Feature suggestion:  would be cool if you could integrate with TeamViewer and/or VNC so you could quickly remote into a rig right from the AM miner list.

I'm mining MONA on a single 1070.  WhatToMine says it should be making $3.89 per day and AM is showing $3.93.  That's great.  But once or twice an hour AM will drop to $2.47 or something and then in a little while go back to $3.93 or whatever.  Any idea why this would be?  My hash rate is steady.  When I notice this happen I quickly bring up WhatToMine and it hasn't changed.

Anyone know if Awesome Miner can interact with rigs that are running on Simple Mining OS?

I really love Awesome Miner, but i am coming to ends with Windows itself. I have been having lots of pains with the recent changes of Windows and rigs that were super stable previously have been having random issues with the recent updates, but if i stick a thumb drive with simple mining os on the exact same rig, it becomes stable again and im no longer chasing a fan issue i have been having with my windows rigs recently. I really prefer Awesome miner due to how easy it is to use along with my ability to use it for profit switching, but im having random gpu's running away with temps and the windows miner not stopping the gpu from mining to protect it....

Not sure if im the only one having this issue, but i have been having issues with the GPU's unable to properly throttle itself with set max temp settings and adjust fan speeds via default values. Its like windows is lagging to make the communication or the drivers with the devices is having conflicts, but it started occuring with the most recent forced windows major update.

The past 3-4 weeks i have had a handful of GPU's get stuck so the fan % is locked at lets say 40% fan speed, but the temps of the GPU slowly kept climbing without the fan speed ever changing. Then i get notifications that my GPU is running hot and i have to literally fully power off the rig to gain control back of the GPU.

Example, today 1 of my 1080ti's was stuck at 27% fan speed that it dropped down to during the night period due to ambient temps in my garage in the 40's F, but during the day the temps got back up to the 70's and the GPU was running at 94C when i got home to fix it with the fan speed still stuck at 27%.

1. With Mining Pool Hub do I need to create a worker under every single coin it might mine when using Profit Switching?

2. How do you go about setting up dual mining with Ethereum/Siacoin? It appears Ethereum/Decred are currently the only ones supported?

3. Any idea why my Profit Switching miner shows Monacoin as the most profitable coin in the Coins tab but AM continues to make it mine Neoscrypt Feathercoin which is down near the 5th in profitability? I have done the benchmark and checked everything I can think of without luck.

1. No.  MPH will automagically create the workers.

2. I've disabled Siacoin as it was trying to dual mine Eth/Sia and Sia has an exchange problem currently.  I haven't been able to get Eth/Decred to run, (though I haven't really tried).

3. Profit Switching only switches algorithms, it's up to MPH (or whatever pool is being used) to decide on the coin.  As to why, AM is choosing lyra2RE2 over Neoscrypt, check "Online Services" and select the pool you are using.  That will show in order, the most to least profitable algos.

Thank you - so WTM profitability doesn't come into play at all? I am guessing your benchmark in AM helps AM decide which algo to use and then MPH decides which coin per algo to use?

It uses WTM to get the stats used to determine profitability taking into your benchmark results.  By default, these are updated every 15 minutes but you can change this.  In theory if you input the exact benchmark results for your hardware into wtm, it should show a similar result but bear in mind even a few seconds difference and they might not be the same.

What does everyone use the Group feature for?  I am thinking I will use it to group my rigs by AMD and Nvidia GPU so that I can switch pools on a per-group basis.

To Devs and Friendly miners (trolls... well okay you too)

Hey guys.

I'm fooling around with the Balance section of this software.
The builtin block explorer works for the coins loaded on that site.
Also, I've read the help section
http://www.awesomeminer.com/help/coinbalance.aspx

Now I'm trying to put the balance in for
Bitcoinz, ZenCash, Hush

I've googled some block explorer sites for these coins... but I want to add them to the Balance section.

I was hoping for some guidance on how to setup the Balance section for these coins.

