This was supposed to be published quite a bit earlier and become our second anniversary announcement, but 2020 is not known for caring about your plans, so we have only got around to it now.

Nevertheless, we still think it will be useful for us to release a general update on how things are going overall and what has been happening.

In the first year, the service saw a lot of innovation. In comparison, during the second year things have stabilized, and the focus has been more on polishing the existing functionality, squashing bugs on the website and perfecting our practices for processing incoming orders, support requests and other inquiries.

Still, there have been a few notable changes that are worth summarizing:

We have released a small set of /?videos]educational videos, one explaining the general idea of mixing and its usefulness, and the other with step-by-step directions on how to use our services in particular.
After the Bitcoin halving in spring, our mixing terms (the commission and the minimum amount) were updated.
We have switched away from Protonmail and set up a support mailbox on our own domain, for the sake of greater control. Support(at)[banned mixer] is always ready to assist you!

We are glad that more and more of you are choosing our service, but with popularity comes increased attention from scammers.

Today we want to warn you about two more scam clones: mixtumcfwzgwbf5q (dot) onion and mixtumm4rtq2kfqe (dot) onion. The first fake was linked at thehiddenwiki.com, the second — at bitcoinmixer.reviews.

Both look like perfect mirrors of mixtum5lbuslyow2.onion, which is our true onion address. They even have the correct link to our clearnet website and correct contact information. However, if you initiate mixing on one of these, you will be given an input address that belongs to the scammers, and we will never receive your coins. You will be given a normal-looking Letter of Guarantee, except it won't pass verification, because the BTC address in it has been replaced.

These clones are likely operated by the same people, and so far we know about two of them, but there may be more. If you happen to run into any other sites like these, please let us and others know about them.

What you can do to protect yourself:

Bookmark the only real address of MixTum on Tor: mixtum5lbuslyow2.onion.
Double-check the address you are using from reliable sources (https://[banned mixer] and https://jambler.io/mix-coins.php).
Always verify the Letter of Guarantee you receive after filling the mixing form.
...and just remain watchful in general.
