^^ IMO It was actually a correct decision to bowl first because dew did come hard during 2nd inning.

Luckily for CSK, their bowlers, especially Jadeja manage to keep things tight with the wet ball. This is a tough thing to do and you need a ton of practice and there is no guarantee that it'll come off on any given day.

CSK disrupting RR qualification and RCB winning 5 games in a row. This year the competition at the later end is increasing the engagement. Another important match today between GT and KKR, as it is an important game for GT and they need to win by a big margin to improve thier run rate. If KKR lose today they still will sit at the top of the point table. The way RCB has been playing they can qualify for the playoffs it seems.

RR and KKR will easily qualify the win that CSK got yesterday will help them to qualify. The main competition is now between SRH, CSK and RCB. Back to back win by RCB in total of 5 wins has helped them land on 5th position. The match against CSK on the 18th is crucial for both the team. It will be an interesting game for sure as both teams need to win.

New match of Indian Premier League competition which is ongoing among Royal Rajasthan sqaud against Chennai Super Kings squad. After this match, Royal Rajasthan still has 2 opportunities to improve their stats if they lose with match today's or next one they might still easily reach for playoff matches. On against side, Chennai Super Kings squad have very fewer possibility to play in playoffs and have very tough competition among these sqauds Delhi Capitals, Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants because these sqaud have same points on table. Currently, CSK squad is present on 4th position after this match, they have only one more match to play and both these match have a crucial role for Chennai Super Kings squad.

RR messed it up and they were only able to get 141 runs on the scoreboard. That being said the target for CSK is only 142 runs which does not seem to be hard to get. Considering most of their senior bowlers are hurt these new age bowlers have done an excellent job for them. I do not think RR will be able to win today against CSK unless they come up with a bowling pair that can handle CSK batters. Gaikwad is still batting and Mitchell, they can easily get those runs if they bat sensibly.
This goal could have been good.  If only their bowler would support them.  Their bowler has work hard but could not do as well as he should have done.  They also knew that our target was low.  We must work hard and fight to stop the run and win the match.  But this fate also defeat them.  RR performance was poor today.  Neither their batsmen could make a good target nor their bowler would make any effort.  Their match was ready to be lost.  When the CSK batsmen score runs in 10 overs.  Their batsmen score 145 runs in 19 overs to win the match.  RR used to perform well in earlier matches.  I was hoping that RR would definitely win the match.

I was sure that the likes of Kohli and Rohit would retire after the 2022 T-20 WC (at least in the T-20 format) and focus mainly on the Test format but seriously I was dead wrong. After the last T-20 WC, all BCCI did was try new players but things changed for the WC. Rinku was the best performer in the middle order but he got sidelined because Rohit-Kohli had a fixed spot.

I don't think Kohli would retire at any time soon because he is performing consistently at 3 formats and we can say his t20 strike rate is not that high but someone should be trusted to hold one end with this destructive form of cricket.

Rinku got sidelined just because of err made by selection committee, there is no need for 4 spin attack and that's where Rinku is supposed to fit.

Moving on forward, the form of captain and VC of team India is horrible, not the sign that we wanted to see prior to WC T20.

Any chance do we see some changes in the announced squad before deadline?

When these senio members will decide to retire from white ball cricket is questionable. White ball cricket is one of the highly monetize and glamorous form of cricket in modern day cricket. I must say that it has not only affected Indian players but international players and they are participating in every franchise cricket they can for money.

The opening pair debate for IPL is inclusive to this year and I am sure next year we will see a few new names. When talking about new players I think they should get a chance to represent the country if experienced players still get to be part of the squad with fitness issue. I am talking about Rohit and his batting this year in IPL. He has fitness issue and still BCCI wants him to lead the team. Why?

IMO, win or lose they should be kicked out after this WC no ifs and buts. Fortunately/Unfortunately bilateral white ball cricket is losing relevance and it's treated as a testing ground for the ICC tournament. BIG-3 follows this regularly (Eng, Aus and Ind) There is a reason that senior players hardly play any bilateral white ball series unless they need some practice before the IPL or ICC Tourney.

