When they enter the national team, the young players are not like when they played in the U-19 team and this condition I have not found the right answer. Regarding mentality, young Indonesian players are not left behind like other Asian players. Some say, Indonesia is lacking in the football infrastructure sector. There is also a mention because of the food factor. Was there any other factor that brought them back to zero again when they entered the national team?

Actually, I think there are many problems in Indonesian football.
However, if we refer to Shin Tae Yong's statement, there is a lot of homework for him. one of the problems in shin tae yong's statement is the lack of discipline, we all know that local indonesian players lack discipline and do not have a professional mentality, do not maintain a diet, do not understand the importance of weight training.

some of these points become homework that must be improved by many clubs in Indonesia. I see Shin Tae Yong's mission to make Indonesia more advanced in the world of football.
That's Indonedia, what about other Asian teams? The quality of their game is also not much different from Indonesia, because it is too narrow if only discussed here is Indonesia.
Mentality in my opinion can be formed and will change over time. But what is difficult to change is the bad habits of football management who manage the sport.

Well Indonesia is a country that can really surprise, if I would like them to be the champions, although basically I am leaning much more towards South Korea, it is a country that is very confident and really has experience going to world championships, in fact with Italy it did a great role in a World Cup (extracting and leaving out the fact that the referee at that time represented being a drunk) and the history of South Korea is quite extensive, the players make very different plays, their way of playing and their style He likes it on occasions, also when seeing the last games of that team he promises, they are very fast, they have improved remarkably.

Currently, the Indonesian coach is the one who coached South Korea when South Korea and Japan hosted the World Cup several years ago. but if you compare the quality of players between South Korea and Indonesia, South Korea is far superior

Regarding which country will be the host, I am pessimistic that Indonesia can be chosen because Indonesia is the host of the 2023 U-20 World Cup (next year)
there is gap to far between Indonesia and South Korea , in mentality they have different gap although in few years ago when Evan Dimas era they could compete with South KOrea in U23 Asian Cup. Since this young player move to senior team , they didnt play well anymore and there is no one know why its always happen to Indonesia team. Alot young player send abroad so they will have good experience and skill , but when back to national team as if this is back to zero again.
I think the problem of Indonesian football is very complex and maybe it will be better if it is addressed from the bottom,
competition at a young age is also non-existent and that certainly has an influence,
hope there will be a good change for Indonesian football

Well, I've only seen some clips of an Indonesian match on Youtube, and I saw that they have very good resistance when they play, of course I only saw a little bit, it's very different when you watch the 90 minutes of the match, however I'm very much inclined towards what You say, South Korea has a lot of football and in fact in the Korean and Japanese Cup, the Koreans stood out a lot over Italy, that at that time Italy was one of the favorite teams to win the World Cup, that the arbitration was very unfair, time Later it was when it came to light that that referee did everything wrong and it is presumed that he whistled that match while drunk, that is something very sad for the sport, but I know that this is how things went.

Wow, the truth is that this is a fact that I did not know, I hope that Indonesia can organize a World Cup, I am very curious to see them play in an event like this, to be honest, all the styles of play that there are, especially the Indonesian , the Japanese, Korean, Australian, I hope that this time, as the World Cup quotas have increased, Indonesia can go and those teams that have been very close to qualifying and have never been to a World Cup, that they live that experience, also that they would give Much joy to your country, the emotions that would move are many and above all the hopes that would open in many.

As for Indonesia I also think they should focus more on AFC and leave AFF,as their soccer league has improved a lot in the last year so they can try and participate with stronger teams in the AFC compared to the Asian Cup.

It's true, since Shin Tae-yong became a coach for Indonesia, the players seem to be more disciplined. I'm happy PSSI has chosen to keep Shin even though it hasn't awarded the title yet. PSSI several times chose to fire coaches who had a positive impact on the Indonesian team, such as Alfred Riedl and Luis Milla. Ahead of this AFC, Shin Tae-yong will also definitely not waste the opportunity. However, it's a bit worrying too, PSSI wants instant results, if it fails in the AFC, Shin Tae-yong could also be fired.

I would say, the situation is almost similar to Man United after Sir Alex Ferguson.
I have to say that it is hard to be Indonesian National Team coach due to some reasons.
One of the reason is about the political situation in Indonesia that affects almost everything including in PSSI.
Other reason is about the huge number of Indonesian players out there, it is hard to get the best squad from hundreds or even thousands players.
One other reason is about how PSSI try to develop Indonesian young players, it should be improved a lot and it should be supported by all parties.

I really hope that the growth of Southeast Asian football can reach the best level at least like countries outside Southeast Asia. While waiting for the certainty of the host of the AFC Asia Cup 2023, we can see how the process of the AFF Asia U-19 tournament takes place which has reached the final. There is something uninteresting going on, but there is no need to discuss it.
After China's withdrawal from the host candidate, now there are several big countries that have raised their desire to host such as Japan, South Korea, Qatar, Australia and the last one is Indonesia which is trying to host.
If you look at the names, I think their infrastructure is quite good and even very decent, but if it is in this case I might prefer Korea or Japan.
Actually Australia and Qatar are also good, but if you look at the clear schedule, it will be difficult considering that in June-July the weather in the Middle East, especially Qatar, will definitely be quite extreme.

Japan and Korea have the best infrastructure for such event as they have hosted World Cup of 2002 and they have the infrastructure since then,of course now it is upgraded as both are very well developed countries. Those countries also have the best national teams from the teams mentioned here and if they host it there is a high chance of them winning the event or at least going very far.

