I don't think becoming successful requires you to be addicted on the thing you are doing. You just need to be smart, strategic, and skilled in that area to be able to make a living out of it. Gambling can be someone's bread and butter only if that someone knows that advantages and disadvantages of gambling well enough and if he's disciplined enough to set limitations and follow them. In gambling, it's best not to involve any irrational thoughts and emotions so that you won't end up being biased in making decisions. If you can execute that, together with patience, and enough resources, then you can be a successful gambler without being addicted on gambling at all.

Just like in business, these businessmen have it as their income generators and most of them aren't really obsessed about it, instead they are good at what they do. This is to have a work-balance life which technically speaking is a goal since you got to live and enjoy life while living the lifestyle that you want or you are dreaming of. It can also happen for gamblers.

Professional gamblers have a very different mindset from the average gambler because they can play gambling while still managing themselves so they are not as tempted as we are. And they can determine when to gamble and when to gamble. Indeed, they can experience gambling addiction like us, but with their abilities, they can still control themselves well. Professional gamblers already know the steps they must take before playing gambling so they won't experience a severe gambling addiction like us.
Professional gamblers already have a lot of experience in the gambling industry from bitter to sweet experiences so they can easily manage their own actions.
Precisely professional gamblers are gamblers who have been addicts and can slowly control themselves to quit addiction but can still gamble within the limits and abilities they have.
If we follow the way professional gamblers work, it will not work because we are still tempted to win and like to act arbitrarily which can cause emotions when playing gambling.
That is why the difference is very clear between professional gamblers and most gamblers where professional gamblers can control themselves and manage their gambling time. And even though professional gamblers have become addicted gamblers, they can still control themselves because they have more abilities than most gamblers. It is very difficult to become a professional gambler because we have to practice many things before becoming like them. Of course, mental training is also needed to manage our gambling later.

It is proven that one who focuses more on a sector becomes an expert on that sector.  Because he is giving time there. So when a person chooses gambling as his profession he has to spend a lot of time in gambling and he becomes a kind of deep gambling addict and because of this he becomes an expert at some point and prediction becomes very easy for him.  But still he can never guarantee his winning because no one can ever win regularly in gambling and it is totally impossible.
We have successful gamblers, although it depends on what you decided and wants, but nothing good comes easy; I've spoken with them and received helpful advice and benefits. The truth is that whatever brings food to the table must be determined and consistent. Constant repetition of an action or activity, which comes to become a part of you over time. Gambling is dangerous, but not for those who have worked for a long time in the system and have been acquainted and comfortable with every gambling sector. They would be able to access profits and losses without hesitation or trepidation

If they invested time and effort here, most probably this is their profession already.
I mean they take gambling seriously and not just gamble for entertainment. There are gamblers who are treating gambling like their daily job and some are earning a lot and that’s the time we can call you a successful gambler if you are able to control your finances and keep on winning in gambling.

It is true. Even with how professional we are in our gambling habit there will always be that losing streak that will make us off in our decision making. Especially in casino games which are mostly controlled by the house. The winning percentage of the gambling site is way higher than the player even if they show a "provably fair" statement or an enhanced RTP event. It still doesn't end up well.
There are lots of strategies that I have been reading in casino games. They say one must not stick in one game and should be constantly switching to another to avoid more losses because you will never know where your luck is, it could be in another game rather than slots or dice. I've tried it, it's just the same ending.
In sports betting though, it's way different. Just recently, I kept on winning in WNBA games, and even if I lose it's only a split like 1 of 2 or 2 of 4. It's not that hard to predict basketball games if we know what we are doing. Analysis always helps out to enhance the winning chance.

When a person is completely addicted to gambling, he has no sense. People who are addicted to gambling always think when they will be able to gamble. I don't see gambling as bad. People who can control themselves and gamble can survive gambling for a long time.  And those who can't be patient can't survive gambling for long. I think gambling is spreading day by day.

What matters a lot is how much is being gambled.

You can "last" a long time if you gamble extremely small amounts of money. But there are usually minimums and many gamblers would find those bets very entertaining anyway.

At the end of the day if someone gambles continually, they will lose all their money.

i think it can be considered yes and can be no. depending on how the person does the gambling. someone who does gambling but can still think clearly to control his desire to gamble and risk his wealth in my opinion cannot be considered as an addict.
i think the word "addict" has a negative meaning and i think it's only attached to someone who can't resist the psychological urge to continue gambling and risk everything he has without considering the loss or negative impact on himself.

