Digibyte.lol Digibyte has Jared who is a brilliant marketing person and the only real development to come from them is the gaming wallet.

Digispeed was a big hype con, after 6 months all they did was change the reward and block times and made out like it was the second coming of Christ but that goes to show how great a marketing person Jared is. Most people in the digibyte ANN think they developed Multi-Algo.

So true... Myriad was the first* and most multi-algo developments continue to come from the Myriad community. Digibyte is a marketing hype coin spearheaded by a dubious company that has tried to poach Myriad community members and dishonestly promote itself as the original multi-PoW, while hiding its premine and instamine.

What can I say? In any case, congrats to Auroracoin for hardforking to multi-PoW and good luck— in my eyes, this helps both Aurora and Myriad. At the end of the day, most people from the Myriad community just want to see 'the multi-PoW flock' succeed. Some of us might hold a few grudges against Digibyte's (possibly short-term) success, but the fact that there are now multiple implementations of multi-PoW means we're onto a good thing!

* technically Huntercoin was the first, but it's a very different concept.

With the $250k usd investment of digibyte Jared must be under huge pressure to make something happen. Without that investment digibyte would already be dead as a coin. Those trips Jared makes to countries like South Africa isn't free. Without all that investment he would be in the same situation as the rest of the alts trying to make it.

AUR doesn't have to answer to any donors like digibyte has. Jared will have to please this investor first before the users.

That is a lot of funding ! Adamastor should stick with AUR as it won't help digibyte to invest in them, if they can't make a success with $250 000 then it will never happen. When did they get this investment, if it was in the last month then understandable as they haven't done much time to use those funds and why they have had to resort to copying other coins.

November 2014 they received the $250k , which is why I have much more respect for a currency like AUR who have had no help.

WTF 2014?!?!

Adamastor is putting in big efforts to promote Aurora in South Africa were many people will think, yes very nice but it was ment to be for Iceland.

That's interpretation and assumption. Honestly, one wouldn't know what people over there, or anywhere, are thinking.

I am Gulden affiliated, which is a country coin likewise. Yet both are being picked up by a relative large part of non-country related users, which in my opinion, are positive things.

Adamastor wouldn't have this problem, when promoting a coin that was not ment to be a country coin.

From how I perceive it, he doesn't, nor does he experience it as such, nor does he have such.

On the other side the dev team gets distracted because of Adamastor inputs.

I wouldn't know, since I'm not that in-depth. Though if you say is true, in my opinion, than such would say more about the dev team, than it would about Adamastor; generally speaking Wink

Adamastor, I also would like to say something about NLG. For you, it's probably impossible to figure out what happened at NLG. I am just like you, an idealist, who sees the benefitsof crypto for all the people in the world. For centuries the normal people have been financially raped by banksters, western unions etc...This must come to an end. From the start, I followed all 3 coins, Aurora, DGB and NLG. I liked all 3 of them and I think all 3 have a chance to survive, allthough all 3 coins differ a lot. NLG has an unsolvable problem in my opinion. This problem is Rijk and Geert. They tend to run NLG in a form of dictatorship. The guys that really did a good job for NLG, like LTEX, BIOMIKE and ny2cafuse were never rewarded. So now, NLG is still a coin with a community with hard working people run by 2 devs who make huge mistakes, in my opinion.

Actually, the situation you are in now with Aurora coin has some similarity with the situation LTEX, BIOMIKE and ny2facuse had with NLG. With focus on "some". Don't get me wrong to think that I compare these 3 guys with the NLG devs. The similarity is that there are different opinions between you and the devteam and sooner or later we will see that a lot of good efforts will not have the result that they could have had.

Every story has two sides.

What happened between all them guys, is between them. Personally, I don't know what did, nor would I want to know, but it should stay between them. Dragging community's and/or community members along with any discrepancies, or keep pointing backwards, is not in favor of any coin for that matter.

Any offering from a dev in relation to this project, is not the same as an open invitation for promoting, hijacking, or whatever more.
This thread is about Aurora. Not about some old shit, nor Gulden, nor Digibyte.
Let's keep it that way.

Maybe you don't have the ability to read properly, but I am not promoting anything at all. The only thing I do, is suggesting that there might be a possibility, peoples efforts might have more benfit if used in other ways.

No need for derogatory; I was talking more in general terms. Just underlined what is awesome in your username regarding the subject (which is Aurora), along with a winky added.

I very much did read you properly. I just noted the amount of talk here other than Aurora by both non-dev's as well as the dev's themselves, likewise dev(s) from other coins. I used your post, as my entry point regarding.

If you received it as a personal response on your post, than my apologies and my bad; such was certainly not my intention...

Well, I did recieve it that way, more or less. Thanks for apologising. Let's forget about it. It's just an observation in general. Adamastor is putting in big efforts to promote Aurora in South Africa were many people will think, yes very nice but it was ment to be for Iceland. Adamastor wouldn't have this problem, when promoting a coin that was not ment to be a country coin. So, in my opinion, he could make his own job easier. Hmm, let's see:

NLG dev team:

Rijk: Dutch
Malcolm: South Africa
Jason: South Africa
Frank: Germany

Any more stupid uneducated remarks?

Who are these devs from SA?

Is there any hope of getting their details?

You can find them on the Gulden ANN (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.14137745) Malcolm = MaNi, Jason = WaterLooDown.

Come to think of it, Gulden might actually suit you and your goals better then AUR my friend. They have two South African Dev's, they have large supply and aim to become a worldwide innovative payment system. They have been underpriced for years now, so your investors can buy in cheap!

I tell you what, I'm happy to trade all your AUR against NLG, so you can join efforts there with the same relative amount of coins. I've got plenty of NLG to cover your load.