Any insight lads?

thanks for the update and control of the password field for yiimp style pools. I've definitely seen a huge drop of users asking for currency changes!

Cheers

hello, I just downloaded another AM on my nvidia laptop to run while I am not using it. I set it up, benchmarked it, but it only benchmarked a few, then I tried to run it after. But it keeps popping up the miner for a second then disappearing and saying interface offline on AM GUI. I looked in the logs and this is what it shows.
Code:
12/13/2017 2:10:52 AM.799 [010] [E]System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (503) Server Unavailable.
12/13/2017 2:10:52 AM.799 [010] [E]   at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse()
   at PE.Infrastructure.Web.HttpRequestHelper.GetResponseString(HttpWebRequest req)
at PE.Infrastructure.Web.HttpRequestHelper.PerformPost(String url, String postData, WebProxy proxy, CookieContainer cookieContainer, Dictionary`2 headerDict, Boolean throwException, Boolean preventUnescapeOfSlash, String contentType, String requestMethod)

Any help would be much appreciated, as I have no clue what would cause this and have not been able to find any info as of yet to help.

Can anyone help with this? I see other people here haveing the same problem but have not received help either.

First things first... it's not a good idea to run mining software on a laptop.  They don't have the ability to keep your laptop cool for long periods of time that you would be mining.  You could potentially damage your laptop.

That being said, if you still want to try... What model GPU is in the laptop?  Which benchmarks did it complete?  Are you using a managed miner or a profit miner?  Which pool are you using?  What coin or algo are you trying to mine?

Well, now with my luck I am having the same problem with my 3 rx 580 rig. It has benchmarked all algos but was only mining to miningpoolhub with the profit miner mining all available algos.

Now for my laptop. Yes I know that it is not good to mine a lot with it, I only have it run at night in the nice and cool basement along with my 580 rig. My laptop has a NVidia GTX 1060 in it. I am currently having it benchmark again because I had deleted and re-installed the program and my miner so I cannot name off the top of my head what it was able to benchmark. I have that connected to miningpoolhub and zpool.

On both of them when I click the miner and start it, it says "interface offline" and they both give me the same error in the logs.

Thank you for your reply and help.

Can I have some directions for setting Monacoin Lyra2RE2 on managed miner with miningpoolhub. Thanks.

1. Setup the pool first.  use hub.miningpoolhub.com:20593 as the URL.  Put in some login name for the worker name... make it something simple like "puwaha"... then put in puwaha.   Then just make your password x

2. Login to the monacoin pool at miningpoolhub.com and go to the workers option.  In the Add worker section, add the worker name... in my example above, it's puwaha... and then password of X.  Then on the right hand side, you need to add the rig name... maybe rig1

3. Now go back to AM and setup the managed miner... make sure the algo, coin, and pool are correct.  Tick the box to "Add to worker name", and make it match what you called your rig in step 2 above on the miningpoolhub.com web page.  This option will combine the worker name of "puwaha" with "rig1" to make the complete worker name of "puwaha.rig1" which is what miningpoolhub is expecting.

I like to pre-populate worker names at sites like Miningpoolhub or Suprnova so that there is no chance of getting rejected.  I know they are supposed to auto-add worker names, but I guess I'm OCD about that.  Smiley

Using a remote miner, AM says the interface is offline but the miner is running and the remote port is working.  Using Claymore CryptoNight.  It sometimes works but sometimes not.  I have another remote rig where it's working all the time.

You have setup an external miner?  Are you running linux?  If you are running windows then put the agent on the windows box and use a managed miner instead.  If it's linux, maybe increase the status update interval from the default of 5 seconds.  The CPU of the external miner may be taxed if you are running a cryptonight miner as many of those will mine with your CPU as well as your GPU.

Any help please.... Trying to add Lux (using Nvidia managed miner)

I was able to add algo phi per FAQ instructions, added phi under online services with Zpool, however I still do not get a $ / day calculation.

