Xup ladies gents, it's a genuine question..

At what age did you start gambling and how was the experience?

You may likely want to find out why I am asking this question, well, today, I came across someone, a younger teenager who should be around 12 or 13, but he claimed to be 14, we got talking like we friends not minding I am very much older than him (my first daughter is 8 already)..

That is younger than people that I have seen gambling, I have seen a 10 years old gambling on his phone through an account that I know was not his and when I asked what he was doing, the response was, it is his father that asked him to place a bet for him and I knew that it would be the father that have thought him how to do it. What is funny was this kid was doing this in the church and this goes to show how we have failed as parents in training the children of this generation. We let children to have too many information that they were not suppose to have and now we have child acting as adults and this put them in a very bad situation because they can end up being a gambling addict because they got exposed to gambling at a very young age.

The only unexpected age range which we should forbids the start of gambling is when someone is below 18 years of age, but once we are above this, then we can go into gambling as we may desire, however, many of us have a lot of interesting stories of how we started gambling and who got us introduced to it as well, this are things that looks most funny on us as well when we look back to remember them from the start.

30 years old  Grin
It was poker and sport betting. After 3-4 months i stopped it for 11 years  Grin
So today i can`t say that i`m serious gambler, but make sometimes 5-10 bets per week but sometimes it is about 2 week per month.
Casino games don`t interest me, it depends on luck and i can`t make something with it. Purpose was to get several free bucks, second time i tried to test is it possible to make gambling the main income and know i just gamble for fun, or to relax maybe.

I think here either the boy is involved in some fraud or has stolen that money from his parents. He drop out of school means his parents must be poor but in that case if it is not stopped then he will face big problem in future. If a child gets addicted to gambling it can ruin his life in the future. The kid has fallen into gambling and maybe even some drug addiction at such a young age and it's already a capital offense by law. Moreover, gambling should have such a tough mentality that it cannot have such an impact on such a young child. Many times, unable to take this mental pressure, they commit suicide prematurely.
Dropping out of school is not always for those whose parents can't afford a good education; some children most times just decide not to continue and face life in a different way.

According to the story, the boy said he was into trading, and he might be making sure money from there on Fx, but the question here is how did he get the money to fund his forex account in the first place. There are a lot of suspicious people here, which could not be overlooked. If the boy is questioned properly, he might confess to an illegal activity he might have gotten involved in that gave him such money.

I don't think there would ever be a gambling benefit early. There's nothing to be checked on, TBH, but if you want to push it, it could rarely happen that the kid realizes how much it will change his life. I doubt kids can do it unless they are exposed and somewhat mature already.

Personally, I was maybe young when I encountered it, but with playing cards and family. It's just for fun, so I never considered it addicting or beneficial. Like what gambling does to you?

Is there any benefit that comes with starting gambling at a very young age?
I believe you already know the best answer to this question.
Actually, there's no benefit on starting gamble on a very young age, rather is will do more harm to the young gambler. However, the rules of every casinos have a specific age that a gambler need to reach before he or she starts gambling, but the young gambler didn't pay attention to the rules and started gambling at the age you mentioned. Even though he's a crypto trader and already knows the risk in trading, he's not supposed to apply such risk on gamble because I think gambling is more risky than trading at young age.

There's no benefit at all. See how some full grown adults are battling with addiction, see how some adults lost their cool when ever they face lot losses in gambling, some of them (grown adults) can not even make some good decision in their bankroll management, name it. If some adults can not do all those things well, how much more can an minor be able to get any advantage from gambling at a young age. I don't think there's anything good thing it. I started gambling when I was already about 20 years of age.

I started gambling at a very young age and I can tell you this for free there are no benefits attached to it. When I was 19 I had a friend that Introduced me to bet9ja, he was actively involved in it and at that time he wasn't working because he was still a teenager, he lied to his parents about what he needed money for, if they don't give him he would steal it. Gambling at that early age exposed him to a lot wrong behaviors. At that time I also wasn't working but I learnt how to put in any little thing I had into gambling. As Young people that shouldn't be your focus, find all ways to decist from it because it's Capable of ruining you.

Yes, I also have thoughts in my direction that the child most likely came from a poor family so he dropped out of school and related to the large amount of money I think what you said is possible that maybe the child got that much money from deceiving his parents or deceiving other people, that's possible.
On the other hand, if I were OP or I were in OP's situation, of course I would continue to try to provide a proper understanding of what and how gambling really is with the aim of making the child aware because his gambling habits are of course very likely to destroy his future more significantly.

Honestly, a child who is still a minor should not be involved in gambling, there is no tolerance whatsoever considering that they are still at an unstable age which will be very dangerous for them through various impulsive decisions and difficulty in controlling themselves, so in general I would not advise them to have good self-control but would forbid them completely to stop or not be involved at all in gambling.

