He does have a point about the dev work mate, if the coin was named anything else and catering for something else it wouldn't even be a top 200 coin on coinmarketcap. It's a risk that Icelanders will adopt this coin over bitcoin that we are all taking here. So the development of AUR needs to be on par with bitcoin in order for Icelanders to accept it.

That's like saying that because the Euro is more widely used that they should use that too, is it not?  Look how far that got in Iceland.

I'm not Icelandic, but if someone asked me if I wanted to use someone else's currency, or my own currency, I would choose my own.  Something developed and marketed specifically for me and my country, for use in my country.  AUR development doesn't need to be on par with anything except AUR.  We don't need to compete with anything... we just need to make AUR a closed-loop currency that people will want to use in Iceland.  We can't code adoption.  We can develop it for everyday use, but ultimately it will be up to PR to push adoption.  Between the AUR Foundation and the Bitcoin Foundation, who do you think is going to be focusing more money and time on advertising in Iceland?

As far as our question goes, we were mostly asking about a OSX compile.  I'm sure you can find plenty of other coins that have done the same.  I can probably randomly click on any coin in the altcoin section, and they will all have some kind of request for help for something similar.  So I'm sorry, but I don't see his point.

Frankly, the talk of the market cap and trading is getting old.  If all people are worried about is trading AUR, then go trade AUR and let things happen here as they will.

Rather keep posts like this off the ANN, for a coin that is meant to be almost half a million in marketcap should not be asking this questions. I can understand a coin that is $20k in marketcap needing help. This is why the price has fallen overnight.

Wait, I'm confused.  Where has the price fallen?  The 1000AUR blip that you attempted to move the market with to cause chaos and create trading opportunity?  I guess that didn't work out so well for you, did it?  It's alright, mate.  There will be plenty of other opportunities for you to make money off of AUR without having any meaningful participation.

Fact of the matter is that we aren't as proficient with OSX compiles as we wished, and language differences make character translations in the GUI interesting.  So relax.  You're just in it to trade anyway.

Thanks Bimmer for the update !

As for ''skin'' and ''IOS'', I asked around to see if someone can jump in. It is a good way to get more and more people involved - and I would encourage dev team to see if there is other part of work that can be delegated, so we can expend our reach.

Keep rolling guys - and beep me if you need non-technical help (im good at BBQ, and I play guitar pretty badly)

@Danslip, you don't have to wait a year mate, as Bimmer stated, we are almost done. You have made it clear here many times you are in this to make money. That's fine with me, but it also means that you have to respect the choices made by the majority who want this coin to be a long term success. If you don't, you are more than welcome to try it your way yourself...  Wink
Maybe it's just me, but when someone from the dev team tells a community member they can fuck off if they don't like the way things are done, then maybe it is time to fuck off.

I don't know if it's just you, but it is your interpretation. And it might also be my poor English, for in no way I intended to tell anyone to F*ck off. So if my poor English confuses anyone I apologize!

A brief status update:

Code for the new wallets is more or less finished. Except for a character encoding problem with the version name. Some styling work also needs to be done.

The porting of Breadwallet for Auroracoin is also coming along nicely. Testing is underway and some graphics work being done there too.

Help wanted:

-QT code styling
-OSX compiling

If you can assist in either of these areas PM me.

Relax Danslip,

We are not Apple asking if anyone knows something about timepieces a week before the launch of iWatch, we are a group of dedicated and highly skilled developers trying to produce a solid base for general acceptance of AUR.

Bimmers question is not about anyone knowing how to compile an OSX wallet, we know that ourselves. His question is about someone who may know just a little more than us, so we can clear certain errors that have been in those wallets for years now (even still with BTC). As said many times before, we rather do this slow, but secure...

Remember, crypto is about community doing team efforts. This is not something a group of dedicated people calling themselves a DEV-team has to do on their own, we can and must ask for help from the community if that benefits the end result....

Don't tell me to Relax. The community just wants to see results that you promised us and not have to wait a year. In a years time bitcoin will be all over Iceland. Your time is limited and urgent updates is needed from your team!!!!!! So stop with the talk and lets see more real updates, tired of waiting!

I believe that it is important to make sure the wallets are as reasonably nice as can be, even it it incurs additional waiting time.

It feels like AuroraCoin is getting it's second wind, and an awesome looking and functioning wallet would be great to go with that.

Wish I could help, but do not have those skills.

It may be too late to share input, but here is my "Christmas list" of what would be good to see in a wallet:

The ability to change "skins", link to discussion sites, notification bar for example when updates are needed, a comma separating coin amounts, paper wallet capabilities using our own images.

The people of Iceland know what is best though for their coin and hopefully the wallet will focus on their desires foremost.

Thanks for reading.

Will price go back over 30k sat this week?

AUR marketcap need to reach into several millions to be in position to conduct 1-2% of annual icelandic trades. 1-2$ of purchasing power per unit. Will see how things progress (and i will help as much as i can) - and price will take care of itself.

For my part, i've been pilling AUR for a while now - and will only spend some when there will be stuff to buy with it !   (I keep hoping to visit some of icelandic Aur team next year and pay as much as possible with AUR!).

Wednesday, price will hit 35-40k.

Why do we antogonise the government of Iceland, do they deserve it?

Can the government decentralise through the pirate party?

Nobody ''antagonise'' government. I propose you re-read LTEX post - was pretty clear about it. Target is iceland population/merchands. When enought people will use AUR, then government may want to seek people's vote by embracing this new tech (as we see at some level for exemple in USA). If a lot of persons enjoy trading goods with AUR - politic party may be nervous to game it and/or act against it. ''Build the field, they will come'', or something aloug that.
