Gentlemen, I think we are all here for similar reasons. Fuse delivers exceptional contributions to AUR by working very hard at new code soon to be released in various wallets and tools. Also "the guy that uses the name Baldur Odinson" (sorry, don't know how else to call you  Wink ) has put in a lot of effort to raise awareness to AUR for quite a while now with great articles on his websites.

I think we are all working on getting this project forward in our own way. One thing I can set straight regarding the usage of the confusing account name "Baldur Odinson" is that I had PM contact with the owner a while ago and he tried to change it by our request. Unfortunately this is not possible without exceptional support from the BCT dev's. I just feel it's fair to disclose this, for I don't think there is intentional harm done here.

So, kuddos to you all, we are achieving great things together  Grin

My concern is not with his name, but with the personal text under his name.  This can easily be changed, as I have just done by adding "Criptoe Team member" under my avatar picture.

I will back off a bit on this discussion.  But first I will say this:

I don't agree with the request for trading hype.  If people want to try to create hyped up trading opportunities, they can do it outside of this thread.  Our focus should not, and will not, be creating trading opportunities for non-Icelandic citizens for the sake of making someone money.  If trading AUR for BTC profit is what people are in for, they should go buy a trading bot like C.A.T. and leave this thread to constructive discussion.

I'm just getting tired of this thread being dominated by talk of market capitalization and trading, for the sake of trading.  Let's get back on track and discuss real world use in Iceland, and how the community would like to see AUR get there.

Are you a hater or a participator?

There's plenty of aurora love to go around man.

I do my public relations work over at www.aurorapr.co.vu check it out.

Do you own auroracoin?

Do you buy, sell or hold?

What country are you from?

Do you share auroracoin story with your friends and family?

For your information, I'm part of the dev team.  I've already discussed my AUR holdings in this thread.  My country is listed in the OP under the team list.  I buy and hold, and sell when money is needed for development on my end, regardless of price.  I've told everyone close to me about what I'm doing with AUR, but I'm not marketing it to them because they don't live in Iceland.

Any other questions?

Thanks for the info. The more I learn about the economic and social situation
in Iceland the more unique and fascinating it seems. Even though it is slightly
off-topic, what sort of Bitcoin scene do you have over there?

Well you can't use Bitcoin for anything in Iceland, similar to Auroracoin. Perhaps there are a few merchants who will accept it but they are unknown to me. You can't buy or sell Bitcoin unless you use https://localbitcoins.com/, which is unreliable and prices often inflated.

As stated before we can't buy USD and SWIFT it to any exchange to buy Bitcoins, because of the currency controls. People here know Bitcoin is digital money similar to Auroracoin.

People in the Pirate Party are well aware of Auroracoin. It's the same for the Pirate Party as with others, it was/is hard for them to give it official support, with all the uncertainty surrounding Auroracoin. I'm sure they are all for it and will support it if it takes off.

One of the Icelandic Pirate party founders Smári McCarthy, http://www.piratar.is/thingmenn/sudur/1-smari-mccarty/, commented in the Icelandic news about Auroracoin when the airdrop started, http://www.ruv.is/frett/margt-oljost-vid-auroracoin and http://www.visir.is/auroracoin-hridfellur-i-verdi/article/2014140328708 (use google translate).

Smári ran for parliament for the Pirate party but didn't get a seat in the last elections. He was the nr. 1 person the Icelandic media contacted regarding Auroracoin.

May I ask that the dev team gives us dates for any developments they plan to release as this makes trading easier.

I sell auroracoin as a broker in south Africa and I need to communicate auroracoins roadmap to my clients.

In the past, developments such as the end of the airdrop, the burn and the launch of the website have resulted in predictable increases in price.

I expect furture developments to affect the price in the same way and if the dev team communicates dates for these developments in advance that can help auroracoin traders and brokers like me make better decisions that are in the best interest for the auroracoin ecosystem.

Thanks for the great work so far, go team!

How are South Africa people taking to AUR? Will they pump the price up over 40k?

Oh... ok... yeah, let us give you that.  Oh wait, aren't you public relations for AUR?  Shouldn't you already know that?  Oh... that's right, you have nothing to do with AUR.  You bring nothing to the table, and you "broker" AUR away from our target users.  Why would we want to help you do that?

Kick rocks.  While you're at it, change your profile tag.  I'm getting tired of you falsely claiming you have anything to do with AUR.