BTW, which opening pair do you think is explosive Abishek/Travis or Gill/Sudarshan? I do not think the BCCI selection team can ignore a few incredible batting talents like Sudarshan and Gaikwad anymore they should add these guys in the squad.
In IPL, I believe in Abhishek-Travis and Salt-Narine supremacy, no other duo comes close.

There is a shit ton of competition for the opening slot. Gaikwad is on a waiting list atm Sudarshan is nowhere close. Also, senior members need to move on and give space to young ones. Unfortunately, it didn't happen in this cycle because Indian selectors were not bold enough to take calls on senior players.

^ what happens usually with the young talents is that they fail when playing at international level, and more importantly when playing in semis/finals, it's important for selectors to go for players who are mentally tough, who can perform under pressure situations. If you were to directly put IPL success guys into wc scenario, they are likely to fail.

I'm not fan of Gaikwad tbh, but I like Sudarshan, he's a good and he'll soon be permanent addition into international squad imo.

@elevates, what libert19 said is correct. The basic problem is new players are unable to handle pressure matches and that is the reason why they are first tested through bilateral or trilateral series. If they can handle pressure then they get a chance. The best example in this scenario will be Shubham Dubey. Rituraj Gaikwad did get a chance but he was not that good. Suddenly he has been batting well in the IPL and that to after the squad was announced.

Important match today for CSK if they want to get into the playoffs. The current situation looking good, but Sanju is still batting and he can wreak havoc with Parag for CSK. They will need to get rid of these two if they want a small target to chase.

LSG not retaining KL seems logical, 16 crore is big money and you've to justify your worth, in which he's consistently failing but I haven't seen any confirmed report yet though, it's only on a speculation level and we will only know when we see his name dropping in auction or some official announcement from the LSG management.

Surprisingly, no sports site picked up other stories of Vice captain Pooran replacing him in the remaining matches in this season.

A lot of speculation is happening and I also confirm that I have not read or heard that KL Rahul will be removed as a captain of LSG officially. I somehow feel pity for this guy as nothing has been going in his way since he got married. A lot of the issues that he faced were self-created as he was sky-high after marriage but now it has gotten worse for him.

For the right reasons, KL is getting a lot of sympathy because of Goenka's public outburst. Mr Goenka has a history of being loudmouth and arrogant as well.

Not sure if BCCI going to interfere at least not publicly. They might do some backchannel diplomacy but that's it. As of now, reports are coming in that LSG might drop KL soon.

It is now confirmed that he will be dropped as a captain and the vice-captain of LSG will become the captain for the rest of the games. He will be dropped from LSG and he will be going for auction for the next IPL. I am still clueless as to which franchise will be interested in buying KL Rahul, he has been already dropped from the Indian team, and the current situation might get him some sympathy but his future is looking bleak.

RCB played well yesterday and is again in contention for the playoffs. What do you think are the chances for RCB to be part of the playoffs? As per my understanding, they still need to win all their games and they will need LSG as well as DC to lose their upcoming games to make it into the top 4. It is tough for them whereas the way they are playing it would become easy if they continue their momentum of winning.

Kohli was the reason why RCB was a winner is what everyone has been saying. Whereas I felt sloppy fielding as PBKS dropped Kohli in the initial overs was the major reason why they lost. PBKS is out of the playoffs because of their bad performance as a team in bowling and fielding. They did bat well but only a few Indian batters till now have given the effort to make them win.

I was never a big fan of KL Rahul, but it is humiliating and disconcerting to see such a pathetic response from LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka in front of a live audience. For me, this kind of behavior is unprofessional and unacceptable. The question that comes to my mind is, will BCCI take action against the franchise owner? If it was a player then they would have taken strict action and would have fined the player the match fee.

Does everyone one here who is a T20! expert think that Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma are the greatest opening pair in IPL history? What these two did last night was not only incredible but was alo unbelievable. They both took the their team to victory without any hesitation that they will get out. I should say that Abhishek Sharma should get a berth in the T20 squad, if not he should be considered atleast.

I am still confused whether the owner is angry or is giving advice to KL Rahul. Do remember he is sone in law of a famous Bollywood celebrity who has a commendable PR team that made him a star. He might have used this opportunity to get him placed in the squad of an upcoming ICC event. As per my understanding this is another PR strategy to make KL Rahul look as he is on the recieving end as a captain who tried his level best.