He's a school dropout, jobless, and claim to have lost over $8000 to gambling ever since he started, he's into crypto, so yeah, he said he plays mostly on crypto casinos online.
It is like gambling addiction but the story looks unreal.

Jobless, and joined cryptocurrency to gamble online with cryptocurrency casinos. How is that possible and where did gambler get money for his bets?
He can bet only if he has money, no job, no money from salary, and by being a school dropout, it sounds like his family did not have good finance too. I really don't see how the gambler can have endless capital for gambling.

I asked if he has any investment in crypto or else where, he said no, that he is always gambling with any money comes his way... Is this a way to a good life?
A school dropout, jobless, and gambler at the age of 13, who has lost up to $8000 in gambling. How's that possible? Someone at that age in my country who has the stated un-behavioral status quo can't gamble to the extent of spending a huge amount of money gambling because, at that age, his mates are in school learning and not really into gambling. After all, they have a guardian(parents) who are under their care and feed and clothe them. The only money they will get is from their guardian. It won't be that much for them to think of gambling with it.

However, a 13-year-old child who's jobless and dropped out is simply a tout in society. He will be creating a nuisance and acting waywardly in society because they have nobody who direct and correct them in their wrongdoings

I have known about gambling since high school but I never played or bet, I only knew that 'gambling' at that time was still widespread in fiat/physical gambling, online fiat not so much.

Well, when I first entered this forum I was 22 years old, this is where I got to know gambling thoroughly, This means that I have been active here for a year, starting to try to place small bets and starting to be active until now, so the conclusion is that I have been involved in the gambling arena since the age of 23 until now.

Is there any benefit that comes with starting gambling at a very young age?
Not always, sometimes gambling benefits me financially.

I gamble not so young but I feel too fast about gambling because my finances have not been stable before and I even go into gambling that is worse because I have a bad impression about gambling in the form of age.

The person lost a lot of money and I felt that he was wrong in getting to know gambling if with such a view, unless he wanted to get to know the martial arts and become a professional with a clear direction to become a great gambler, but it seems he gambled to fulfill his lust with money, not Just pleasure as is often discussed.

I started gambling in my teens when I was 16 years old. I consider the game we played in dice as a form of entertainment. Although we bet our allowance, addiction started when I was able to sustain my betting.
Although there are countries that allow children as young as 10 years to gamble, it should never be the norm. Formative years should not be hindered by gambling since it is addictive and will occupy a fertile mind of youth that can lead to mental health later on, children's behavior should grow up naturally through education

~snip~

The earlier a person starts gambling, the faster he changes his attitude to this type of entertainment. Or he doesn't change if he has a predisposition to gambling addiction.

I've been gambling since school age. Of course, at that time we didn't play for such large sums as now, but the excitement was the same. Every gambler once lost more than he could afford - the main thing is to draw a conclusion from this!

I don't know for others but for me, I don't think it's beneficial to start gambling at a young age especially when the gambler haven't been initially sensitized about gambling and how to gamble safely. I started gambling at 21 despite doing it in my adulthood, I still ended up becoming addicted because I never knew much about it before engaging in it.

Adults have a little more intelligence they have the ability to control themselves, but gambling at a young age is more likely to harm them because of their younger age they will have a greater sense of excitement. They will not be able to control themselves and will always try to gain from their friends which will push them further into darkness. Both time and energy continue to be wasted on gambling which will not be able to rise again in later life. Even after hundreds of attempts there is no change in the habit from this, if the currency can be kept for a long time by investing in bitcoin, then the future will be very beautiful. Life will be beautiful with that money in the future.

OP: It's not the young person's fault, it's the fault of the society in which they live, then the culture and perhaps the first of all those I mentioned, family education. It doesn't matter where you are born, if your family influence is correct, you may have been born into the cradle of a gambler, but you don't have to be one.

At what age I started, I don't remember, it's not relevant for me to think about that... it's not how you start but how you finish.
You are right, the influence of people in the environment and family is very important in the growth of a child, we cannot blame ourselves at a young age because the environment will educate how we will do everything in our growing age, our thinking is not yet independent and does not know what is wrong and what is right and only imitates what people around us do.

I personally started it at the age of 20 and was still young, but yes, it is still quite young, I was not affected by the flow of social media but was influenced by people in the environment, namely friends who already knew gambling further.

Depends on what type of gambling it is. At my part of world, small version of dice, roulette, plinko, wheels and similar games are fairly common in local fairs along with those ring throwing things and ball throwing games. Kids comes to it along with their parents and asks for money to try their luck. I could have played those dice as early as 5.
The next phase of gambling on our life are card games. They were common during festivals and I learned to play cards with my grandmother. Could have played for fun money even at the age of 10.
The real serious money I gambled was at the age of 15 when I started playing Poker with friends. Once, I lost my whole month allowance on a single night.
I was introduced to online gambling a bit later at about 21. I was already employed by that time and had no one to answer about my salary.
