lack of funds is an obstacle for developers to develop their projects. the enthusiasm of investors plays a role in project development. because of the many fraudulent projects, the investor then left until finally the ICO died
Why is it always about the money? There have been many successful businesses that started with almost nothing and while bitcoin is not a business but a form of money the same can be said about it, satoshi didn't needed the investment of anyone and despite all of this he created something that will most likely change the world, when you take this into account then I question myself why developers need so much money when satoshi already did most of the work?

Saddest part, but it is the reality that Bitcoin is already dead, look at those ICO that was introduced this year, very few has been successful or just raised a little amount of fund during their time, so for me, we should not be hype over ICO, it is not a good source of income anymore, we should look for something that is worth it like IEO, trading.
I am pretty sure that what you mean is dead is ICO, not bitcoin. in fact, there are still some successful ICOs this year, it's just that ICO is inferior to IEO. now there are quite a lot of IEO that have more success than ICO.

I think there are still ICO developments out there that still have the potential to thrive, like if a project holds an ICO, but cooperates with a papal company, and also an exchanger. it can be an added value for ICO. unfortunately until now, there has not been another ICO like that.

that year, not all ICOs were successful, some also found a dead end. for now, ICO is not really dead, but people have moved to the IEO system which can be said to have a smaller risk of ICO, and also safer than ICO. little by little people will likely leave the ICO and switch to IEO. I think this has been talked about quite a lot. even, for now, I also prioritize searching for IEO over ICO.
Yes because thats the start where the bear market hit. Also the regulations didnt US and China banned ICO. Thats why people no longer participated for the fear of getting money stuck.

Taking a critical look at the market today will reveal that ICOs do not hold strong position in the cryptocurrency space any longer as compared to the vim investors had for it years ago. Now, IEOs have taken over with new strategies of performing the token sales. This is more convenient than ICOs because the IEO is performed on the exchange.

in the very PAST , around 2015-2017 we had a golden time with all that ico's in that time , i do not thinkmthat it will ever come back like in that times , profit was "almost" garanteed so that was another timeframe , ico's from now could be good but it is just hard to find

While there were many bad projects during those years it seemed to me like the developers behind those projects were honest about their intentions to create something new, also they did not asked for as much money and the overall quality of icos was high, but compare icos from that time to what we have today, and you have developers which are scammers, they want millions of dollars for a project that has not even started and the quality of icos is low, when you consider all of that is natural no one cares about icos anymore.
There were things that we wanted to keep it clean and safety, but there were a lot of people that will take advantage of it, sad to see that ICO is really dead, as it has been great during its time, a lot of people are earning a lot from their investment, real project are in the market, but nowadays, although there are real project they can't afford to continue due to lack of fund.

ICO is almost dead due to two main reasons first due to IEO, IEO has taken the place of ICO and now IEO is quickest and trusted(if the IEO is on high-rank exchange). The second main reason due to which ISO becomes untrusted and unpopular is huge scam project and no regulation.
ICOs are not yet dead but it can considered as almost dead because the success rate of the ICOs nowadays is kow less than 5%. Due to the greediness of the people, investors are now afraid to participate in ICOs.

ICO become untrusted due to this reasons and it really affecting the mindsets of most investors, having doubts with the arrangements of the developers as after the sale period the listing take more time to get to any exchange and most of the time it will not do anything to push the project being listed to a reputable exchange. Other factors are being raise and make things very complicated for ICO'S to survive.

More and more people are choosing to participate in Exchange initial offerings, and this is understandable.
Firstly, the exchange independently and meticulously checks and selects projects. Secondly, it is a guarantee that the purchased coins or tokens will be traded on the exchange.
The risk of scam is minimal.
The risk of being scammed goes down if you participate in ieos instead of icos but it does not guarantee that you are going to make any money, after all there are many reasons why a coin may fail, and even if you invest in a coin that eventually becomes successful there is no guarantee either that you are going to be holding your coins for that long, there are many people that invested in ethereum and bitcoin when they were very cheap and sold their coins for a fast profit and they are still lamenting that huge mistake.
Sure, man, you are right. Success mostly depends on investors skills, patience and ability to wait, and some part of luck, oh course. Not all those who invest have everything necessary to succeed.
Many believe that you can be successful by just selecting the right coin but as you have pointed out you need many other things to become successful and many never cultivate those skills, just to give an example many believe they can be patient and wait until the market recovers and yet every day I see more members being desperate to get profits when bitcoin just went through a recovery recently and altcoins gave good enough profits until the summer of 2018.

I also stop investing in ICOS after I got scammed. The shit projects are keep popping up one after another. Many investors are got scammed and that's why it is there is a high risk in participating. There are only few invedtors that are investing in icos.
we see less ico that able earn much money in their crowdsale.for example recent bcnex ico that able earn $28million for investor.people thinking ico was not profitable anymore and most of them was scamming people and it make investors scared.they prefer invest in ieo that have gurantee could tradede as soon as ieo finished.many investors like this way , they  could move to other projects when got profits.

ICO's are really not dead but in a state of dormancy. ICO's were at their peak even though it was asociated with much scams but the rise of IEO's has now determined the fate of ICO's are ico's are now dormant and most lack even funds to live upto expectation or follow their roadmap. For a fact, ICO's are dormant but not dead.

According to https://www.icodata.io/stats/2019 ICOs are not dead. In the last year ICOs raised 8 billion dollars and in this year less than $400K. Number of ICOs has dramatically fallen from 1253 ICOs last year to around hundred ICOs this year. ICOs didn't die, they have been replaced by STO and IEO, which by the way raised around 3 billion dollars this year.
Well, that was right it was change name, from ICO to IEO. ICOs are still there but this time it is changing the name, a lot of people due to some feedback that some people are being scammed on it the reason why a lot of people don't trust ICO for now and I think that's the impression that it's dead due to no more investors on it. There was a many scam project during ICO term last year, all project usually dead or getting scammed.
