I think the support stems from the low value in part.
I made my p2pool for bbq because if I messed something up there would be less forum vitriol.
It's been fun even if I'm a bit lacking in miners right now.

Although I'm not against making a bit of money too! I'm goona snap up a few 0.0001 coins.

Think of it as a 15 cent wing special!

Nothing for that trading pair right now.

On Bter.com I am impressed that BBQcoin can go so low but them come back from it.

It shows there is a impressive support base.

linux builds added: http://bbqcoin.darkgamex.ch/

Saved me the time of building it, thanks.

Oh you built it with libdb4.8, the repos only have 5.1. Looks like I'll just build it myself. Tongue
you should read the "WARNING" in the README about >5 libdb, if you need the libdb4.8-dev add this repo:
ppa:bitcoin/bitcoin

libdb4.8 should be in any repo so far i know.

EDIT: i gonna try build static builds later, so no need to install libs Smiley

The next BBQcoin Windows Client update in is full progress now and once finished, a small testing phase will begin, once ready, I will post the news on here and you can download it on the official website http://blog.bbqcoin.org

Thanks

That's fantastic.  I noticed the other day that there are some RPC calls that the current Bitcoin client has that BBQcoin doesn't -- any chance of these being added?  I'm planning some projects that I would like to use on several coins with a minimum of porting difficulty. Smiley

In response to anyone that thinks I started the BBQcoin website for profit that's your opinion but I know that I support this coin only because I like it.

I make my profit from other projects.

I don't need to make money selling bbqcoins as I like having them.

It my seen strange but it's just the way it is.

Sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction.
REM: we (both of us) clearly stated we do it "only for fun" in the old thread.

Almost 3 million feathercoins were mined in the first 24 hours. Same effect as a pre-mine.

someone created the term insta-mine here in the forum..  Cheesy

Sergio actually may have tracked Satoshi's mining, maybe same technique can be applied to these new chains.

The nonce or extra nonce or both do not get zeroed nor randomised between blocks.

So if you got to a certain nonce and solved a block, next block you continue on sequentially through nonce and extra nonce values, something like that.

So by looking at blocks and seeing which ones have monotonically increasing extra nonce, or some such detective-work, Sergio thought he had figured out Satoshi's mining from the early days.
