Well y'know, when all you have to mine with are CPUs, or maybe just one GPU, it really isn't in your interest to encourage large GPU farms to come drive up the difficulty.

Tenebrix and Fairbrix are the same position right now, except rather than being rumoured to be a joke they are rumoured to be dead.

The end result though, which is months and months and months of peace and quiet for CPU miners to hum away hi ho hi ho its off to hash I go, is the same.

Much fairer, I think, than the GPU miners' approach of "we raped all the coins, lets launch a new one to rape".

(The one GPU, of course, merged-mines all the merged-mine-able coins; as there is no point driving up the difficulty of the Scrypt coins Tenebrix and Fairbrix prematurely; putting a GPU on them would just force others to also put a GPU on them, everyone would spend more electricity for the same number of coins, it'd just be wasteful and impolite.)

CaptChadd, how did you came about BBQCoin? what did get your interest to restart it ?

The fact that it was labelled as a joke and most thought it was worthless.

Just a little bit of

And it's so good  Wink

Once the dumping is done in couple of days it will be interesting to see how the blockchain has changed. I guess it will be changed quite a bit.

Can I just say I'm really happy to see this on an exchange. I have and will continue to enjoy the community and channel banter and I think this coin has created a great sense of community and that it's core principles work very well (not talking about the coin between friends).

Yes, very nice ride down. It dropped from 0.00072 to 0.00027 on BTER   Sad

Honestly, I think a coin that sticks between 80% and 120% of the profitability of BTC is more stable.  Otherwise, you get a lot of pump and dumpers...

It had a nice ride today on profitability!

Or another way to look at it is it slightly overshot in pre-exchange pricing, reaching 28, but has settled slightly to 27 now that is is on an exchange.

Apparently with some kind of first moments on the exchange bubble of exuberance, it seems?

I like BBQcoin also. I just started mining it a week ago, but stopped due to all the connection issues at ub3rl33t.
And with the increasing difficulty it is no longer profitable to solo mine.

A few good mining pools next to ub3rl33t are really needed at this point. Preferably one with stratum support and with servers in EU en US.

Something I have wondered since the beginning:

Is BBQcoin tomato based or vinegar based?

It tastes like vinegar to its critics, so they throw tomatoes.

So maybe both? Maybe they feel the tomatoes improve the taste?

Captchadd maybe you can add the wiki to your post for easy access: http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=bbqcoin

Edit: I don't mean the link to the wiki but the important stuff from it like pools and info and whatnot Smiley