Just let me know  Smiley

Since the appearence of Adamastor at this forum, I am following the discussions between the devteam and him with interest. Adamastor understands the need for crypto currency for Africa and has put in a lot of time to educate the south african people about Auroracoin. On the other side we have a devteam that concentrates on the original purpose of Auroracoin; Iceland.
From the beginning, I had the idea, Adamastor choose the wrong coin. It is very difficult and confusing to try promote a nation coin in another country. I think, Adamastor makes a big mistake here and I am really pity for him his efforts aren't rewarded enough. Until now, I never talked about it, because I didn't want to talk on this forum about any other altcoin. Now, when I see LTEX making Adamastor an offer to change Aurora for NLG, I decided, I could post my ideas as well. For me, it's very clear that Digibyte is absolutely the coin Adamastor has to choose to promote in South Africa. In fact, Digibyte is just as Aurora and NLG  a coin that is fundamentally designed to be used for payments.
Digibyte has an extremely hard working devteam and isn't designed to become a coin for one nation. Jared Tate the founder of Digibyte, was one of the key speakers at south african bitcoin conference held at 3 and 4 march, just one week ago.
Adamastor, I really think your efforts will be rewarded a lot more when you offer your help to Jared Tate. The DGB devteam always asks the community to help and is very thankfull for it.
I am not gonna post any links about DGB, everyone knows how google works.

I personally, own as much AUR as DGB, so it's not that I am promoting DGB. But the efforts of Adamastor on one side and the ideas of the devteam on the other side, gives me the idea that we have a misfit here. When two parties, both doing an excellent job, don't match, it's probably the best they seperate.

Adamostar, just in case you want to make a change from Aurora coins to DGB without losing money by trading fees and differences between buy- and sellprices, you can always ask me to sell Aurora for DGB.

Adamastor, I also would like to say something about NLG. For you, it's probably impossible to figure out what happened at NLG. off topic but I'm going to be on national television tonight. I starred in one episode of a series called showville, a local reality show that goes from town to town in SA hosting a talent show in each town. When they came to Simon's Town I took the film crew on a tour of the town which will cast a background to the show that happens in the town hall.

The reason I'm perma-bullish about Auroracoin is because it has me.

Don't rely on the people of Iceland to make you rich, the people of Iceland need you to lead them out of financial slavery.

The same goes for any other coin like digibyte or nlg. I don't know anything about digibyte but if they have a POS system for merchants then I will gladly promote its use to my constituency but when Auroracoin gets a pos system then that will become the default.

The only good thing about Auroracoin not having a POS system is the coins are less valuable which gives one more incentive to buy them knowing that its a matter of time until the POS system is a reality along with the krona exchange and all the marketing that on its way.

In the mean time I'm talking to marketing guys from Gulden about distributing it here in Cape Town.

Digibyte guys are welcome to educate me about its wonderful applications.

The effort is ''international'' - but the target and the ''direction'' is from Iceland, no doubt in my mind. Its a free world, but guys from US, Canada and Neatherland are all supporting the icelandic crew. And this icelandic crew is growing lately !  Larus, and Gudmundur joined Hlynur, Petur and Hermann - and i know for a fact that it is just a matter of time before way more people from iceland embrace the project actively.

The target is 330 000 angry ppl in iceland - and we are now planning the campaign circle May 1 - and I would like people here to focus on that matter ! I don't want to spoil the show, but I know that one of the effort may be a massive bus station Auroracoin poster exposure (100 bus station geant posters for 1 week so we attract people attention). Not sure if it's already decided by the icelandic crew - but it was something they considered a lot, and I think it would be a very good (but somewhat expensive) approach.

What you guys think ?

Please save us the sentimental bullshit, we are all here to make money from AUR, there is far more countries in a less fortunate situation then Iceland but Iceland is a easy target to get on the crypto train because it's a small country and everyone is in one city. Change comes from within not from abroad, coins like NLG are run by Dutch people and there is a good chance they care about what they doing because they exacting change within their own borders.

This is the same as the US invading the middle east to bring about change, how has this worked out? All dealings within Iceland must be done by the foundation members who are from Iceland not by the foreign developers.

The "all" in your post suggests that you speak for many? Dont think so, what you basicaly say is "I am here to make profit". Maybe you would benefit from looking a litle bit further as your keyboard and your wallet. In your mind it's all about making profit, pulling someones leg or be the first to grab the candy. That exactly the attitude that brought us in the economic situation we encounter. Greed my friend is a very bad counselor... Due to that a lot of people lost the ability to understand that it's giving and taking, sowing and reaping and in that order also! You probably don't understand all this but you would benefit if you just used your brains instead of your mouth.

I do speak for you, please save us all from the "save the world lectures" that only kindergarten kids would take seriously.

Ouch... that indeed hurts. But also learnt a lesson not to panic sell but look at the market first and then decide what to do. It's still a gamble, but an educated gamble...  Wink
Maybe whitin a couple of years you laugh about that trade and look at your investment as a very good deal.

For Danslip: Please don't argue with one of the developers of AUR. Please take the time to read the entire OP to see that 90% of the people that post here are from the dev team.

ny2cafuse signature is community > dev and this is why I have stuck it out with AUR. Are you saying ny2cafuse is making a false statement and the community must back off because thsminer is a AUR dev?

Running windows 8.1 and it keeps deleting the new wallet every time I try to run it.

It says I don't have the right permissions even thought I am the admin. Anybody know a fix for this?

edit: Nevermind, I had to delete the old blockchain and resync it again. Windows acts weird when that's not done.

Forwarded your question to Mike and Jess.
