More and more people are choosing to participate in Exchange initial offerings, and this is understandable.
Firstly, the exchange independently and meticulously checks and selects projects. Secondly, it is a guarantee that the purchased coins or tokens will be traded on the exchange.
The risk of scam is minimal.
The risk of being scammed goes down if you participate in ieos instead of icos but it does not guarantee that you are going to make any money, after all there are many reasons why a coin may fail, and even if you invest in a coin that eventually becomes successful there is no guarantee either that you are going to be holding your coins for that long, there are many people that invested in ethereum and bitcoin when they were very cheap and sold their coins for a fast profit and they are still lamenting that huge mistake.

ICO projects are still  been launched, even with the fact they are lots of negativity around it.  Investing in ICO projects  nowadays takes a lot of risk. All projects seem good until 3-6 months after investing and the promised project is not delivered.

ICO projects aren't nowadays as interesting for potential investors as IEOs. Actually, we see that the number of legal and good ICOs is decreasing, and most people are more interested in IEO projects, especially those running on the big exchanges. It is a normal thing, since the token gets listed almost directly after the sale in the exchange and becomes tradeable in a short amount of time, which isn't the case for most ICOs.

Do not expect ICO to rise again. ICO is dead slowly, so nothing can be expected. But I still see a lot of projects that do ICO, but whether it is effective with the current conditions. Mostly they fail!
Many projects still release ICOs because part of the market's demand is still investing in ICOs but as you said, the part is too small, combining the conditions that are not really good and lacking, projects will be difficult to accumulate enough capital from ICO, so most projects are running both IEO and ICO programs, it will help the project have more chances of success. Over time, ICOs will show too many problems and lack of investors, sooner or later will drift into a vague past.

The ICOs fail in the recent market conditions and the expectations also die slowly after the investors found the initial exchange offerings. It is no more effective, the IEOs have more potential to bring more customers and the ICO model will disappear in the next few years. A lot of projects will not even come close to the ICOs if the investors don't prefer to invest in those scam-related projects.

There are still ICOS that are patronizing by investors but the ICOS have now low percentage of succession. Investors are now understand the risks that they will face in making investment in ICOS.
Recently, I have not noticed normal ICO projects. All what the garbage, it is unclear that develop, products there is no, simply want muster money and shift the on rapid. Experience teaches people nothing

Interesting article about the death of ICOs and the emergence of IEO... https://cryptotradernews.com/investing-trading/are-icos-really-dead/

What do you guys think? I don't think ICOs are fully dead. They just need to be regulated in more efficient ways. Most ICOs from 2017-2018 never delivered on their promises because they were being ran by a bunch of assholes who didn't deliver squad... We need more regulation. Only then will ICOs get better imo.
I personally do not think that ICOs will die, even if we look at the past few years ICO is not very profitable or arguably many ICOs fail and scams that make many people begin to hesitate to invest in ICO. But, not all ICOs experience the same thing, some of them still continue to update the project that was delivered and develop it so that it can be targeted or can be called to achieve success. So, there is no one to blame because cryptocurrency is a free market and we must be careful in every decision and step we will take.

ICO is dead in the form in which they existed before. No responsibility, no guarantees, a team with stolen avatars and fake names, and so on.
Now it can take place successfully, but only if it reaches a qualitatively new level. And not just in IEO format.
Old good ICO, but in the new form.

I also think so, unfortunately due to the large number of fraudsters, ICOs began to lose their investors, as they are afraid to invest their money in projects. As for the appearance of IEO, there is also a risk of losing your money, as in the ICO. ICO and IEO have their pros and cons, let's hope that the situation will improve.

Yes,and No.

ICO starts from 2013,with the first project mastercoin ,now named omni.

From that time, many projects raised capital from thousands of community members.

Then ICO bubbles with ethereum get more attention, and many scammers cheat lots of money, and run away.

Even many big and famous Ventures are issuing tokens to scam money, many VCs obtain 50%,even 80% tokens, just for manipulation price, and dump the reserved tokens.

So,ICO are dead,no one want to throw money to these copy cats,no matter what they said on whitepaper, yellowpaper, bluepaper, haha.

They forgot the most import thing is decentralized in blockchain area, centralized manipulation will be doomed to fail.

Okay, now really good project return to the original talk forum here, with real code, product, real community.
And these projects will surely get support through decentralized ICO.

So ICO is not dead yet, just for good projects.

ico is not completely dead yet, because there are still many developers who launched the ICO project in this forum. but I see now many investors who prefer to invest in IEO large exchanges and investor confidence has collapsed because ICO always produces junk tokens and many of them end up with fraud.

Have you seen many successful ICO projects recently? Personally, I have not met a single successful ICO in the last six months. All of them collect only a small part of the required amount of investment. This suggests that the era of ICO is over and it is time for projects to move to new ways of collecting investment.
Since there are many failed ICO projects, investors lose their interest in supporting them because they can see that there's no good outcome from it. So they have decided to move forward and find other ways of investing. IEO was launched and was able to garner high exchange rates and was considered a good venue of investment. They keep on developing new ways of investing in this industry and it's time to move forward and leave things that is no longer generating good outcome.

I don't think ICOs are fully dead. They still have existence in the market. Though lots of ICOs aren't operating in a full swing. But I hope they will rise their head again. I read an article about ICO scams here: https://all-stocks.net/prominent-analyst-slams-xrp-as-a-scam-coin-following-a-lawsuit-against-ripple/ Anyways, we all wait to the see the success of ICOs again.

I already read this article online. I also agree with you. Yeah, ICO's are not fully dead. Some of them are achieving great success like ETH.

ICO is almost dead, if there are still ICOs that are truly profitable for investment, recommend that list to me. Currently IEO is a profitable fundraising method for investment.
IEO is much safer than ICO, but as long as ICO has investors, it is impossible to say that ICO is dead, I think that in time IEO will be like ICO

ICOs may not be completely dead but they might as well be, there is no one that is genuinely interested in those coins, many only care about the profits they can get from them and now that getting profits out of them seems to be impossible then no one is really interested in them anymore, in fact I think that if the market crashes again we will see a huge decrease in the amount of coins in the market as people lose whatever lingering hope that they still had.
