At present there are still many new ICOs emerging, but are they still reliable? As what I see in this current situation, ICO is not that reliable unlike before. But there are still few of them that could be trusted yet we need to do some more research with regards to their platforms.

Probably that is mate, indeed most of the projects of ICO lately had those reasons which really hinders their success in propagating good results on their crypto community. Badly, some of them didn't refund the investors money and resulted to scam project that caused bad reputation to ico developers. This brought people to distrust crypto project, and many people hesitated to become part of cryptocurrency activities anymore.
I just feel the ICO game is over, using fact and data to see what has become the state of the 100's of ICOs last year and 2017, how many of these project is left with active development, the most disturbing thing here is that some that are up and running have no users on their platform and some that do have are not even accepting their native tokens
The recent BitTorrent ICO shows that are still good investment opportunies amongst the ICOs but nowadays they are just much rarer. In 2017 almost every ICO project that got listed initially traded way amongst the ICO price.
Yes they still have opportunity in ICO but we can call it onopporunity if the ICO are legit and succssful and they will be able to get listed the token or a coin to the market even you are wait more than 6 months. But now there is a lot of ICO are garbage and not worth it and not calling an opportunity choose ICO who are opportunity for you to grow your money.
ICO is still easy money, easy way to scam people. Do not trust ICO since CENTRA fail, will never invest anymore

The thing is people do not have a full understanding that STOs or ICOs are the same exact thing and ICO could generally be the same thing a STO it just depends on what country the project is based in and the security laws in such country.
I mean people think STO and boom its a new wave when in reality if STOs where to happen 90% of the people in this forum wouldnt be able to invest in them as they sre not wealthy enough to do so.
People invest but know nothing about the laws in what they are investing in what you call dumb investors.
for now it seems like I stopped first to invest with ICO. I prefer trading rather than investment. the current market situation is really bad especially bitcoin, and that has a big influence on the ICO.

Of course there are. The challenge becomes finding the right ICOs or projects to invest in since almost all the ones present are substandard or built with the intentions of defrauding people like we have seen a countless number of times. One has to be ready to exert themselves committedly towards making sure that projects chosen are vetted accurately through research, observations and authentication. This is the only way to pick the right ICOs to invest in.
I have followed and observed most of ICO launching lately that fact that there is a huge number of ICO launching every day will not change the fact that 90% of them if not more failed to raise any money and only very few managed to raise the minimum amount and none reach the hard cap, the numbers show that ICO got effected heavily and in my opinion the future is for STO.
There is a lot of ICO, and of course not all projects are good. The last few months were very difficult to collect even softcap. However, I think that the situation has stabilized and projects with a good dev team and the original idea have a chance for development.
I still believe that ICOs have a good opportunity to create value for both blockchain and real life. In fact, in recent time I have seen good performance in an ICO. Considering the bear market, the performance was not bad for some other projects too, but it is true that surviving this period is a tough challenge.

I will said we have to be careful in investing into icos because there are many projects I hope will do well and I invested in them but today those projects since June last year has not been listed in the market. I think almost all the people that invested in icos are losing.

I guess there will be fewer and fewer ICO in future. Maybe STOs will take advantage, but I doubt it. I suppose startups won't be able to collect enough money and develop product before the fund raising. So let's enjoy a few more months of ICO age))

For now they are not good to invest because of the bearish trend even if they collected better funds they will be crushed while entered into the market for trading by the investors and traders.But the future of ICO is still there when people creating high quality and life needed project. Yes there are a lot of opportunities in the ico space, but it takes guile patience and immense intelligence to identify and invest in such project
