2Good are you a customer or part of the business?

I just wonder how you get your deliveries before the rest of us.  Roll Eyes

Thanks for asking, I receive a quite some PMs about order numbers and ETA, hope that this makes it clear.
I'm a customer and definitely not part of the business.

I get early delivery because usually my order is one of the first and I get the chance to receive pre-production sample or first batch device. And of course my shipping is less than 24h - same country Smiley

Also what is the size of the fan?  92mm or 120mm?

Sorry about that I though it was clear that it is the same as HEX16A, anyway here is it:

HEX16A/B/A2 are equipped with 92mm fan SUNON EE92251S1-0000-A99 / 51.5 CFM / 34 dBA

Scam-Busting PSA: Beware of Black Arrow Software

Just a quick PSA, but if you're waiting for delivery, check your order history on the Technobit website, look at the bottom of the order details page and check if you've got any messages there. I've been waiting for an update on my mine, and just noticed that a note was added to ask me to clarify my delivery address a week ago. It's my fault for not checking this page regularly enough, but I didn't receive any email notification saying there was a query with my order or hint that a message has been posted to the site about it so I had no clue until I was just scouring the site for more details on my order progress. I've received all the regular 'newsletter' email updates, so I don't think it's a spam filter problem, more likely just a case of no notification emails generated when a query is raised on an order. Not casting any blame, just want to alert others to check their pages and avoid any delays like I've just had.

how many W should have the power supply for 7x boards?
750 W at least if I read the power figures right. Pay attention to 12v rail it should be at least 60 Amps. That power will let you run the boards overclocked
If I were you I shall go with 850 wats 70 amps 12v with tplink all powered from PSU only sharing common ground

Great review, very informative indeed.

Regarding

"As with the previous HEX board I highly recommend that you get one cheap TP-Link TL-MR3020 and flash it with the firmware from Technobit's website."

What is the need for this? Can I not just plug this miner to my pc psu and usb download the driver and the miner and ready to rock?

I bought a couple of these boards and really afraid it will be hard to get them working now. Obviously research is key but info about this product is next to none on the web, so once again I thank you!

Yes, you can just plug it into your windows host, install the driver and start mining. I recommend the router or any linux host as a better, flawless solution. You can give it a try with HEXMiner in windows and if there are some problems buy the router from you local retailer and flash it.

Excellent review and pictures Smiley
Any ideas on how you can link them together so uses one usb controller? What PSU would be the best ?

Thanks

Glad you liked it Smiley

There is no can-bus support in this revision of the board, so you'll need powered USB hub for more boards.

Do not need to be powered anymore.
Only Avalon gen1 based HEX16A requires powered hub.
With HEX16B and A2 you can used passive hub and to power even tp-link router from the boards and hub .
10x to our board designer for the efforts in this direction

Awesome. Just picked up 5 of them. Hope they ship soon.  Grin

I asked marto74 a couple of questions via pm, he answered one but ignored the shipping date question. I asked again and have gotten no response.

My 5850...took a beating for 2 and a half years, having been overclocked and overvolted in the past, mining 24/7 for weeks(in the overclocked state), reaching 90C sometimes, VRMs going over 120C without me noticing, and never once did I get a hardware error. And I still haven't.

So how come this device has any hardware errors at all?

With that said, me being from OP's and marto74's country, if I order this device, when exactly will I get it delivered? Will I have to pay duty or VAT? Delivered to my doorstep? I assume it's fully assembled and everything, I won't have to do any soldering? Apart from a PSU, it works out of the box?
