Quick question you guys...

will AWESOME MINER performance suffer if i mine it within a Virtual Machine?

I've got a powerful windows PC (1080ti) for gaming and work that i also want to use for mining but want to contain miners in Virtual Machine , installed w/ same, Win10 x64

Will Awesome Miner be less efficient? and by how many % on rough estimate?

and while we're at it, is this the same on all miners perhaps?

Patrike the HTTP API coin setting is wonderful, thank you very much. I am making extensive use of it.

As another line item, can you please add the ability to create new coins via the API as well? The plugins I'm writing/hope to be distributing sorely need it.

Something along the lines of:
POST http://mypc:17790/api/coins/NEW?longname=COIN_NAME&shortname=CNNME&algo=skein

Thank you!
Request to the top!
I've noted your request, and I fully understand your requirement.
Thank you!!

FEATURE REQUEST:
On these Canaan Miners, an rPi3 acts as a controller for up to 20 different miners.

Would it be possible to take the API information from cgminer, which appears to support all the miners on the rpi, broken out into their own section and show them as individual as opposed to one monolithic miner.

Each with their own temp, stats, etc.  Similar to how you break down GPU cards in a miner?

Thanks

do you have the  A721/741 showing in awesome miner ? ... I'm assuming you mean the avalon 7series .

yes, 721/741/821/841 all use the same basic approach and yes I have 4 miner on one rPi and it's only showing one AV7 which is an aggregated view of the 4, and I'd like to see the 4 individually, they are each reported in the cgminer API

In profit switching, I'd like to run one miner for 1 hour (and it would switch), then another miner for 1 hour (same rules but different payment address), then the first one for 1 more hour...

In essence, I need a timer. I couldn't find a way to do that. Is there?

you have to set a Time Trigger rule for a specific time, day or on a regular interval an use templates it works best using templates  an there is a rule for Profit mining .

and profit mining does have that look under the Profit Switching tab under options it lets you set some of those setting ...

Rule setup
http://www.awesomeminer.com/help/rules.aspx

How do you get into the rules section? Can't see it under Options

go to the opitons in the main miner windowns top bar

then look in the middle of the list .

you may not see it or be able to use it unless you have that part of awesome miner unlocked. I can't remember i unlocked all most all of AM when i started using it last year.

Thanks a lot. In the first example, can I specify which miner I want to start/stop. Should I send the stop command and give it time to do so before sending the start command (1 min later)?

first make all your temp plates for whatever pools your gonna set it up to switch to :

then in the top tab/frame set time

for whatever time of day you want, an days, uncheck what you don't want etc ..you can even set it to repeat back and forth every few hours.

the tab/frame below it add applied temp plate  it should switch to the templates you have without a stop commend or auto stop then start on the next pool  ... that's about it i haven't really played with much else beyond that . but you can set up timers to stop then restart or even reboot the rig before it switches once it reboots it starts the next pool .

you can do it for all most a endless a mount of timers and it works best using templates. whats nice about templates if there set up right it won't mater what coins you mine . i saw a few pages back some one had  timers running for profit switch doing about the same thing .  I couldn't find it , i don't use profit switching much, i set timers and switch every few hours sense i mine and hold.

I've tested it today and the hash rate for all types of Nvidia cards is the same as EWBF and it does not seem to worth it. Also it have me errors that miner was not able to connect and download updates, it starts mining only after 10 consecutive update errors.
The has rate from website is not better than EWBF.

Maybe somebody else can test and confirm.

it works better for me then EWBF and DSTM i get maybe 3 to 5 sol more then both using bminer .. with bminer if you want to you can turn off the fee i don't but you can. my beef is the fee with DSTM and if the dev would start updating EWBF again id be a happy camper , as I'm  sure a lot of us would ..

I didn't get any error yet with bminer and everything work fine for me . I also don't use the bat it came with I couldn't get it to work with the Default bat file, i use my own made up bat file once I learned what commands i can use . and my cards are over clock with either Samsung or micron memory.

my 1060 6gb gets about or around 353 Sol over clocked . id have to check my others ....

It seems it is from OC settings, try and see what happens with 0 OC. Also because you mixed different types of gpus on the same rig, intensity is also problematic. try to lower all cpu, memory and intensity and also use EWBF because has a similar hasd rate on equihash.

