there was a break, due to League of Nations competition, where Belgium made great impress with two wins 0:2 in Denmark and 5:1 at home with Iceland, congrats to them

round 5 of Belgian Jupiler league:
11.09. 20:45 Eupen - Gent 2 (10)
12.09. 16:15 KV Mechelen - Oostende X (2)
12.09. 18:30 Leuven - St. Liege 2 (7)
12.09. 20:45 Club Brugge KV - Waasland-Beveren 1 (7)
13.09. 13:30 Anderlecht - Cercle Brugge KSV X (4)
13.09. 16:00 St. Truiden - Antwerp X (2)
13.09. 18:15 Waregem - Charleroi X (4)
13.09. 20:45 Kortrijk - Mouscron 2 (4)
14.09. 20:45 Beerschot VA - Genk X (6)

i have added number from 1-10 to matches, as an orientation for the stake that i am ready to put on the match (below 3 usually skip on the tickets)

nevertheless, Gent should win today, quote is good ˇ@2 and this will be one of mayors on my today bets, they had three lost matches in a row, but win over Mechelen brought them back and i think that Eupen will have to go down, although they are good defensive team with great goalkeeper
for others, expect that table will start to get usual shape, so Club Brugge should also won this weekend, Liege as well
Anderlecht did not prove their form at the start of the season, and will skip them probably, expect draw with Cercle Brugge, Beerschot will leave alone until Monday
regarding unexpected, Mouscron could set them of the bottom in Kortrijk, home team has a lot of questionable and injured players and i do not recommend playing on them, with possible surprise there

I just check some stats about today game and I don’t really get why your stake is 10 for Gent tonight. Both teams after 4 games are at the end of the standings and their number of goals scored is not impressive at all.If you have made this decision based only on how big a team is by their name I can understand this but giving a 10 stake is a bit risky.I am going for double chance and checking what happens, although I will play a parlay because as a single dc is not a good odd.

round 4 of Belgian Jupiler league - results:
28.08. 20:45  Oostende - Anderlecht 2 - 2:2 (lost)
29.08. 16:15  Eupen - St. Truiden X - 1:1 (won)
29.08. 18:30  Cercle Brugge KSV - Kortrijk X - 0:1 (lost)
29.08. 18:30  Waasland-Beveren - Leuven 1 - 1:3 (lost)
29.08. 20:45  Mouscron - Waregem 1 - 0:1 (lost)
30.08. 13:30  Genk - Club Brugge KV 2 - 1:2 (won)
30.08. 16:00  Beerschot VA - St. Liege X - 0:3 (lost)
30.08. 18:15  Charleroi - Antwerp X - 2:0 (lost)
30.08. 20:45  Gent - KV Mechelen 1 - 1:0 (won)

early goal by Oostender brought them better position in a match and draw with Anderlecht, Brugge and Gent won their matches, that was highly expected from both teams after lousy start of the season, Charleroi continued their strike with fourth win over Antwerp, i did not expect that, and Beerschot proved that they cannot attack good team, finished with three goals in their net against Liege, at the end three win matches for me, but two from them i had a good bet, so happy with this round

Do you think you might share like the totals of betting amount as well with your predictions? I always find that win/lose predictions only make sense with bet amounts too:)

will do from the next round, i planned to provide prediction for all matches, but for some i use small amounts, beer ticket value

Nice thread, and I have to be honest here I don't know much about the league in Belgium but I think any of us here know that you guys produce some fantastic players on the international scene.

round 4 of Belgian Jupiler league:
28.08. 20:45  Oostende - Anderlecht 2
29.08. 16:15  Eupen - St. Truiden X
29.08. 18:30  Cercle Brugge KSV - Kortrijk X
29.08. 18:30  Waasland-Beveren - Leuven 1
29.08. 20:45  Mouscron - Waregem 1
30.08. 13:30  Genk - Club Brugge KV 2
30.08. 16:00  Beerschot VA - St. Liege X
30.08. 18:15  Charleroi - Antwerp X
30.08. 20:45  Gent - KV Mechelen 1

interesting round, with two top teams having good tests of their quality in home matches, Beerschot VA is playing Liege, and Charleroi is facing Antwerp, i expect draw at both matches, since Beerschot VA made a good start, with win over Brugge, but Liege also started well, and would not be offensive in Antwerpen, so counter-attack strategy that brought them three points in Brugge last week will not be feasible at home match, Charleroi also wrote win over Brugge for themselves, so their top place is well deserved, but Antwerp is a good team, that will be satisfied with draw on Sunday

from other matches, after poor start, i expect from Brugge to get started in Genk this weekend and Gent should be secure to win over Mechelen on Sunday evening
one good pick is to have Beveren at home against Leuven, that have many problems with a lot of injured players, and Beveren will use this game to collect important points in relegation fight that is already an open option for both teams

and the last match was finished with a goalless draw between St. Truiden and Oostende, which could be that was expected, although it was not boring at all with two red cards and missed penalty for Oostende

in the end, six good predictions and three lost this round, which makes it 8/18 in these two rounds, i will put that in the thread subject

remark: "i saw that there was one topic for Jupiler league, but it is more than two years without posts, so decided to make another one for this season"
No problem, if the OP updates every week, so anyone who bets and places bets in the Belgian Jupiler league, especially the Bitcointalk community can have a live look at the OP topic.

Oh yes I added a little to their fixtures live.
Can be seen here:

And the fixtures for this week.