On the one hand a gambler who has a huge bankroll can increase the probability of winning, but he can also lose more. I read one investigation on the Internet and it said that Drake actually spent a lot of money on gambling. I don't know why, but I believe it. I don't think he's a professional gambler. And in fact, he probably has a gambling addiction.
Gambling is not for everyone. There are some people who gamble by borrowing money from others. Gambling is suitable for those who have a large amount of money and free time. Some choose gambling as a profession and some choose it as a pastime.  Yes. I think it is ok to gamble in our leisure time but when gambling cannot be chosen as a profession it will do us great harm.

Now let's be sincere, will you also classify a successful gambler as an addict?
I do not think so. Successful gamblers whatever your definition may be are not seen as addicts. Even if they are, the world believes that once you are successful at any venture your ability to do wrong or be addicted to something like gambling diminishes. Let's look at Drake. A very successful musician known all over the world for making good music. He has also caught the attention of the gamblers for betting huge amount of money on Football matches, boxing. Some he lost, and some he won. I have never heard anyone say he has a gambling problem. All I hear people say whenever he losses a bet is that he'll make that money back in less than an hour, or he has more than enough money, so it is not a problem. Well, I just think that successful gamblers are not seen as addicts.

The way smart gamblers think is different from the way normal gambling addict thinks, whether they win or lose it has no bad impact on their lives, that's what creates a professional gambler, they stay safe to avoid ruining their lives and still end up winning.

We could say that engagement in gambling every time is addiction but I have seen professional gamblers who chooses their days in a week for gambling and he said that Thursdays are is lucky days.

If it's not Thursday he is not gambling, professional gamblers are always in control, but the other part who are addicted are in lost, they let their desire decide for them, they lack discipline.

I wish I could have posted this in a more better place but since the thoughts came from gambling addiction, I thought it wise to ask this question over here and I hope we can discuss and get this straight.

Just as the tittle already ask, I really want to know if people who are successful in gambling also seen as addicts because I believe  for one to be successful in gambling or whatever they choose to do, there must be some good amount  of time and effort invested in it as well as money and we know that a successful  gambler must have invested  both time, effort and even money to make any reasonable  winning  and these also are features of an addict as there are always excessive time spent on a betting site.

Now let's be sincere, will you also classify a successful gambler as an addict?

1.Nobody sees successful people in general as addicts. Why? Because "the winners cannot be judged". A person, who is winning is good by default. Only the losers can be seen as addicts. That's just human nature.
2.Is there such a thing as a "successful gambler"? What kind of gamblers are you talking about? Professional poker players? Roulette, dice and slot players? Sports bettors? To be honest, I have never seen successful dice/slot/roulette players(those games are 100% luck with no skills required and maybe most of them are rigged). The successful professional poker players are a really small number and the same applies to successful sports bettors.

Most successful gamblers though are addicted as they keep playing, you cannot become a successful gambler if you don't play consistently and people who play consistently are called addicts to such game.Of course the level of addiction differs as the successful gamblers know where they should stop and call it a day while heavily addicted gamblers keep playing even if they win a huge amount as they have no targets, they just need to gamble, for them this is like a drug and their body needs it,this is the difference and this is also why successful gamblers are inevitably addicted but not to high levels.
But even if successful gamblers are addicted, they can still control themselves in gambling and the important thing is knowing when to stop gambling. Most gamblers don't have this because the offers offered by casinos always tempt them. Meanwhile, their finances also don't support them always to play gambling so gradually, they can use anything to have money to play gambling. And the level of gambling addiction indeed differs between the successful gambler and the average gambler because of the great capacity for self-control the successful gambler possesses. This is why successful gamblers can still enjoy gambling and win their gambling games and enjoy their winning money. At the same time, most gamblers cannot enjoy it.

Professional gamblers seem to have a mindset that is quite different from most of us who just gamble with anything being done because the focus is different.
Even though we want to pursue victory, in terms of the patterns or strategies carried out and the planning that begins are clearly different because what we are looking for from the beginning is fun so we don't learn anything else because the focus is there.
But when talking about professional gamblers from the name alone there is already "professional" then this will indeed be a little different from those of us who play gambling dirty.
But when talking about addiction as the initial context, I actually think this goes back to each of our opinions because sometimes our opinions will also be very different including the word "addiction".