I have tried this with other non default coins and cannot get this right, can someone please tell me how to get these stats working?

I can manually enter difficulty and market price and this works, however it is not "live" I suppose this is what I am asking for.

Thanks   (BTW I have gone over the FAQ/Help sections many times)

I've not been super successful in doing custom coins either.  It works when I add the difficulty, block reward and market price.  But if I add the custom coin JSON then it seems to cancel it out... so I just update the data every now and then.  I would suggest you don't use custom coins in a pool group for profit mining, as you will not have up to date info for AM to make the proper decisions.

I am monitoring the zpool stats for a while and according 24hour actual results, equihash algo is at third row, followed by neoscrypt and decred is at around 10th row, at the time of writing.

On the other hand, awesome miner displays highest profit on decred (over 6USD/Kh/day) all day long, and chooses this one for mining.

Can someone explain me why its happening this way? equihash algo appears most profitable (for a long time), when we look to actual 24hr numbers, but its never selected and revenue/profit of equihash consistently stays at 3USD, at "online services" tab, for several days.

I am currently mining zcash outside of AWM, and easily getting around more then 6usd/Kh/day for more then 24 hr, while awesome miner consistently selects other algos.

Do anyone have an explanation why its happening this way?

If you right-click on the profit-miner and click on View Details, it will give you a list of the last few changes, and show you the list of coins it used to determine the most profitable at the change.  It's highly dependent on the profit profile, so did you benchmark your card type and save it as a profit profile?

Hi guys just joined the forum am new to mining in general.

I installed Awesome Miner and have an nvidia GPU.

I'm using the Profit Miner and is there any one particular algo that I should use over others?

Should I have just one algo checked or leave it all on default?

I want to get the max out of my system.

Make sure you run the benchmarking tool in Awesome Miner, and then save the profit profile.  Then in your Profit Miner settings select this newly saved profit profile.  This will help Awesome miner pick the best algo for your card.

I apologize if this has been asked before, is there a way to integrate prohashing profitability? Using prohashing since nicehash is offline and can't see profitability.

(for antminers not GPUs)

This is really doing my head in!!!  Somehow by fiddling around I have lost equihash from my nvidia profile.  I mean it's there!!!  I can see lots of mining software ready to mine equihash, enabled etc.  But no equihash shows up for the nvidia profile when I go to benchmark.

I have checked everything and cannot see what has gone wrong.  I'm starting to think it's a bug, I've broke it somehow.

Help!?

FIXED IT.

YES it was a bug.  Restarting the software and equihash suddenly appears again.

Patrike, is there any way to change miner type from Managed Miner to Managed Profit Miner and back? Some tips?
It would be extremely helpful.

Is it not possible to create another miner for the same rig?

The problem here is now you are using two of your license counts for one rig. I currently have it set up this way, one managed miner, and one managed profit miner per rig. My 20 rigs are using all 40 licenses I've paid for. When i add my next rig, changing the miner type under different scenarios would end up being a huge inconvenience. There are times when i want auto-switching based on WTM profitability and other times i want to mine new coins that are not listed. Having to remove a profit miner and add a managed miner to the same host and Awesome has now gone from helping to obstructing.

I'm sure with the proper feedback and suggestions, Patrike will improve the software. Thats what i love the most about aweome miner, the support is first class.

Patrike, is there any way to tie the license limits to managed host instead of managed miners? Or maybe have settings for both managed miner and profit miner in the same profile, and just a switch as suggested above to toggle between the two for each miner?

Yeah I wish we could do things like enable or disable specific video cards or tell the profit miner to just do a specific thing for a while without having to create a new 'miner' and waste a license. Maybe the license terms would be fairer if we could only monitor or start a certain amount of miners at once, but could at least create as many as we want to play around and test things.
Yes I too have had to buy the 10 license version so that I can have 3 miners defined for each of my 3 rigs. Still very restricting, I would like to try many different setups.
