Until now, there has been no latest news regarding the host of the 2023 AFC Asian Cup tournament after China withdrew as the host. There are four countries that have volunteered to host, namely Japan, South Korea, Qatar and Australia.

These four Asian countries both have the opportunity to host because of their good infrastructure, so they deserve to volunteer.
If Japan is selected, the implementation schedule will not change. Likewise if South Korea is elected.
So what if the chosen one is Qatar or Australia?
According to the article I've read it's possible that this event will be postponed if Australia or Qatar is chosen as the host, there are several reasons for that in the Middle East that month between June and July will experience very extreme weather, while Australia is already known to be holding the Women's World Cup there. And in my opinion greatest possibility this event be run on schedule either in Japan or in South Korea.

I do not agree with you, the development of football is not from the outside but from the inside first, you know what I mean, for example Russia and Turkey joined the AFC does not guarantee the quality of other AFC members will increase. I think Japan and Korea can be a reference in this comparison, (except for prosperous Asian countries) the Asian axis has always existed in some of these countries and this does not prove that some other AFC team squads have better quality because there are several countries that have a reputation in  asia scene and always qualify for the world cup.

By the way, I'm happy to brainstorm with you. I really appreciate that
This is the importance of having a healthy discussion because everyone does not need to agree with the content of the topic that has been made by someone else so that everyone can provide a more complete understanding as you say it. Because from what I see what you say can also be true where Japan and Korea are always more visible and used as references in the AFC, both in the past and for the next year.
Sadly we can't talk about Asian strength like we have in UEFA and South America because here we have no basic structure in many countries and even few countries are falling behind day by day due to domestic issues which is the biggest problem here and few countries are improving but still need long way to go for having quality and consistency which is important, and we can watch in European and South American teams.

Even now Africa is also going ahead of Asia as they are producing too many quality players those are playing in UEFA and gaining big profit for their countries and here we are completely failure just few players from Australia, Japan and Korea are busy which is big question mark for many big countries like China and India.

The Asia Cup football competition is getting closer. Although before that we will enjoy the FIFA World Cup. However, I want to expose my favorite team. In this upcoming Asian Football Cup, I have chosen Japan as my best team. I think in 2023 Japan will be the winner of this Tournament. Japan is the most successful team at the tournament, winning it four times. However, since there are several champion countries, it will not be very easy for japan because Iran and Saudi Arabia both have three titles as well.

Yeah as of now, Australia is having some troubles but still they have good setup and few players doing good in UEFA clubs which is very helpful for them and they can bounce back strongly in coming years.

But for me if Turkey, Armenia, Kazakhstan Azerbaijan and Russia are considering to join AFC then surely it's positive movement even it's not guaranteed they will agree for this and AFC will surely have some more slots in World cup because with then entry of these countries quality will increase as these all are better in facilities and skills with having better technique which will helpful for many other AFC members.

Japan and Korea both are consistently doing good for AFC for long time and no other team is having result like them even recently China is going down badly and Arabians are also never been consistent in results.

Addition of teams such as Russia and Turkey can be very beneficial to the AFC, as it can improve the quality by a great deal. Now Russia do have reasons to move away from UEFA, after all the sanctions that were imposed on them. If more teams move to the AFC, then there is no reason for the FIFA to keep the qualification slots at the same number as before. But then, UEFA is one of the richest (most probably "the" richest) confederation, and leaving it and joining a poorer one can have financial ramifications for these countries.

I think the South Korean squad is stronger than Japan's. The performance of the Japan team is not consistent. A few days ago, they also lost 3-0 against a team like Tunisia. Against strong teams like Ghana and Paraguay, they won 4-1. The South Korean team, on the other hand, relies heavily on Son Heung-min's performance. South Hemisphere seems to have a better chance of winning the Asian Cup if Son Heung-min is in form.
Using indirect teams to judge between South Korea and Japan isn't a good measure to say which team is better than the other. Tho there is no recent match between South Korea and Japan on the level of the national team, there was a match between South Korea and Japan in U-23 Asian Cup 2022. In which Japan beat South Korea 3:0 and passed to the next round 1/4, only to lose to Uzbekistan (home advantage for Uzbekistan) and settled for the 3rd place. You see, most players from U-23 will be the core of the national team in the future so this is the closest we could get to judge between South Korea and Japan.

the development of australian football is very downhill from the last few years, we can see from the last few matches. Of course, we can easily predict if Turkey, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, especially Russia, join the AFC, it is likely that their team will be more technically superior and easy to qualify for the World Cup qualifiers.  (despite UEFA's sanctions for Russia) and this is very unfair to Southeast Asian countries who have to work harder to compete. Yes, we all know that the axis of Asian football power is dominated by Japan and South Korea, although some countries on the Arabian Peninsula are starting to develop in the world of football.