If you are making money with it then you are not seen as a gambling addict but a professional gambler. However, if you are gambling on regular casino games then there is no success, house edge makes sure that you lose in the end and you can gamble as much as you want, it will lead to you losing your money there is no doubt about that.

The only thing you can win constantly is games like poker which means that you will get to gamble with other people and you can become a professional gambler in that regard. This would be a better thing and I believe that we are going to end up with a good career out of it if we know what we are doing. I am not saying become as big as phil helmuıt, but you could definitely do it online and make some money with it.

Anything one is doing that has made him successful will no longer be called a bad addiction. I know of a guy who has made it through gambling on different sports and different online gambling sites, to the extent that most of the local gambling platforms have made him their ambassador. Even with being an addict to gambling, he has also been making a name for himself with what others might see as a lazy man's work since it looks like all the person is after is free money, which is far from the truth.

To answer your question, an addict is an addict, but not all addicts are entirely bad. In the case of the gambler, which I have mentioned above, his kind of addiction has paid off, which has made him what he is today. I could possibly consider him a good addict.

No, that's definitely different. Addict gamblers are someone who plays gambling but cannot control himself. Because he has a very high desire to always play gambling, no matter what the conditions are, he cannot control himself, only continues to play gambling even though he has no money. This self-control is very important for gamblers. Meanwhile, professional gamblers, usually they are more mature in several ways in gambling, not only readiness and maturity in managing gambling knowledge and abilities but also in emotions. So that he will not be addicted even though he continues to play gambling. yet he knows when to enter and when to exit.

From the  word gambling addict you will realize that such person has become so exposed to gambling that he or she  can't be controlled anymore and anyone who has been classified as an addict can be seen as a professional gambler at the same time because people who win big in gambling don't get so addicted to gambling.

A gambling addict only lavishes money because he never stops gambling unless every penny he or she has is finish but for some one to be regarded as a professional gambller it means that the person never loses a bet or the person invest less and make more money.

No. Successful gamblers are those who have above average abilities and can analyze the game to win. They have made gambling a profession and are still paying attention to their financial condition and not playing too much, meaning that they are playing in a balanced way and the ratio of wins is far more than their losses.
Successful gamblers are also the once that always know when to stop gambling even if they are winning, some people will keep on gambling even when they are losing, why some will not stop gambling when they are winning, they will always claim it’s their lucky day, but I don’t think their is anything like luck day in gambling, when you are winning, always have limit when you will stop gambling and go away with your profit. When gambling you should make sure your profit is more than your loss, if your loss is more than your profit, then something is wrong, you can just stop gambling.

Meanwhile, gambling addicts are those who play like crazy and do not pay attention to their financial condition and health. Usually the ratio of their losses is also greater than their wins, and they tend to be more aggressive.
Addicted gamblers are always after the amount they will win which at the end they are going to lose, they are the set of people that are always Chasing their loss. As a gambler, if you can’t gamble responsibly then you are addicted to gambling and it’s wrong, gamblers are always suppose to set limit for themselves which they should try their possible best not to exceed it always.

From my own point of view,a successful gambler is one that knows when to quit or stop playing, one who doesn't chase his losses and get controlled by his emotion. A successful gambler is some who gamble with only the money that he can afford to lose.

If such a person wins big,he will be able to use the money wisely by investing it into a business like buying bitcoin and gold. An addict is an unsuccessful gambler because he is a slave to gambling and will loss all he has on gambling. Gambling is fun and for entertainment, you don't need to hit it big before you become successful.

Yes, the characteristics of an addict are present in a successful gambler. However, its important to distinguish between dedication and addiction. Addiction stands out from other mental health issues because of the negative effects it has on one's personal and professional life.

You can enjoy gambling without falling into the same trap as compulsive drinkers. When negative consequences, such as financial strain, are unable to curb compulsive gambling, the result is addiction. Its not only about putting in work; it's about giving up control.

Addiction may strike anyone, no matter how successful they are. While Elon Musk's work-addicted mmakes him billionaire, it has the potential to be both unhealthy and detrimental in the long run. Always try to strike a balance, and may those who are having trouble with gambling get the treatment they need.
