The main idea of the new version is to be much more flexible in configuration of algorithms, pools and mining software. You should be able to add any number of additional algorithms, add new pools (like zpool and more) for these algorithms, and then configure the mining software to use the new algorithms.

The screenshot belows shows how you can customize ccminer. If you add your own algorithm, it will show up in the list and you will be able to specify the command line argument that ccminer would expect for this algorithm.




The configuration of Online Services, where you can customize the existing and also add new Nicehash/Zpool/MPH pools on your own. If a new algorithm is supported on Zpool, just add it in the Algorithms section first, then go in here and add it for Zpool.



The general concept is to have less hardcoded setting in Awesome Miner, and make them configurable as illustrated below. This gives the power users more flexibility and a better understanding of what's going on.

Awesome Miner won't start after installing the update.....
Update: nvm, got it working by removing the custom coins and algos.

Would you consider adding chaincoin, dgb for other algorithm like skein, and new skunk algorithm for SIGT??

What went wrong?!
If i start the mining manual just hitting the start button and all goes correct?Huh
I think you need to compare if there are any differences in the command line that is used to start the mining software. If the software is already running, you will find this if you click the View Details button.

At timecode 21:43 i switched the monitor on/moved the mouse and the system crushes.
After that the miner startet automaticaly and tries to begin again but the "mining dos windows" opens,
closes, stop - windows opens, closes, stop... at the end awesome miner stops complete after severals turns.

can anybody see whats wrong:

Hello!

Thanks for the work with AM. I've been trying it for a couple of days and I'm impressed with it. I'm using it to emulate the NHM client because AM offers way more flexibility and more algorithms than the official NHM client.

In my testing I've noticed the following:

From what I empirically understand, the hash rate of the Profit Profiles is the sum of the hash rates of all GPUs (or profiles if using group profiles). So, if I have 2 GTX1060 my effective hash rate is 40.6 MH/s (instead of the default 20.3 MH/s). I did some quick calculations comparing the NHM benchmarks and it seems that this is the case. From these calculations I've noticed that the way AM calculates Dual Mining profitability seems incorrect. I say this because there's no place to write down the custom hash rate for the dual mining (ETH+DCR / ETH+PASC / ETH+LBC / ETH+SC), only the hash rate for ETH and the other coins separately. The problem with this is that ClaymoreDual will never run the second coin at full speed, but only at a fraction of the speed without sacrificing ETH speed (adjusted by the -dcri value), so simply adding the ETH profitability plus other coin profitability will place dual mining higher than it really is.

To confirm this I wrote down the speed of the second coin benchmarks from the NHM client in the coin speed in AM. After doing this the profitability values of both clients were pretty close and dual mining in AM started to reflect the actual speed of the ClaymoreDual miner. So, my suggestion is to define the speeds for dual mining separately from the rest of the algorithms and make the profit calculations for dual mining based on these speeds. The speed of the other coins is now too low just to make dual mining calculations work correctly.

On another topic, it would be nice if we could had the option to hide the console for the managed profit miners. I've seen this option is available for the normal managed miners.

It would also be great if there was a way to monitor the NiceHash balance. I tried to do this by creating a new coin and pointing to the NiceHash API with my API key but I simply got an update failure. I know this isn't the NHM client, but it would be a really nice feature.

I also found an issue with Nist5 algo, every time it runs I get an "Invalid GPU parameters" or something like that. I tried it with CcMiner SP-mod and CcMiner-Alexis. While this happened, I noticed the miner restarting several times until it finally stopped but didn't start again. It would be better if AM switched to the next profitable algorithm and try again in a few minutes instead of completely stopping.

Another issue I found is with grouping profiles. I made a profile with the hash rates for 1 GTX1060. This profile have SHA-256 disabled (and other difficult algos too). Then I made a group, added this profile and chose 2 (for my 2 GTX1060). Everything works as it should, except in the Coins and Online Services tab. If I choose the GTX1060 profile in this tab, all the services update correctly and make calculations based on 1 GTX1060, but if I choose the group I made early (2 GTXT1060) then the SHA-256 goes to the top with a high profit. Remember that I disabled this algorithm and even put its hash rate at 0 MH/s. (screenshots http://imgur.com/a/2zkDY)

Other than that, I've found the software really useful and complete, only a bit clunky in some places (like having to create 4 profiles just to specify -dcri values).

I think you may have a setting wrong, because the 2 ccminers in the software can mine both of the coins you just mentioned between the 2 of them.

With the actual update there is only one new miner (ccminer alex 1.0) wich can mine lbry/sib - for nvida ofcourse.
So this is brand new Wink

But with ccminer alex 1.0 i have problems with the hash rate. Sometimes it seems that AM get only one card and iam mining with 250MH,
or 3 cards and iam mining with 1000MH and sometimes i get the correct 1800-2000MH (like ccimner 2.0)
This i can only "fix" with a manual "stop mining" and "start mining"

This is a benchmarking from another software not awesome miner, patrike is working on something in the future for benchmarking, but tell then i have just been trying to provide the community help to keep people up to date until he can get that feature out. I currently do not own any RX series AMD cards, but plan to purchase atleast 1 in the future along with a Vega to do testing with so i can stay ontop of the info myself. I dont own any AMD cards because during the periods i bought most of my equipment the amd cards were out of stock or overpriced, so i currently have 11 rigs of 1080ti's

The Generic Miner concept is currently not supported for Profit switching. A Generic Miner is a miner where you need to specify every single command line option yourself, because Awesome Miner doesn't even know what the parmeters should look like for setting the pool and so on. In your case it might work better if you use Ccminer as the mining software.

