Somewhere, a group is preparing an attack on Bitcoin. It will come around the next big pump. The attackers will have an exponentially large advantage of computing power. If the network isn't compromised, it will be severely damaged.
are you talking about an attack on bitcoin? what do you mean is a bitcoin dump, I don't understand the real meaning maybe if bitcoin is having an attack I think bitcoin will be able to grow back because bitcoin is a coin that is resistant to any attack.

No one is going to attack the bitcoin network, if they attempt it, they will end in huge losses and will probably cost trillions of dollars and at the end, they will end up been unsuccessful. Please tell them to use the money and energy to buy more bitcoin before it goes out of their reach.

Can you elaborate this? Is this another FUD or what? I appreciate your concern to us but seemingly you can't back this with additional information. So this might be considered a fud.

What is the source of this? Anyways, even if it is true, they need 51 percent of all miners. Since most miners are in China or Chinese in origin, I assume this attack will be carried out or will be supported/organized by China.
Could be something against US trading war or upcoming sanctions.
Speculate more?

Are you talking here of the supercomputers that can cracked bitcoin codes or something like that? Admittedly, I am not a technical guy but I read somewhere about this possibility. However, you can just be joking spreading baseless FUDS to scare people away from bitcoin so it can slowdown its growth trajectory for the moment and for that I must say this: nice try but never mind. A real attacker will never telegraph his moves but will keep things on tight secrets.

Maybe it's quantum computers arriving ahead of schedule? https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/a/11522

Bitcoin and the blockchain it resides on are prevy to such attacks.
They are resilient and do not become non functioning all the sudden like many make out this could happen. Lips sealed

You can't attack Bitcoin by just using computing power. Any attack will come from bankers accumulating most of the available coins, and using them for their own inter-company transfers. This will make some of us rich, but inhibit the use of Bitcoin as a general currency imho.

That's right, since Bitcoin is not an institution that can easily be hacked. It is a currency and whoever do an attack to it should start from banks or the whales to control it's momentum.

This is not possible, why would they do that now if they have a chance to do in the past, and I just think it's impossible to attack bitcoin as its been here for years and no compromise has happen. In fact as it continues to operate the same system it is, it makes more people trust it, that attack is very big and would destroy the future of bitcoin, I just don't see it happening, bitcoin is a digital gold and we would not reach this big if there's a big vulnerability on the network.

Exactly, if they really wanted bitcoin to be destroyed then they should have attacked bitcoin when it just started because if they will try to attack bitcoin now then it would be very difficult to destroy knowing that a lot has been vouching for bitcoin now.

I believe that we all need to understand that technologies are evolving and that Bitcoin will continue to continue.  Everyone wants to break it and get it.

Since bitcoin is the largest distributed network on Earth, they must be operating from another planet.  Roll Eyes

I think people must also prepare for this kinds of things. But I still trust the people who are responsible in protecting us in this kinds of attacks. But I also want to know where you were able to gather this information about the attack. Though it not really sure when because things like this can happen anytime here.

I agree with you, attacks on BTC always come all the time, we must be careful, because every attack will affect the volatility of BTC on the market.  especially today, BTC is in a condition of recovery.  I'm afraid BTC will fall dramatically again.
When you say 'always' then you should be wonted to face that thing. Everything can be happened, but about volatility price we always find it everydays. Don't you think volatility price will make you get profit? You can set buy and sell when it happens. Currently bitcoin price condition is good and still showing it will be up again. This is pointed out there are many users who trust to bitcoin again and make a choice to invest a lot of money on it. So, I'll predict the fall dramtically in bitcoin price will not happened at this time, but bitcoin price will find another an ATH again and if the new ATH has been found the its price will crash again.

Can you tell me when BTC will reach $50K too? You seem to know what will happen in the future which is why I can use your help in placing some big bets and we could split the profits evenly.

What do you say op? This entire topic is hilarious.  My advice for you is to be happy that BTC has breached the $10K mark finally and stop spreading FUD like all the other useless FUDsters in this forum.

who, CSW and company?

I don't think so. However, others (including Shelby/iamnotback) are preaching this too, but the timeframe is different.
Something about something in SegWit. However, it's too long/diluted, I cannot follow it, but whatever it is, if it's serious and real, I guess that's already fixed or in progress to get fixed.

What kind of attack do you mean? many types of attacks in the cyber world. And where do you know that an attack will occur on Bitcoin? so far bitcoin is safe and it's been 10 years. Indeed, we know that attacks can occur at any time, but where can you deduce your argument?
If indeed there will be an attack why not? why now? strange

No need to fear that. They can join the mining army and mine along without doing any damage. What kind of attack are you fearing ?

that's not really an "attack" at all, just a continuation of the current distribution of wealth. bitcoin wasn't really meant to solve that problem. as much as bitcoin is meant for "being your own bank" it's still compatible with traditional banking. the exchanges of today already operate as banks.

who, CSW and company? i hope they have fun wasting millions and millions of dollars and gaining nothing. good luck to them.