Yesterday, I ask Petur (Chairman of Aurora Fondation) if he was avalaible for some interviews.  Crypto news websites loves good story - I know some - and I feeled that the ''premime-Balduro'' affair was very interesting to share - and that some facts has to be presented.  Some misconceptions are floating around Auroracoin - so I feeled (and still) that 2-3 interviews would be a good opportunity to share a solid statement in that regard.

Pétur refused for now.  Why ?  His answer, directly copied from Skype (asked him if I can paste some part of the convo here, he did not answered for 2 minutes, so I take it as a ''yes'')

Pétur:  I would but just not yet Smiley
[5/18/2015 1:35:01 PM] Pétur Árnason: We are now very close to finish the first release
After that we will go full force to finish the sites and start with the initial promotion for the foundation here.
[5/18/2015 1:35:42 PM] Pétur Árnason: After that everything is open
[5/18/2015 1:36:07 PM] Pétur Árnason: I just think it's best to do it in that order as we would then have created a solid base
[5/18/2015 1:36:43 PM] Pétur Árnason: Also it's better going into an interview saying "we have done this" instead of saying "we are going to do this"

That give us a bit of perspective on how they see the whole thing.  It is a marathon, not a sprint to try to get exposure at all cost.  They are building, and if it have to be done properly, time is needed.  Most business take multi-years to start rolling, and some people expect that an attempt for a national currency would be done overnight.

Soltantgris : ''That's good. But in regard to interview, my first goal would have been to correct some misconceptions related to Aur"
[5/18/2015 1:43:52 PM] Pétur Árnason: Yes that is much needed.
[5/18/2015 1:44:15 PM] Yan - Soltantgris: As I already said, it is imo very important to have ''offficial story'' tell by you guys.
[5/18/2015 1:44:54 PM] Pétur Árnason: I intend to write a decent article to clear all that up and we can just point there when people are making false statements.

Most of us understand pretty well what the goals are, and how they intent to get there.  But ''they'' are free men, they don't owe us anything - they are mostly idealistic quys wanting good for iceland, and crypto as a whole.  This is a great target, probably one of the important journey in crypto, and more we will be to support - help in any way - more we have a chance to assist something great.

Marketting will come - and we should be freaking happy that these guys don't take short cuts for quick profit.  They are honest, hardworking, and I a lucky guys to know some of them.

I heard Pirate Party is big in Iceland, so wouldn't it make
sense for the AUR foundation to collaborate with them. At least
get publicity.

Have any steps been taken towards that direction?

@Danslip, you don't have to wait a year mate, as Bimmer stated, we are almost done. You have made it clear here many times you are in this to make money. That's fine with me, but it also means that you have to respect the choices made by the majority who want this coin to be a long term success. If you don't, you are more than welcome to try it your way yourself...  Wink
Maybe it's just me, but when someone from the dev team tells a community member they can fuck off if they don't like the way things are done, then maybe it is time to fuck off.

I don't know if it's just you, but it is your interpretation. And it might also be my poor English, for in no way I intended to tell anyone to F*ck off. So if my poor English confuses anyone I apologize!

You have taken ownership for the coin along with 9 others. YOU need to make sure that you back up your PR claims with reality and not excuses all the time. Look at the coins on coinmarketcap around AUR, you won't see any of them asking for a OSX wallet to be built. Hire more devs!!!!

We have not taken ownership my friend, we have taken up the responsibility to act upon the way we think this project is served best. That might not be aligned with your profitability wishes, so be it. You can keep complaining or act upon things yourself (you are so richly filled with AUR, you can hire DEV's as well!). Both are fine with me, but I'm not going to address your unfounded accusations anymore.

In a years time bitcoin will be all over Iceland. Your time is limited and urgent updates is needed from your team!!!!!! So stop with the talk and lets see more real updates, tired of waiting!

There are currency controls in Iceland. If anyone wants bitcoin, they have to sell ISK for USD, which is not possible because of the currency controls, then buy bitcoin.

If you see this happening within a year then great news for Iceland.

The whole idea behind Auroracoin is to give the people the coins, because we can't buy bitcoin without going to jail.

Rather keep posts like this off the ANN, for a coin that is meant to be almost half a million in marketcap should not be asking this questions. I can understand a coin that is $20k in marketcap needing help. This is why the price has fallen overnight.

i'm sorry, are you asking for LESS communication? That would be a first for a crypto community.

Danslip does not understand that this coin is not going for crypto tech innovation. It's a different goal, there is nothing wrong with AUR as it is, even with no development updates. Mainstream people can't tell the difference between what geeks call a shitcoin and advanced coin.
