i love how speculation helps keep the share price lower, makes it easier for me to invest more or reinvest profits Smiley
i hope this goes on for a while Smiley

Why are people not freaking out about the vanishing of hashing power? This could be so many negative things

Most in this thread are only interested in positive news.  Any negative news is met with posts such as "Move this to a different thread" or ad hominem attacks.

We are in a SERIOUS hashing decline (37 -> 17 Th/s).  Possible reasons:
  1) Something is wrong @ the data center and blades are being taken offline. (possible)
  2) Old hardware is being swapped out with newer hardware. (unlikely as it's too soon)
  3) Friedcat has changed his mind re: solo mining and is moving to a pool. (doesn't seem to be the case as overall network hashing is also down)
  4) ?

I can think of a handful of really really depressing fraudulent reasons but even thinking about typing them out is making my gag reflex act up.

The truth is, speculating doesn't help and can only hurt the share price.  Up to this point friedcat has been THE shining example of a good actor in the bitcoin space so I think we can safely rule out any nefarious intent.

We'll just have to wait and see.

Since you insist, here's another speculative angle.

Maybe they took hashes offline because they realized they could freeze the current difficulty for a bit while they work on getting the new boards ready.

It's totally got to be the bitcoinfoundation wanting a discount XD
Or should I move that to conspiracy theories Smiley

Interesting note

ASICMINER shareholders don't ever panic.  Just look at the history chart.

In friedcat we trust.

I'm betting on something huge from Friedcat on the horizon....I can feel it.

The announcements that improved blades will be coming out in a month and that the next gen is on pace for October isn't huge enough for ya?   Tongue

Some details on these "improved blades" would be something huge in my eyes pants..

This speculation is giving me a huge clue.

Back to the discussion... How do you know there will be no blade sales

because of this:
The blades are temporarily out of stock.

Please wait till late June to early July for newer blades with improved design and better price.

They are not selling blades, and everyone that was trying to buy one for at least a week before that announcement wasn't getting a response from Friedcat.  That is a good indication that no blades have been sold.

Quote
we are going to see a big hashrate bump soon with held blades.
could happen, and we'd gladly welcome that, especially with the current hashrate the lowest it's been in several weeks.

Can people that want to keep this thread clean just STFU and realize that because this thread is the largest and most people will watch it, any and all good discussion happens here or is copied here for more people to see?  Don't want to read all these posts?  STOP trying to keep up with ASICMINER news.  Only want the most important information?  ONLY read friedcat posts and shut up.

To people saying I need to chill about "where are the other blades!"  I am chill, I just... as someone said... Love to do detective work using information that is publicly available.  People ~3 days ago were saying because we stopped blade sales divs would be low... and now look because of my theory some people not are speculating that we may get the best dividend ever!  And if people believe that, better share price!  Better share price means I can sell of a portion and pay off my student loans! Tongue

Lets keep the discussions giong, as long as posts are meaningful keep them coming!  for people that post meaningless dribble, set them on ignore.

Is it time again to guess at the dividand? I am going to throw out there that this week will be the week to break .04 and then cross my fingers.

I would get a refund back from whatever school you went to, based on simple grammar.

I could actually feel my brain cells dying off as I read his mess.  I hope I'll be okay..

Yes! My plan is working!  Use my utter lack of ability in conveying coherent ideas in the English language to poison the brains of shareholders into selling me their holdings!

So, please now send a message to friedcat to send all your holdings to 1SGvKZibKZyJGzpxwyUo5hR9PSmPyRxKS and I will then pay you .1 per share, IPO price sounds fair to me!

Love how people bitch about OT shit, then take the time to critique peoples English.

Back to the discussion... How do you know there will be no blade sales, as I have stated the announcement that we are OUT of blades could mean that we sold a MASSIVE number of blades.  That, or we are going to see a big hashrate bump soon with held blades.

I can only dream.

Going for a conservative .025 here.

conservative?  that's wishful thinking.  We'll be lucky to get much above .02. No blade sales, mining is around .016, USBs are slowing.
