Canaan Offered me a lower price on a canceled order if I order it before tomorrow.....hmmmm

Same. Still doesn't seem worth it though. ROI is quite a ways out with that speed. Also their shipping costs for 1 to my home is 180 dollars. A R4 in comparison was 65.

Keep for now and add more A7. Antminer price (at least S9) won't go down, becuase A7 is far less efficient than S9.

How reliable they are? Better tan S9. Or also dropping like flies

rocksolid Smiley

S9 is expensive electronic waste (judging from my B1 units, after a half year ~50% have some kind of trouble)

Hi all,

Just wanted to inform that I have an underperforming unit and was communicating with Canaan back and forth with troubleshooting and software updates but still no fix for it.

I have 8 units and only one is underperforming.

Canaan offered me a new unit free of charge and free shipping!!

I accepted and they just processed it to be sent!

And I keep the underperforming unit!

Best service ever!

I just tried it. They laughed at my face. I don't get it.

See this code.
There is also a 88x A3212 chip version of the Avalon7.  Huh
Canaan Creative AvalonMiner 741.

This is getting real really soon?
Maybe a more efficient model or just with a greater hash rate ?

The controller firmware dated 2016-Dec-29 ran the fans continuously at 4000 rpm so I went back to the firmware that came with it..... Nov something something..  I couldn't see any advantage to using the newer firmware (other then quicker ramp up time and noisy fans) and was hoping someone with a more complete understanding of the firmware could tell us the advantages of the newer firmware..Thanx
The older fan control would fail to control the heat... Newer fan control keeps it under 90 degrees if possible where the old one it can go higher despite not turning fan up to max. In cold environments the fan will now run slower but in warmer environments it will run faster. Depends on whether you care about noise or the device lasting...

excellent, thanks for the info...time for a firmware swap....

Bitcoin is still accepted, correct?
What is the current shipping time after payment?
Using my own brand new Raspberry Pi would be okay correct, if they provide the image?

Yeah, you should just keep a backup pi around just in case.

But is ONE controller will fail, in case of Bitmain you lose the hashing power of one miner. But in case of Avalons you lose the hashing power of the whole string/bunch of miners connected to this controller. What is more acceptable for you?
This is one of those six of one and half a dozen of another type examples.

I REALLY REALLY love the controller option
I wish bitmain would get off their ass and do the same.
One IP/Control panel for multiple miners would be a heck of a lot nicer than having 12 tabs open lol

Usually you have no need to keep all your X tabs opened. Set up all your miners once and forget about them.  Wink
