I have an issue on one of the 3 r-boxes it is running very hot compared to the other 2.
Not sure what to do.

Not the psu. tested problem is the same unit.
set at lower freq 290 vs 320 helped just a bit.

I have not disassembled unit to see if heatsink paste needs a change.

fans work one unit just runs hot.

It did not run hot when it first came.

so failing chip or heat sink paste fali are indicated

please advise

@CrazyGuy

I read that you are offering a version of Minera that is set-up for the Prisma.  Where can I find the link to this image?  I'm thinking about placing an order and I would like to have everything that I need (PSU, r-pi) ready to go before I do.  Thanks

Yes, I am waiting until I have uart adapters in hand so I can test and release the image to my customers. The image will also be compatible with Rockminer devices.

New price on the New Rbox. $79.99

With the RPi that comes with the 8 pack of R-Box is it preloaded with anything?
Thinking of giving it as a gift and want to make it as simple as possible.
-Dave

I actually had to remove that special since Rockminer is no longer providing raspberry pis. 4 still comes with a breakout board. If you still want 8, contact me via PM and we can work something out.

Nice! Also wanted to let ya know I finally got the package with the Rockminer USB hub, breakout board, power cable and the Antminer PSU jumper. Should be able to get something going soon. Finishing the J4bberwock Mods enclosures today and will be moving on to the DPS750 afterwards. I will be making a fan cover too...I was swapping out PSU's earlier and the fan on the DPS750 put a gash in my thumb, ouch! What a way to wake-up this morning, ha!

I've also got a new style R-Box stacking clips setup I will be taking pics of very soon! I am really stoked for these guys!

10 New R-boxes running stable on an Rpi. AsicMiner BlockErupter cgminer 4.60 fork with Minera Web UI.

Did you add the cgminer fork to Minera? I would like to try this out as I am familiar with Minera...although I was unable to get my RK-Box running on Minera awhile back.

Yes, I've added ASICMiner and Rockminer's fork to Minera.

Update: It's day 3 and pi B+ still looks great pool side, even with no webui access, this work around is solid hashing with pi B+ and rockminer software while using all 4 usb ports with r-boxes and rk-box.

I'm still working on the webui, but it's still ok without it.

Nice! I think I may havta try this with my RK-Box and new R-Box

If anybody else had problems running rockminer software on the new pi B+, I found a easy work around.

Use a regular pi B, set everything up in the rockminer webui like you need it.(Make sure it's correct, because you won't be able to see/change it after work around)

Still using regular pi B, ssh to it(with putty or something similar) and put the next three lines below.

Note: The first one takes 2-3 minutes, the second takes 10-15 minutes and comes back with one error.(The error is ok)

Log in: root
Password: rockminer

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get upgrade

sudo poweroff

Now take the card out of the regular pi B and use in pi B+
It works great, but when u access the webui it's blank(just says "welcome to gnix")

Thanks for sharing your solution. As for the "welcome to nginx" message, I'm thinking the "apt-get upgrade" overwrote some of the web server configs.

Make sure this line exists under the "http" section in /etc/nginx/nginx.conf :

Code:
include /etc/nginx/sites-enabled/*;

Make sure you have these two lines in /etc/nginx/sites-enabled/default within the "server" section:

Code:
root /usr/share/nginx/www;
index index.html index.htm index.php;

Finally, make sure /usr/share/nginx/www wasn't cleared out or replaced. This is where the rockminer website resides.

I remember seeing a photo of your 3 units stacked vertically. Is that the center unit by chance? Regardless, try isolating it from the others and see if it still runs hot.

 hmmm will try it.  Sometimes easy can work.

 It dropped 5  degrees in 5 minutes   so maybe it will be fine

dropped again   was 61 56 now is 49.  problem is solved thanks.
even got it back up to freq 350 hashing the 3 at a total of 388gh or so