Australia is a good team, but they were 5th in the AFC qualifiers and they had to participate in the playoff match in order to qualify for Qatar 2022. Turkey, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Russia failed to qualify from the UEFA confederation this time (Russia was disqualified). If they move to AFC, then qualifying will be easier for them (but nothing is guaranteed, as AFC also do have some very strong teams such as South Korea and Japan). And the AFC can even ask FIFA to increase the slots allotted to them for the world cup.

Surely it's going to be trouble for few countries if we have Turkey, Armenia and Azerbaijan in AFC their quality is superior to many Asian countries, and they are enjoying good in UEFA with much better facilities and finances which are not possible here in AFC where just few countries are ruling for decades and now with the shifting of Australia they are already lost one spot because Australia is also very strong team with one of the best domestic set up in soccer giving them good advantage against many teams in Asia.

But, if they take this all as positively as surely they also can increase quality and this can be helpful for all region as well because with the tough competition they can bring more sponsors and more finances.

Turkey is a Eurasian country that crosses two continents between Asia and Europe, 95% in Asia and 5% in Europe.  Historically, Turkish football has had strong interactions with the European continent, not with the Asian continent.  Since the beginning of football activity in Turkey has been in the western part of Turkey, especially the European part.  Football was introduced in the Ottoman Empire by the local British.
I do not agree, if Turkey was previously a member of the AFC, it is not necessarily the development of Turkish football as advanced as it is now when compared to other Asian countries.
Obviously in terms of finances, it may be more beneficial for teams such as Turkey to be a part of the UEFA. But at the same time, from the next world cup onwards, the number of qualifying slots from the AFC will increase from 4.5 to 8.33. For UEFA, the growth is much more moderate, from 13 to 16. So in case these teams (not just Turkey, but also Russia and Kazakhstan) shift to the AFC, their chances of qualifying to the main event will increase manifold. But then, teams such as Japan and South Korea may not be very excited about such a move.

Who knows, Indonesia in the Asian Cup can go further beyond the predictions of observers because in football, unexpected things can happen even though the one who dominates has the chance to win the trophy.
Getting out of the group phase is the same as qualifying for the final because Indonesia is one of the representatives from Southeast Asia who has been waiting for a long time to play in the Asia Cup.
Both Thailand and Vietnam always dominating the seed from Southeast Asia, it was really hard for Indonesia to even pass those two in the smaller championship in the SEA regions like SEA Games and AFF Championship, much less stand a big chance to win Asian Cup. Cause even Thailand and Vietnam have a hard time paying with all the big guys in the Asian Cup like Japan, Korea, Australia, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates if you know what I mean.
A better and perfect statement about chances of Indonesia in Asian Cup because few peoples creating hype, and it's never been good Indonesia is good team but still need some good time for having tough competition with the teams like Japan, Korea and Saudi Arab these are enough strong teams in Asian region and not allowing opponents to have easy time with this all Indonesia is never good in recent times specially against teams like Thailand and Vietnam so how we can expect some good from them against these giants.

So, it's going to take some long time for competing with these teams right now, just try to have some positive points from this Asia Cup and take good lessons for future because we need some good and strong Asian teams for having better interest from fans as well.

Haha, I saw Indonesia is leading the poll on this thread, guess there are a lot of fellow Indonesian in this forum. Though Indonesia has grow a lot this year, I don't think they will make it to the final, surpassing group stage will be very good. But If I would bet my money, I would bet on Qatar or South Korea. Moreover Korea already bid to be the host, so their chance is getting higher. I wish Indonesia will also bid for the host so I could watch some of the game live.

Indonesia was one of the wild horses last SEA games so I guess that's the reason why lots of supporters are still rooting for them but this year is also for Vietnam and Thailand. It seems like they're too prepared this year though there are still lots of things that are yet to happen. We should expect the unexpected then.

Does anyone know why Asian teams such as Turkey, Armenia and Azerbaijan are part of UEFA? These countries are either fully or mostly within the Asian continent, so I don't understand why they are a part of UEFA rather than AFC. Many of these teams would find it easier to qualify for the world cup, if they are included in the AFC. And the same can be said about Russia and Belarus as well, since these two countries are considered as untouchables by the UEFA board. And from 2026 onwards, AFC will be having a greater number of slots for the World Cup.
