Supposedly! The guy from official dev team ignores all my questions about the problem with Poloniex.
I'm sure that they have access to the original code. But they do nothing or they can not do anything.
1. You can ask the devs if they are willing to resume some regular work on the bcn.
If they are not willing, then a. Are they willing to share their original code with some new group of devs. b. If yes, then what are their terms, namely, can they share it for free, or do they wish to have some renumeration of any kind for sharing the code/full access to the original protocol/copyright, etc.
2. There were some concerns that the bcns were largely pre-mined (by the devs?), so there have been some fears that the owners of great portions of bnc can easily manipulate the market. If it is not so, and if the current devs are not involved in this, or are not willing to manipulate the market, then perhaps they can publicly explain their attitude or share their views on those pre-mined bcns. Perhaps, some bcns can be burned, or donated or whatever.
3. Taking into account the lack of the devs' adequate public communication, it may even be pre-supposed that there is something shady or broken behind the scene. Surely, it is not necessarily so, but this is what pops up, when one meets with the attitude/behavior, which is apparently not quite reasonable under the circumstances.
I don't know if there are any manipulation thoughts inside of the BCN team but I'm totally agreed with you that they need to explain their behavior. But I don't think that the large amount of BCN at the devs hand.
Why do u think that there's a new group of devs?
