In face for people ordered Avalon machines, it will be tragedy that they may will receive their machines after people who ordered chips and third-party assembly service.
Avalon machines are being assembled right now and chips are scheduled for shipping in a month or more. Then all those chips need to be distributed to assemblers, then boards assembled, tested and shipped to customers. I don't see all that done before Avalon machines are shipped.Base on previous many delays, I have reason to doubt when they will really ship the machines.

While it might be cheaper and faster to assemble units without a PSU, how would they test them reliably?
It's only the power cord that is not included (and probably also no antenna and white gloves). I guess we can skip the hex key ;-)

One thing I've wondered from Yifu's recent updates: He mentions scaling to a few thousand machines.... AFAIK batch #2 was 600 units and batch #3 900 units? How many trade-ins were there then?
Seems our difficulty estimates may be off a bit if a few thousand avalons are to be shipped in the coming months...
