Somewhere, a group is preparing an attack on Bitcoin. It will come around the next big pump. The attackers will have an exponentially large advantage of computing power. If the network isn't compromised, it will be severely damaged.

bitcoin cannot be attacked, however, the network and storage location for bitcoin storage and "protected" can be hacked by evil forces. Even though there are guarantees from bitcoin storage companies and currency developers, bitcoin exchanges can and have been hacked. So for that it is very important for you to take certain steps for your own security so that you can avoid any possible losses. There are several security steps, namely
Secure your e-mail account, Secure your social media account, Use unique and strong passwords for all online accounts, and Enable two-factor authentication (two-factor authentication).

Are you talking about a 51% attack? That may be possible with some of the little known cryptocurrencies, but not with Bitcoin. For launching a 51% attack on BTC, you need millions of mining rigs and many Gigawatts of electricity. I don't think that all these can be procured on short notice. Is there any evidence of an impending attack? Else, please refrain from spreading FUD here.

Can you elaborate this? Is this another FUD or what? I appreciate your concern to us but seemingly you can't back this with additional information. So this might be considered a fud.
I have the source right on my post, I quoted it. Anyways, it comes from here:

I wonder what kind of attack in question? It seems almost two weeks have passed, but there were no attacks as far as I know.

If you read the OP, you'll know what kind of attack he is talking, but this is just strange because after OP created this thread, he is not online anymore.
A full member account but it was not an active account, maybe he is busy figuring out how to attack the bitcoin network, LOL.

I hope this does not happen soon, the current encryption, has already suffered some damage related to network attacks, this time should be more prepared, even nothing is impossible.  Roll Eyes

I think it's impossible, if that happens then I think it has already happened, not waiting until now when it has been around for 10 years. why now?

Today, a lot of negative information is expressed in the address of Bitcoin.  In most cases, this information is unreasonable and has nothing to do with reality.  Over the entire history of Bitcoin, no one doubted his leadership in the cryptocurrency market, and today's results show good prospects for the future.
Yeah, No one can confirm are that information correct or not. before sharing negative news we have to double check it and always research first. negative news can inpact for price of cryptocurrency

Well that's what happens actually... Not even at full pump , even right now people are always looking for faults in the softwares and somehow they call it *Social engineering *!
Even on sites like Amazon if it even have a bug for like 10 minute it can actually pose a major threat to them , 😂 people who know hacking are like hungry wolves I don't know why would they think about waiting for the coins to hit high , they already know it is going to hit high thus whenever or wherever they see an opportunity they will make a good use of it and then there are things like phishing where even a potential link can create problems for you.

How did you know OP? I was about to get interested with your post as it seems that you can be a good source when it comes to bitcoin market price pump. Yeah it did a market price pump and I was surprise that from 10.7K surging up to 12k + usd. This OP has very interesting knowledge to share with.

Anyway, I will be checking on your post OP and hope to see more updates from you.

They probably don't have anything tangible to share, like photos of a hidden lair or something ridiculous. More like word of mouth, or maybe they're a part of it and whistle blowing Cheesy

anyway, links to an article as a source are rarely credible and usually just click baity type things.

Interesting, I reported this thread some time ago for spreading unsupported fud and abandoning the thread to turn it to a Spam Megathread but the Mods decided to let it be like it is and, few days later the situation is the same, just piling up sig spam. Sad

is there valid data that can make your statement real. I think right now if there really is a large group, maybe it will only attack the price. the condition of the btc down price will be one of the causes. but I think it won't last long and BTC will still rise again

can it be clarified the type of attack that will be launched, if we know how they attack maybe we can anticipate how to counteract it.
at the moment I consider OP only spread an issue without any proof. however when prices are good as now,  every issue need to be addressed properly.

This can not happen. The largest Bitcoin mining pool today is BTC.com that has 19% of the hash power. F2Pool is the next pool, with 12.8%.
There is no pool to have 51% Hash Power.  There is no possibility in the next 50 years to come, for a mining pool to have 51% of the total Hash Power.
When the quantum computers will be invented (in 30 to 50 years from now) this could happen if someone will say that Bitcoin money are no good in this world.

I believe that we all need to understand that technologies are evolving and that Bitcoin will continue to continue.  Everyone wants to break it and get it.
It will be very difficult to break bitcoin in other to control it. If that is possible governments and world powers like the USA and China or even North Korea could have done that since. The world power is fully aware that if there allow bitcoin to keep on existing the more less power they currency will be. Bitcoin is decentralized and that means productions of a super computer in other to control it or create damage to the blockchain technology or Bitcoin is almost impossible. If you want to damage Bitcoin? Get hold of Satoshi and you will get that done only if he agree to do that with you.

If the attack generates positive things to pump bitcoin there will definitely be a lot of support from everyone and everyone will definitely be waiting for it.
but if the attack is negative to destroy bitcoin it's not easy because many people will protect it strongly.
and there is a lot of bad news about crime plans in bitcoin but so far bitcoin has been well maintained and increasingly popular and strong.

I was looking into the eyes and realized everything you posted was pure BS.  Grin And it is clear that you are one of them. And that whatever you planned all failed.  Grin

Plus, why would I worry? The pump that is happening right now and the next ones are small pumps. The next big pump is happening in 2028. The group has a lot of time to prepare. Good luck!

I am curious with what the kind of the attack and if the attack is something that could make bitcoin price to get a pump, then I want to wait that time, and I am sure that many people will do the same too. But that does not make sense if they want to ruin bitcoin reputations because bitcoin already becomes popular and many people already known about bitcoin.

What kind of attack might be? Spread virus to stop the bullrun? All these scheming people can do is to hack wallets and exchanges including spreading FUDs and other disinformations to stop the uptrend. Bitcoin has experienced many attacks in the past including a price downtrend that lasted more than a year but it is still manage to go up. This might be a group of individuals with an aim of bringing down the price of bitcoin so they can buy again at a lower price.

You can't attack Bitcoin by just using computing power. Any attack will come from bankers accumulating most of the available coins, and using them for their own inter-company transfers. This will make some of us rich, but inhibit the use of Bitcoin as a general currency imho.

that's not really an "attack" at all, just a continuation of the current distribution of wealth. bitcoin wasn't really meant to solve that problem. as much as bitcoin is meant for "being your own bank" it's still compatible with traditional banking. the exchanges of today already operate as banks.

Somewhere, a group is preparing an attack on Bitcoin. It will come around the next big pump. The attackers will have an exponentially large advantage of computing power. If the network isn't compromised, it will be severely damaged.

who, CSW and company? i hope they have fun wasting millions and millions of dollars and gaining nothing. good luck to them.

Come on folks.

Anyone who entertains a thread like this has failed their I.Q. test.  Roll Eyes

just baseless speculation without any solid reference where he got that concept. if there's some truth about what he's saying, he should have at least an article link discussing such possible scenario in the future. in that case, we will know if its pure fud or just an imagination of someone who doesnt know what he's talking about
