Up until now most ICOs are scams, so don't waste your time with these projects. I'm pretty sure that you would lose money if you invested in an ICO at this point, went to the major exchanges and joined their IEO. It is a unique opportunity for you to make a profit from investing in new projects
it's not true at all. some people have already invested their money into the some legit icos have been getting very huge return and you should watch solana ico and how much roi that has already brough to the its early investors. I think that will give you a small insight about the legit ico is still exist.

ICOs are still legal in some countries that do not require registration information. ICOs still work well, and it's held on decentralized exchanges or exchanges managed by institutions, and they have to comply with KYC requirements. Currently, many projects are being held back by ICOs.
ICO are now almost entirely scam projects but there will be plenty of good ICO projects for investors to join. Currently, the Defi projects are coming back and it is very similar to ICOs so you should consider carefully before deciding to invest. I am not sure what will happen when you join, but analyze it carefully before making a decision.

It depends on that project, but some projects that have positive responses, most choose IEO in well-known exchanges, because they will get good demand. If the ICO project received positive reviews from well-known crypto media, it might still be good.
exchangers that hold IEOs are also very influential, this is based on my experience in registering projects to conduct IEO on several exchangers and the requirements for registering IEOs are different, some are very easy and some require project legality etc.
one of the exchangers that is very strict in selecting projects to do IEO is binance

Yes, ICO are still legit but it will depend on who promote the project. There are only few good projects here that are truly amazing and has higher chance of success.

Most of the ICO's are scam, you can see it for yourself here in this section https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=238.0. How many of the ICO project now do you think in that section will going to succeed?

I bet the answer is clear that I guess only 10% of it are legit and the rest are scam. This the problem with ICO projects to which thousands are created but only few are investors. The ration between investors and ICO project is not good. More projects lesser investors. All people here just wanted to create lots of project for crowdsourcing and then run away with the crowd's money.

ICOs are still legal if the project is serious about product development, this year I have seen many ICOs still succeed and help investors to make a profit from investing in it. But there are also a lot of ICOs that are scams because new projects just want to use it to raise funds and disappear from this market. It is safer if you choose IEO of large exchanges

Too many ico I found that ended up being a scam, I have invested in DAV tokens and Heal Tokens, both of them are scams. there are some new tokens not running ICO just mining but those tokens are successful and the price always goes up.
I haven't even seen these projects, there are too many altcoins in this market and most of them are scams. In 2018-2019 I also invested in many altcoins, but in the end those projects died or were not listed in any exchanges.

Yes, some ICOs are still legit but the ratio might be 100:1 so it's very difficult to find an ICO that really doesn't end up being a scam. because that is why investors are lazy to join ICO now, it is better to join IEO which is safer and more promising

That's what's happening right now. Even IEO, not all projects can successfully do it. Not much different from ICO, IEO only has a different working system. As more and more projects conduct IEOs, there will be less chance of success. What's more doing IEO on low exchange. That's really hard too.

I agree, there are many bad apples in ICO. Personally I am much more cautious now and try to not go for the ICO directly anymore. It's better in my opinion to wait a few weeks and see how actively the altcoins are traded after their launch. What is the point to be part of a big ICO just to see all people running for the exit afterwards.
There can still be a lot of value in ICO but I think the due diligence needs to be very good and I just don't always have the time for that. Always better to make your own research than just following other people.

It is always better to go after an Ongoing IEO, than just an ICO. This way, there is a guarantee to be listed on exchanges, once the IEO is ended.

Yes, there are legit ICOs, though it is harder than ever before to choose the right one. But, with an IEO, you have more rooms for success. Additionally, one crypto project has to have a solid product, platform or utility with huge demand for it. Honestly, I see YOUengine is one of those very promising IEO projects. It has all the components to succeed.

in 2020 I hardly hear about ICO because all projects have already implemented IEO. ICO are no longer trusted by investors because of the enormous risk.
I just suggest you to visit a reliable ico listing site https://icodrops.com/

You can try to clicking on the upcoming ico and then you can see there was so many icos that will be coming in the market. In my opinion ICO is not yet dead. ICO can raise a lot of money too.

ICOs for me have been very bad in the eyes of investors but can't be sure all ICOs are bad there are some good ICO projects right now and can generate large profits when capable of listing on the market
If the project is related to defi then the scenario has changed. There are some good projects that launches ICO with a concept of defi and started to gain some attention. Not sure but I feel like the ICO hype are going smoothly and returning for those new projects. But if the project has a rubbish concept of course they cant have a good result and more likely died and worse turn into scam. But Im gonna bet on new projects related to defi and dont want to miss the chance.

Maybe it's the only project that can be successful with ICOs this year, I've seen many ICO projects, but they can't attract investors, IEO is still a lot better and every month I see a lot of IEO success and profitability for investors
It can't be said to be successful if the project is still running and also not finished, and each word "MAYBE" is still not certain to succeed even it cannot be categorized into half measures.
The fact that so many icos can also be successful icos right now. You must see how OIKOS has been successfully getting the funds from ICO and DIA token too. There was a lot of reason for this and I think you must watch it dude.

We heard the news of IEO to be in place of ICO in order to curb the high rate of failure and scams in the development of altcoins projects in this year 2019. My surprise is that I still see series of projects claiming to be in ICOs. Doesn't that make them scam as we have seen in the same scenarios in the past?

If it is, I wonder why people still invest whether their time or monies in such projects which have high risk of loss or being scammed.

I just read in the media about the success of the new ICO developed by a computer expert. And many ICO projects that were born before have also survived well until now. I think the scammer was born not because of ICO or IEO. If someone wants to commit scams, whatever his name he will continue to commit scams. I think IEO only changes the sales method, while the process after IEO is still the same as ICO.