I'm currently doing implementation in this area, so there will be improvements and more flexibility here soon.

The main configuration file is ConfigData.xml located in %appdata%\AwesomeMiner folder. In this folder you also have two backup files, ConfigData.xml.tmp and ConfigData.xml.bck. The idea is that if a file becomes corrupt, Awesome Miner will still be able to recover your settings using the other files.

What you can do is to send me all your configuration files and also the log file (from toolbar: Tools -> Log File). With this information I might be able to tell what happend and maybe even recover your settings.

It's very uncommon that you get multiple corrupt files on disk, which is why in almost all crashing scenarios, Awesome Miner can recover.

I could change the lower limit of the switching a bit, but keep in mind that you may waste a lot of your hashes if you switch that frequently. First of all it may take a few seconds for you mining software to make the change and some pools may favor miners that works for longer period of times.

I'm currently working on some changes to how algorithms, pool services like nicehash/zpool/MPH and mining software are configured. This will allow you to add any new zpool algorithm, with statistics and profit switching support without waiting for a new version of Awesome Miner.

Edit: I did read your full PM on this topic, so I fully understand that zpool do allow faster switching than what you can configure today.

I really appreciate the response, just to add to the switching time reasoning. I ran multiple 4 card rigs on different intervals for a few days, initially my 30/60 minute intervals were leading, but what i found after running these test multiple days on zpool, was when the small shit coins with super inconsistent profits have their crazy spikes like they do a few times a day for a few minutes. You will see them spike for like 5 or 6x their normal profit values for x amount of minutes, sometimes i have caught spikes for less than 3 minutes at 10x levels, so after catching enough of these over a 24hr period for multiple days the results on my rigs i was testing with changed...

Basically on the longer 30/60 minute intervals, they pulled ahead on the days the market is very slow and not alot of trade volume or volatility is occurring on the coins, but after running my test for 4 1/2 days the last 2 days of the testing i had a lot of spikes occur, which resulted in my 1 minute interval rig overcoming the gap in earnings and pulled ahead by a good margin tell the spikes went away on the 1/2 day before my testing was interupted by hardware issue due to power cutting out for multiple hours from thunderstorm, which also caused me to suffer multiple gpu loss....

since then, i have left 1 rig on 30 and placed all my others on 1 minute intervals and even tho the 30 minute interval is not trailing by much, but over 2 weeks of running it this way on zpool, the super high spike days just keep the earnings just slightly higher by about 3-5% on most days, so with the crazy traffic going on with btc soaring back up after the segwit scares, the spikes have been steadily pulling daily about 5% a day on earnings..

the few days that btc was around 1800-2000, the 30 minute interval blew past and stayed ahead for a few days tell this current week in mining...

to bad their is not some sort of indicator you could easily add to the software to detect the estimated best interval time based on volatility... because 1 super crazy high spike will pump your mining wallet in a very short period of time, all while your still mining away at something else during a 30 minute window..

I have always wondered if you could set like a hybrid profit switch set of rules, basically use the 24hr actual earnings JSON data as the main source of info for the profit switching, basically mine the coin with the highest AVERAGE 24hr profit earings rate per hardware, then throw in rules which would check the server every 60 seconds for possible high spikes, then set up rules if profit from new coin is higher than 2x or 3x current mined coin, then switch, otherwise continue to mine current most proifitable 24hr earning algo...

This type of switching would limit the amount of switching unless there is multiple coins within pennies of each other in 24hr profit earnings, but it could potentially catch the super high spikes to add extra to the wallet. The longer mining periods on the 24hr coins would allow you to get the long block bonuses as from my research, the coins with highest 24hr profits for my 1080ti rigs maybe change 1-3 times a WEEK, so the same algo would be mined for longer periods of time... I think this would potentially be the highest way to make earnings off a pool like zpool, but not MPH

The best way to fix this would be to implement a fixed percentage of profitability before the miner switches to a different algorithm. For example, set the miner so that it doesn't switch unless it 10-20% more profitable.
So the miner isn't constantly switching, if profitability is very close. Then you would still have the miner check for profitability at a short 60 sec interval to catch the high spiking coins.

This way you still catch the spikes in profitability, while not wasting time, constantly switching.  ex. -P 10% -I 60  Really wish Nemos would do this for his miner.
But honestly I don't think it would really make a difference, once you point a huge hashrate at a sh*tcoin, difficulty goes up and the profitability drops pretty fast.
That's probably why you only see a 3-5% difference in longer intervals vs shorter ones.

For this point, I think you can save and restore this path:

C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\AwesomeMiner
