There are still a few legit and promising ICO projects, but their number is very limited and you have to spend a long time researching for them. Don't depend only on the ICO ranking websites, because most of them aren't trustworthy and give fake ratings. Do your own research about the project before investing either your money or time.

I heard that there are still upcoming ICO projects, but most of these projects has a low value in the market that even they make their project successful it still results a low value, that is why a lot of investors are starting to stop investing their funds in ICO projects due to losses.
In fact, some ICO projects that have entered the market successfully have high prices on the market, but that has shortcomings. the biggest drawback faced by investors is the absence of volume in the traded tokens. some teams expect people who interested in this project, but late buy on ICO, to be able buy on market and make large volumes. it's just that, sometimes an ICO enters the market without any product, so it's just a hopeless hope.

in this case, some ICOs may still be legitimate, but not all ICOs have profit. Investors can choose the correct ICO when they conduct research. but, this year, investors are more interested in the IEO project than the ICO.

ICOS nowadays have a big difference between the icos way back year 2017. When the year 2017 has been done many icos are popping up like a bubble and starting to promote so many projects that the people are supporting too, but when the projects of the icos failed the peoe who are managed those become bubble also that disappear in no time.
That's why icos and IEO has been done, ieo are from the concept of the icos. I may say that some icos right now are still legit and have a good production of project.

Some of them are still legit, but unfortunately the majority cannot collect enough funds for development or are just another scam. I would not suggest to invest in ICOs at this stage and pay attention to big IEOs.

By itself, ICOs are and will always be legit. The question should be directed at the ones behind the particular ICO. Is the company behind this specific ICO legit? If not, then stay away from it. Cool

We heard the news of IEO to be in place of ICO in order to curb the high rate of failure and scams in the development of altcoins projects in this year 2019. My surprise is that I still see series of projects claiming to be in ICOs. Doesn't that make them scam as we have seen in the same scenarios in the past?

If it is, I wonder why people still invest whether their time or monies in such projects which have high risk of loss or being scammed.
One of the big reason is listing in big exchange to launch an IEO is very costly some charges as high as 1 Bitcoin, their only option is the ICO to get funded, of course, ICO is a big turn off for investors, but as long as these developers can prove that they are legit site and they are very transparent I don't see any reason why they will not get funded, there are still ICO investors around.
This is now the sorry state of ICO even if the project is legit, investors are hesitant to invest.

I disagree. The ICO concept makes little sense. You are not buying equity but a non existent product (token = no say, no ownership of company). Concept dated.
Yes, now many ICO projects have unreasonable concepts, even when an ICO project is successful and the tokens are listed in the market, the price of the tokens tends to decrease and investors always suffer losses, this is what makes many investors no longer like ICO, so investors are more like other options than the ICO project.

No, not all.

Yes, the value of them become lesser but not all will turn out to be a thief.
The good thing is we are now conscious on what could happen in an ICO because there is no insurance with their projects.
We now have the ability to go deeper into what they are doing and also their legitimacy.

Thanks to IEO all of that happened.
We can still invest with ICO and now with lesser risk because of awareness.

Of course ICOs are still legal and there are still many ICO projects launched in the market. However, ICOs are no longer attractive to investors as in 2017. Most of current ICO projects have difficulty attracting investors.

Some of them are legitimate. But most of them are most likely to turn out to be a scam. The trend right now is IEO(Initial Exchange Offerings). But the challenge in here is finding the decent exchange to offer the coins to new people. All IEO that binance are handling are turning to success actually. Just becareful because some exchange that are not trusted could turn out to be the ICO project that is always scamming.

Only 1% out of 100% of ICO projects are legit and the few ones i know of are using both ICO and IEO to raise fund,ICO can't be trusted like in the past anymore but what should be more important to investors should be how good the project is, as for me if i come across any well made ICO project i won't hesitate to invest, action speaks louder than words
like what some people say, don't jump to conclusions for each project. indeed it is very true if at present it is very difficult to see ICO which has a better development compared to IEO. but, after all, it's just a sales system. I prefer to do research before actually leaving the project.

maybe the percentage of ICO success compared to the IEO you gave is quite low. I might feel that the appropriate percentage is that 30% of 100% of ICO projects will be successful, but it all depends on the team developing a project. at this time no matter they do ICO, or IEO, all research will see the project quality project first, after that they will see the sales system. so, the conclusion is that ICO is still legit depending on its development.

to be honest many of investors are leaving icos nowdays and prefer investing on IEOs than ICOs and it makes most of icos dead because no one buy the coins on icos i think only one or two icos that legit and the rest are not legit

ICOs are scams, and it's not legal. In my country, ICOs are banned and any project that carries out an ICO will be responsible before the law

If we are talking about legality they have some few ICO now are still leit but the proble is hard to Identify what is among of them are legit or maybe the purpose is to get money investors. If we noticed ICO's investors move to IEO's because we feel the security to our money than the ICO. For now ICO is for risk taker and IEO's ia for the people who want less risk or low chance of losing money.

Personally I can't invest in any ICO anymore, I will rather wait for it to trade on a decent exchange if I think the project is good. I normally invest in IEO done on Binance, Kucoin, OKEX, gate.io for safety reasons. Well, maybe some ICOs might still be legit but I don't take chances anymore.
It's hard to predict the future of any projects that has been offered from this market, a lots of scammers are around and taking the risk added from each projects once you bring your money inside, finding good developers is hardly to find while working and trying what kind of finished product that will soon be acceptable by many investors around.

ICO's are use to raised funds for a certain  projects. If the projects is legit, then so is ICO's in my opinion. The problem exists when projects become unsustainable and no development at all.  Financial problems, loss or unaccounted funds adds the failure of a project.

Well, not all IEOs are profitable and not all ICOs are fake. It all depends on each project. So if the project is good, whether using an ICO or IEO strategy to raise funds, it will definitely be interesting and can form a profitable ecosystem.
I agree with you, it all depends on the project itself, any method that is done if the project is ugly will not be successful, and vice versa any method IEO or ICO if the project is good will definitely succeed, because now investors are very smart in choosing a project

Many still believe in the ICO, even though the IEO has been trending it is no assurance that all IEO program projects are successful. Because that still depends on the exchange rate. In ICOs, however, it is only necessary to review it carefully and study it so that it does not fall victim to scammers using the ICO.
Opinion here can be concluded that people no longer like the existence of ICO or no interest so far there is no more successful ico in the news because it is indeed the time of ico is over. for IEO itself now seems to be like ico because the return and also the loss of altcoin decline is quite large we actually lose even though the profit in ieo
