PM me for posting ANN.

Moreover, I’d like to announce about the new Poloniex Bounty. For the one who unblock BCN on the Poloniex exchange will be the special reward!

I have just tweeted Poloneix to re-enable BCN https://twitter.com/kamalds/status/883644890437087232

Thank you!!

I appreciate any support and help

I have also emailed their support explaining in detail why they need to re-enable them. Most of the issues have been ironed out. They need to enable it again as it is affecting value of BCN in negative way.

Supposedly! The guy from official dev team ignores all my questions about the problem with Poloniex.
I'm sure that they have access to the original code. But they do nothing or they can not do anything.

1. You can ask the devs if they are willing to resume some regular work on the bcn.

If they are not willing, then a. Are they willing to share their original code with some new group of devs. b. If yes, then what are their terms, namely, can they share it for free, or do they wish to have some renumeration of any kind for sharing the code/full access to the original protocol/copyright, etc.

2. There were some concerns that the bcns were largely pre-mined (by the devs?), so there have been some fears that the owners of great portions of bnc can easily manipulate the market. If it is not so, and if the current devs are not involved in this, or are not willing to manipulate the market, then perhaps they can publicly explain their attitude or share their views on those pre-mined bcns. Perhaps, some bcns can be burned, or donated or whatever.

3. Taking into account the lack of the devs' adequate public communication, it may even be pre-supposed that there is something shady or broken behind the scene. Surely, it is not necessarily so, but this is what pops up, when one meets with the attitude/behavior, which is apparently not quite reasonable under the circumstances.

I don't know if there are any manipulation thoughts inside of the BCN team but I'm totally agreed with you that they need to explain their behavior. But I don't think that the large amount of BCN at the devs hand.

Why do u think that there's a new group of devs?

since 2012 but no revolution. Monero started in 14 and is sitting at a way higher level. Care to explain?

It didn't actually start in 2012 - read this for the backstory - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/blowing-the-lid-off-the-cryptonotebytecoin-scam-with-the-exception-of-monero-740112
Wow one hell of a read thank you for pointing this out. Fish

I read that before I was just taking a dig at the title though  Wink

So i am having more and more problems syncing the wallet. I use Bytecoin Wallet 1.1.7.1
Everything works but it seems it is not connecting to the network. I'm stuck at block 1300038.   It says connected to 1 peer and then disconnects, unable to complete syncing. Is there some sort of file I can edit to add more nodes?

Hey,

Could you send me more information about this problem.

log, screenshot, os etc
I think I fixed it by renaming my appdata\roaming\bytecoin folder and let the software create a new one and completely sync it again from scratch.  I will import wallet later but it is now connected to 8 peers and steadily downloading.. Takes a while but it will get there

I am interested in operating a public node for Bytecoin so clients can connect to it without having to sync the entire blockchain every time they start up their wallet. Has there been a guide done on this? By the way, if you're reading this post, then please spend some more time at Bytecointalk.org because it's rather dead and that's where a lot of people go first for help.

Want to say thanks to everyone who helps me under the BFB project

Yesterday was sent reward in the amount of 16 000 BCN to the person who found temporary solution for wallet's problem

Guys, I’m waiting for new bugs!  I'm ready to reward you more than had been announced.
From you, just a quality reports about new bugs.

Moreover, I’d like to announce about the new Poloniex Bounty. For the one who unblock BCN on the Poloniex exchange will be the special reward!

Waiting for your feedback

Supposedly, a dev has to have an access to the original bcn code to fix the problem at the Poloniex, right?

Supposedly! The guy from official dev team ignores all my questions about the problem with Poloniex.
I'm sure that they have access to the original code. But they do nothing or they can not do anything.

Is there anyone here who has got any feedback from Polo support team about the problem with BCN?

To reduce time of sync, you can download part of blockchain here http://bytecoindb.blogspot.ru/

And you can have some problems with wallet, if on your disk c: is not enough free disk space. BCN blockchain is about 40Gbytes, for SSD drives it can be the problem.
Check you drive free space!!!!!

For all those who are having loading/synching issues, I hope that you have researched the forums and found a solution.  If you have tried the following solution and are still having problems, then not sure what else can be done until the application code is fixed.

I am running Bytecoin Wallet 1.1.4 on a Windows 8.1 Pro box, Intel i7 3820 3.60/3.8, 16 gb ram, and 64 bit.  It took 3 times to go through the following steps until the wallet fully loaded, and since then I have had no problems.  I had not opened the wallet for a few days until this evening.  It went from 1300185 to 1303659 in about 11 minutes.  The original load of the blockchain took about 10 hours.  Yes, 10 hours.  But it's not like you can't do anything else while it's downloading.  Be patient.  The "DB" folder is approx 26.5 gb, so it will take some time.

These are the steps:
1) First close the wallet application if it is open.

2) Find the bytecoin folder on your box.  It should be located on your primary drive such as:
C:\Users\Jason\AppData\Roaming\bytecoin\.
AppData is a hidden folder, so you will have to view hidden items.

3) Go into the bytecoin folder and either delete or move the following out of the folder:
DB (folder)
blockindexes (file)
blocks (file)

Warning: Do not delete or move any other files.

4) Restart the bytecoin wallet.  The application will recreate the folder and 2 files.

5) The wallet will start loading the blockchain.  Give it enough time.  If it gets stuck and fails to complete, redo the above steps.  Remember it took me 3 times.

Good Luck!

how many days/hrs did it take to sync?
