KKR fan would now be demoralised as SRK has been hospitalized after heat stroke. KKR and Sheryas PR both promoting sentimental stories to do what? Is this a way to boost revenue of a franchise or there is something hidden behind all of these stories. I don't have any proof but Shreyas Iyer PR are now saying he is the best captain and batter in this IPL. Those who are following this season know how ineffective this guy was as a captain and as a batter.

KKR were able to win the game and at last thier big investment on Mitchell Starc paid off. He got the opening pair who were the reason why SRH was able to comfortably win matches.

Starc taking Head and Arora getting Abhishek assured KKR they weren't going to chase a big target but the run-out of Tripathi (ok, he got lucky when KKR didn't take DRS for his LBW but still) and dropped catches made things even more easier for KKR.

KKR is definitely deserving and passionate teams of this season, I'd love it if they win the trophy.

Historically Mumbai team was strong as hell, these guys won 40-ish Ranji so ofc they dominated the national team.
Although political anarchy was present on every state local board at one time, in Maharashtra, they were still able to get talents, which were mostly from affluent families who were either part of the political infrastructure or were supporting it.

Maharashtra was once and is considered the backbone of the Indian economy. That was the leverage, I guess, used by BCCI. wherein now it is far better, but players still feel that burden, and that is why you will see most of them buying a home in Mumbai. I don't take it wrong, and I would still say the Maharashtra Board holds a diamond in cricket and influence.

There is a limit to nepotism, yeah, he's occupying 1 spot in the MI's camp because of his last name but it's a privately owned franchise and it's up to the owner. Infact, if you noticed the auction then Ambanis were proud to get him and had a friendly banter with the Nehra ji when he deliberately inflated his price. Despite all that, they never compromise their team balance because of nepotism.

I am okay with this drama as long as it's not tricking down to playing XI or in domestic cricket.

I have nothing against nepo kids, whereas I fail to understand when their father's (talking about Gavaskar & Tendulkar) were good batters why did they choose to become all rounders especially bowlers. Their fathers could have guided them the best batting technique or were they as father responsible for the downfall of their kids.

Rohan Gavaskar did play for India when Maharastra was controlling BCCI. I still remember those were days when every player from Maharashtra used to get more preference than other states ofcourse there were state boards that were filled with corrupt politicians.
It's hard to fill the shoes of the likes of Gavaskar and Sachin) be it their kids or any batter. All they can provide is sources and facilities but talent should be there as well.

In domestic cricket, Rohan Gavaskar wasn't bad per se but wasn't extraordinary, one of the reasons he didn't make it into the test team. He did get some game time in ODI but that's about it, once he failed he was dropped for good.

I think that SRH has the upper edge to win today but KKR can be lethal if Salt and Sunil can bat agressively. Both team look good but bowling wise SRH is better than KKR.

Just fyi, Phil Salt has left for England to play their t20 series against Pakistan, IMO this alone gives significant advantage to SRH. Gurbaz better play aggresive without caring for wicket as did Salt and give good start to team.

Yeah I forgot that most English players have left for the preparation of World Cup. Still KKR were able to win the game and at last thier big investment on Mitchell Starc paid off. Why is none of us discussing about Mr. Tendulkar's son who recently bowled when MI management thought it is a good time to check the new comers.
Because he's not relevant as far as Indian cricket goes.

He looked quite good for his first 2 overs though but he's it's a fact that he can't even make it into any Ranji team (IPL is Pvt setup, hence he got the spot. Ambanis love him for dead rubber matches), one of the reasons he tried with Goa instead of Mumbai in the Ranji.

While the strugglers slog and couldn't make into the game of real money a nepo makes into a league where money churns. As of now the trolling has stopped but I remember him batting well in the last year IPL. The kid of the God doesn't have any potential and will die down as Sunil Gavaskar son went through while he was trying to get into the A league. This is why I love cricket and especially Indian cricket. They give you a chance but you can't rely on your daddy's influence to get more opportunities.

It wasn't decimation, match was in CSK's favour (play-offs scenario, that's what they were aiming for anyway) until last over, RCB had 0 chance to win until MSD was on crease — 11 of 5, easy.

As long as it's not confirmed by MSD himself that it's his last season, it's not last.

'dream of reaching finals' — c'mon it's not that bad, CSK is 5 times champion already.