Miner02 has six identical Zotac 1060 3GB cards in it.  Miner09 has six identical EVGA 1060 3GB cards in it.  So those 2 rigs have identical cards, as do most other rigs, but yes, there are a few exceptions.

I have dialed back to 0 OC now and will run like that to see if the issue goes away.  I'll also give EWBF a shot.  I was running that before DSTM came out.  EWBF seems to have been abandoned by its author, which is the main reason I switched.

Thanks!

It doesn't matter if they're identical, i have some cards that have bad memory which works with -100 lower mem clock than the others. Even if the memory is identical like Samsung / Samsung

I think there might be a bug in the "GPU settings" feature.  When I look at my miners here, I have them all arranged in the order I want, and I have "Set name" on all my GPU's to what I want:

http://www.cstone.net/~dk/AW_Miners_2_8_18.JPG

However, when I select all my GPU miners and then go to GPU Settings, I get this:

http://www.cstone.net/~dk/AM_GPU_Settings.JPG

So for almost all my rigs, the GPU model is missing, and the sort order does not match what I have in the miner view.

Also, I'm only doing Equihash using DSTM 0.5.8 right now.  And I have my clocks set to pretty conservative values, but on my 1060 rigs, DSTM will still lock up on occasion and AM is unable to do anything about it.

Examples:

http://www.cstone.net/~dk/miner02gpufail-01.JPG

http://www.cstone.net/~dk/miner09gpufail-01.JPG

http://www.cstone.net/~dk/miner09gpufail-02.JPG

I have my 1060 rigs dialed all the way down to +100 Core and +450 memory now (at 75% power).  When I was running nvOC, I could do +130 core and + 600 memory all day long, so I'm not sure what's up.  I'll keep reducing the clocks until it becomes stable I suppose.  It will often run for a good 24 hours right now before it hangs as shown above.  It sure would be nice if AM would be able to detect this and restart DSTM.

Hi, i've been using the miner and i have  some ideas about improving the graphical interface:

- when you search for awesome miner agents put a field in the wizard to enter the password, so you don't have to enter the password for each host - if you add lots of miner it is tiresome to modify each one.
- add a checkmark in miner properties to get the worker name from the description, so you don't have to always check "add to worker name" and type the worker for each miner
- make a "clone" button for the managed hosts section
- make the hw errors text color in webserver red so it pops out and see it better
- make a button to map all the selected miner gpus to system monitoring
- maybe add a tooltip so when you hover with the mouse above the miner after 2 you can see the  details ( command line arguments and configuration )
- in the right click menu add an option to rdp ( remote desktop ) to the miner
- important - add an option to remove all income/revenue data in the dashboard  from the view only / control view user roles

patrike, any feedback on this, especially the last one as i want to give access to employees to monitor the miners without them seeing the revenue

Thank you

templates

http://www.awesomeminer.com/help/managedtemplate.aspx

Code:
Example: Run GPU mining during a specific time
This example shows how to start the mining at 8 AM (08:00) and stop the mining at 7 PM (19:00). Please note that two individual rules are required for this setup, one to start the mining and another one to stop the mining.
Rule specification:

    Description: Start in the morning
    Trigger: Time
Trigger on time: 8 AM (08:00)
    Action: Miner command
        Command: Start miner

Rule specification:

    Description: Stop in the evening
    Trigger: Time
Trigger on time: 7 PM (19:00)
    Action: Miner command
        Command: Stop miner

Example: Change mining pool three times per day
This example shows how to change to Pool#1 at 7 AM (07:00), then change to Pool#2 at 3 PM (15:00) and finally change to Pool#3 at 11 PM (23:00). The interval and number of pools to change between can be modified to fulfill other requirements as well. This example consists of 3 individual rules that all must be enabled. All pools must be predefined in the Options dialog, Pools section before defining the rules.
Rule specification:

    Description: Set Pool#1
    Trigger: Time
Trigger on time: 7 AM (07:00)
    Action: Miner command
        Command: Change pool
        Pool: Pool#1

Rule specification:

    Description: Set Pool#2
    Trigger: Time
Trigger on time: 3 PM (15:00)
    Action: Miner command
        Command: Change pool
        Pool: Pool#2

Rule specification:

    Description: Set Pool#3
    Trigger: Time
Trigger on time: 11 PM (23:00)
    Action: Miner command
        Command: Change pool
        Pool: Pool#3
