And it's a laugh to see BFL's adds for their non-shipping 5GH. What do you do with those??? Or ASICMINER with their novel 2.5 BTC usb gimmick! Avalon is still the best option because once you have a rig you can add modules to it and it seems to me that batch#3 will have more slots. Not sure if #2 also. Perhaps... Anyone knows for sure?

So how much money do you think we are going to get out of our batch 2 avalons? It seems like batch 2 and 3 and all the bulk chip orders will go out at the same time, plus difficulty will continue to rise from other sources. At one point batch #2 pre orders were selling for 30k$ usd on ebay, now maybe 20k$? I'm just projecting the potential profit I will get from this I'm hoping for at least 15k return before difficulty skyrockets and melts the potential profit away.

ya know, as long as the damn thing pays for itself, first and foremost in USD ... then eventually in BTC spent on it... I would be fine with that. Anything after that is profit...which would be nice...but eventually gotta accept the fact it all goes toward securing the bitcoin network and thats why we partake in the adventure anyways. Profitable or break even.. =)
Im hoping its still profitable, and it probably will be...but waiting without news & its approaching a month past the apr 15th deadline, sucks.

Batch 2 miners are still going for $30k+ on ebay. One was sold this morning for $32k.

Personally I wouldn't buy a pre-order for more than $15k. If they ship in the next couple of weeks, I think you will definitely be able to make $15k with one in the next 2-3 months. After a month or two after that, I expect a sharp decline. Right now I expect a total return of maybe 20-35k for one assuming they ship relatively soon.

If shipping happens at the same time as batch 3 and the bulk chip orders or after butterfly labs, expect much less.

Has anyone actually got a response from their ticketing system. I have a ticket that is still "processing" after 3months  Smiley

Yes,

I have, so far, opened four tickets with them, two of which got a response.

But the problem is that on their shopping site there is a place where you can insert a phone number, this place is inside the billing address, I had my number there since day one, but it is not shown when you look at your order, #1077 for me.

So whoever sent the mail could not see it and/or could not access the complete billing address info, hence he sent the mail!

I got the same email (order #1089). It gave me a panic attack. There is no instruction about how to send them my phone number. That would have been helpful. So, I sent it through every possible avenue I could think of.

Domrada,

open a ticket on http://support.avalon-asic.com if you haven't already which is the only known way to communicate with them that I'm aware of.

Shit!

I got a similar mail, telling me there is no telephone number, which is wrong!

There is a telephone number, but it is inside billing address!

Shipping address has no space for telephone numbers.

I've just opened a ticket, let's hope they can find it out.