In the end, team who plays better wins the match, RCB played better, and they won it.

CSK took the game not that serious and that is the reason they lost. They were decimated by RCB bowlers and that is true as their top batting order was gone so fast. CSK might have won 5 times but as the viral videos shows MSD left the stadium without shaking hands with RCB team gives a hint that this year was his last. He is not fit and is playing for the sake of his fans as for them he is their saviour.

Today we have the first playoffs game between SRH and KKR. Abhishek Sharma is in good form, he can be a pain for KKR bowlers. I think that SRH has the upper edge to win today but KKR can be lethal if Salt and Sunil can bat agressively. Both team look good but bowling wise SRH is better than KKR.

I saw CSK getting decimated by RCB which is a rare event in the history of IPL. The loss by CSK was so bad that MSD left the stadium without shaking hands with RCB player. If that kind of gesture would have been done by Virat Kohli then the media houses would have picked it up and made it a big issue. The reason being Kohli still rules cricket and every news about him get them a lot of views. This is a magical moment for every RCB fans as they would have never imagined them crushing the 5 times winning team of IPL. I felt that MSD might was playing his last IPL game yesterday and his dream of reaching the finals got shattered by a low life RCB.

RCB batsmen have perform well in the match and in this they scored good runs and gave a big target.  Which could not be complete by CSK batsmen and will lose the match. Their batsmen also perform well in the match.  But will lose the match by 27 runs.  If they kept up their pace they could have won the match.  But his bowling was very bad due to which he could not make the target and would lose the match.  Their batsmen batted hastily in the first 2 overs lose 2 wickets.  Virat Kohli has also not perform in the match yet.  He has scored only 45 runs off 29 balls.  CSK batsmen tried hard to win the match but their luck was to lose and they will lose.  Congratulations to RCB for the win.

This how nepo kids are treated in cricket: Arjun Tendulkar leaves the over midway after consecutive sixes from Nicholas Pooran. I mean there should be a limit to disgrace him because he is the son of God of cricket doesn't mean he should be subjugated to such hatred. I guess his actions against Stoinis might be the reason why GT paid this media house to write about his inability. I have nothing negative about him but I feel he is in the wrong profession as he could try others without his dad asking for a favour from MI.

Important game today for both RCB and CSK and rain is predicted. I am not expecting any miracles but if RCB win then it will be a biggest comeback this year. They were once in the bottom of the points table and no one expected them to play so well and win back to back games.

BTW,  BCCI has approached Gambhir for the chief coach position as per the sports media outlets. If he gets that job then many senior players will not be happy.

Today will be the most competitive match, the team who can win today's match will get the opportunity to play the semi-final match. Because Royal Challenger Bengalore team has positive points, and Chennai Super Kings team has positive points. In this match, Royal Challenger Bangalore team has the biggest chance to play the semi-final match if they win.

It will be the most competitive match for this season of IPL. Both team can qualify for the playoffs, if they are able to win today. As per the bookies RCB are the favourite to win today but they are not always correct as CSK are the defending champions they will not try to lose today. Some of the major players of CSK will not be playing due to injuries or have home commitment due to the upcoming T20 WC. Whereas RCB has found its winning batting line-up and they are bowling good. Overall we will see a good competetive and most likely a close game of cricket today.

When Gill was made captain, people already suspected that he might lose his form and this is what exactly happened. In IPL 2023, Gill was orange cap winner, and his tons played large part in GT's wins.

If Hardik was still the captain then I assume he would have still played good as he did last year, now that he's himself a captain he'll have to get accustomed to captainship so it may take a while to do both duties properly.

Shubman Gill was made the captain because they didn't had anyone else who is suitable for that job. Kane Williamson is there, but he was unavailable for most of the matches. Then there is Wriddhiman Saha who is close to retirement at 39 years. Another option is Rashid Khan, but he also doesn't have much experience in captaining IPL franchises. What happened to Gill in terms of his form was unfortunate. But I still believe that the GT management did the right thing here.

I'm not saying Gill is bad choice or anything, he's fine, it's just that it may take a while before he can manage both batting and captainship responsibilities.

I'm not sure if Williamson was unavailable, he was there but wasn't given chance in squad. On Saha, bit rude but Saha doesn't deserve to be in squad, rest alone captainship. I'd put Rashid as in same league as Gill but ofc domestic talent takes lead over overseas ones.