As for Indonesia I also think they should focus more on AFC and leave AFF,as their soccer league has improved a lot in the last year so they can try and participate with stronger teams in the AFC compared to the Asian Cup.

That's what surprised me when Indonesia won the match against Myanmar and the result was Thailand and Vietnam qualified for the semi-finals.
That's why I also support if Indonesia leaves the AFF, maybe it's true that if Indonesia leaves the AFF, it can focus more on the AFC and I'm sure that coach Shin Tae Yong will give the best for the young Garuda squad. regardless of the losses the AFF will suffer if Indonesia leaves, I'm not sure PSSI will do it.
PSSI, an organization responsible for managing Indonesian football, has so far had no statement or desire to leave the AFF after the disappointing results received by Indonesian football lovers in the AFF Cup.

PSSI still respects various AFF regulations, but in the Thailand vs Vietnam match, there seems to be a gaffe like it was deliberately done because Indonesia had already won the match against Myanmar.

Quote
"A team that wants to move into the next phase has to rely on itself not on others".

For me, it's a very wise attitude of PSSI towards a lot of people's disappointment with AFF.

It is better for Indonesia to going out fom AFF, I agree with this support. With Indonesia leaving the AFF< some people believe that Indonesia can focus more on the AFC. a lot of people also says if AFF will not be able to survive, if Indonesia finally going out. Because Indonesia is a country that mostly likes/supporting football, this can certainly encourage income for AFF through merchandise, broadcasting and sponsors or anything that can give money.  its mean less money for AFF.

AFF, there is a lot of work for them to eliminate the tradition of controlling the score in matches, this is one of the reasons why it is difficult for Southeast Asian teams to advance to the next level.

Right now things are not good because few countries having issue with infrastructure and few is not able to host this cup just because of weather which is having not good in June-July with this all most chances South Korea or Japan are strong candidates for hosting this event, but AFC is still giving extra time to all countries those are interested can do their homework as we still have nearly one year for having this event with few countries are preparing for World Cup which is going to hold in November 2022 in Qatar and having many troubles for European countries as their domestic set up is going to have big issue with this.

AFC is no active for having few other events like U-19 and more regional trophies which can bring youths specially they need to do hard work in India as they are currently mad in cricket, but soccer could be also very popular if they work on marketing purpose and bring some strong material.

Football in Southeast Asia has recently begun to experience many changes, this shows the movement towards a better stage in the future. however I think it will take a long time to level up with levels outside Southeast Asia. The AFC Cup match is still 1 year away.

you want to say elephant football game ?
if so I think AFF needs to update outdated regulations. Haha, I saw Indonesia is leading the poll on this thread, guess there are a lot of fellow Indonesian in this forum. Though Indonesia has grow a lot this year, I don't think they will make it to the final, surpassing group stage will be very good. But If I would bet my money, I would bet on Qatar or South Korea. Moreover Korea already bid to be the host, so their chance is getting higher. I wish Indonesia will also bid for the host so I could watch some of the game live.

Many Asian countries are on my radar when they play. All of them are entered into this competition, and it will be interesting to wait for Asian to be the match they are looking forward to the most. Honestly, I want to see the growth of Asian countries can increase from year to year. The presence of newcomers and young players will certainly provide a different atmosphere.

I am also hoping for this because recently they are developing which is positive signal for bright future with this all we can say Southeast could be surely ahead soon because they are going with some strong grass root level which is good for them. Sadly due to another pandemic wave China is now out of hosting this competition and AFC is working on few options and all details are coming soon with most chances South Korea or Australia are going to host this event in 2023.

Right now, the best option for Asia is tried to develop from age groups which are going to bring few talented youths in main stream, and then they can develop their skills which could be helpful for them and this process can bring some good money for them as well as right now Africa is enjoying with the export of good number of soccer players to UEFA.

The duration of the 2023 Asian Cup is still quite long, namely 2023 and it is not the right time to discuss it at the present time. Maybe the op can lock this thread and re-open this topic when it's early 2023. My prediction is that several countries that will be able to reach the semifinals will probably be Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia. These four countries have great players who in my opinion will be able to bring their countries to beat their opponents in the Asian Cup later.
Yes, there is 1 year left, but I know that it can be followed up on, I would particularly like to see this championship, seeing these styles of play in football attracts me, fortunately in the world we will see Australia that must have good football, although the truth when he played with Peru did not seem so relevant to me (I did not see it live and direct) but I did see it because I want to see the skills of the oceanic players, I think they should prepare even more because the level that the World Cup has is very high The European teams have a high level and Brazil and Argentina too, this World Cup will be very interesting, I want to see the Qatar team do a good job.

although it's still 1 year we have to wait for this Asian cup to be held at least we can poll and exchange ideas about football problems in Asia. Speaking for the Australian team, I think Australia will be very calculated by other Asian country teams, I don't really follow the development of the Australian team inside or outside but I really like two Australian legend players like Harry Kewell, Mark Viduka was a great striker in his era. and let's stay tuned for world cup and asia cup.
Yes, they are very representative players, particularly I like to watch all kinds of football, and one in particular is Asian, I like the way the Japanese play, although sometimes I think that with a little more height it would be something excellent, the Australians have a lot of power, but sometimes I see that they get lost a bit, however I want to see Australia's behavior in this world cup, besides that for the next world cup this promises to oprque it will have the inclusion of 3 more teams for the direct classification, this inclusion means that more teams choose to have more participation, see a better development of soccer in each continent.