I hope the Jupiler Belgian league match, in 2020, can go smoothly and be successful.

round 3 results:
21.08. 19:00 Kortrijk - Eupen X - 0:0 (won)
22.08. 16:15 Waregem - Waasland-Beveren 1 - 4:1 (won)
22.08. 18:30 KV Mechelen - Cercle Brugge KSV 1 - 2:3 (lost)
22.08. 18:30 Leuven - Charleroi 2 - 1:3 (won)
22.08. 20:45 Antwerp - Gent X - 1:0 (lost)
23.08. 13:30 St. Liege - Genk X - 0:0 (won)
23.08. 16:00 Club Brugge KV - Beerschot VA x2 - 0:1 (won)
23.08. 18:15 Anderlecht - Mouscron 1 - 1:1 (lost)
24.08. 20:45 St. Truiden - Oostende X

so, with one match on Monday, have predicted good five results, including surprise Beerschot victory in Brugge, and two draws, what was not expected is that Gent will be on the bottom, after three rounds, with zero points, and that Anderlecht will take just a draw with Mouscron, but extra-time goal by Gnohere was enough for Mouscron to take a point, while playing more than one-half with 10 players

Beerschot and Charleroi are at the top after three rounds, which is far from expected, and probably would not stay for a long time

Club Brugge is big favorite against Beerschot but odd for Club to win is only around 1.3. So there is value in double chance for Beerschot.
Beerschot started the competition in a good way and will be highly motivated against a top team

round 3 of Belgian Jupiler league:
21.08. 19:00 Kortrijk - Eupen X
22.08. 16:15 Waregem - Waasland-Beveren 1
22.08. 18:30 KV Mechelen - Cercle Brugge KSV 1
22.08. 18:30 Leuven - Charleroi 2
22.08. 20:45 Antwerp - Gent X
23.08. 13:30 St. Liege - Genk X
23.08. 16:00 Club Brugge KV - Beerschot VA x2
23.08. 18:15 Anderlecht - Mouscron 1
24.08. 20:45 St. Truiden - Oostende X

Kortrijk plays Eupen tonight and i expect a draw, with same expectation in Antwerp and Liege matches, Charleroi should do good with Leuven, since Leuven has a lot of injured players, will be interesting to see how Beerschot will do in Brugge, and IMO Mechelen and Anderlecht should solve their home matches easily

I think quite a lot of results are considered unexpected and the main one that caught my eye is Club Brugge as if I understood correctly you are betting against them and the team that plays against is a weak team I believe.I think although that Club Brugge have started the Championship not really well and although that other team is momentarily at the top of the standings I still think Club Brugge is going to win.If the odd is good enough and if I had any money left I would bet on Club Brugge to win the game.

I see that player that I follow - Terem Moffi scored his 1st goal this season for Kortrijk. Mark my words - soon we will see this guy in much better team. There was rumours some tume ago that Rangers are interested in him.
But I really hope I am wrong. Personally out of all the teams in this division, I have only heard about Beerschot in the past. I think that is a big reason why this league is not followed widely because it has no star clubs like ManU or ManC.

Well, Beerschot isn't most famous club from Belgium. It's strange that you didn't hear clubs like Brugge, Genk or Anderlecht, they always play in Champion and Europa league.
Offcourse, it's not EPL or La Liga, but it's decent league, 8th in UEFA ranking, above Eredivisie or Turkish league Smiley Smiley

Indeed, another surprising loss for AA Gent. This will most probably be the end for their coach Jesse Thorup...
Good to see the big win of Club Brugge, seems to be they are finally finding their rhythm.

2nd round results:
Anderlecht 3 - 1 St. Truiden (won)
Beerschot VA 3 - 1 Waregem (won)
Eupen 0 - 4 Club Brugge KV (lost - X foreseen)
Cercle Brugge KSV 2 - 1 Antwerp (lost - X foreseen)
Charleroi 1 - 0 Oostende (lost - x2 foreseen)
Gent 1 - 2 Kortrijk (lost - 1 foreseen)
Genk 1 - 1 Leuven (lost - 1 foreseen)
Mouscron 0 - 1 KV Mechelen (lost - X foreseen)

could not say that it was a good weekend for my prognosis, and most surprising for me was Gent and Genk results on Saturday, Gent without David will need time to put it all together obviously, Brugge scored early and then destroyed Eupen, and Beerschot proved that they are not going to be one season wonder in Jupiler

there is one more match today, between Beveren and Standard

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but if a previous thread of this sports league had no discussion or activity for over two years, then it is unlikely that your thread would continue to remain active.

But I really hope I am wrong. Personally out of all the teams in this division, I have only heard about Beerschot in the past. I think that is a big reason why this league is not followed widely because it has no star clubs like ManU or ManC.

Let's see how they do against Waregem 1 on Sat.

@casperBGD, thanks for sharing analysis. I will make some bets based on it. But I'm not sure that I'm going to watch games this weekend, none of these doesn't loojs very attractive. Though, there is not so many options when biggest leagues haven't started their season yet.
About fantasy, well, usually I don't play such kind of games because it requires too much time if I want to play seriously, but I will look into it.

round 2 of Belgian Jupiler league, and my predictions for the round:
14.08.19:00  Mouscron - KV Mechelen X
this is a typical draw match, with a slightly better team as away team, but do not think that they will be able to pull through a win
15.08.16:30  Genk - Leuven 1
Genk has corona issues, with Bongonda in quarantine, but they are much stronger side than Leuven, so their win should not be questioned
15.08.19:00  Charleroi - Oostende x2
Charleroi could be a trap this weekend, they won last weekend in Brugge, but that was on one successful counter-attack note, and quote is low, so should be skipped
15.08. 19:00 Gent - Kortrijk 1
Gent sold David, but nevertheless has better squad than Kortrijk, so this should happen as home win
16.08. 13:30 Cercle Brugge KSV - Antwerp X
this is also a typical draw, Antwerp won a cup, but they did not managed to win first match in the league, and this does not seem as a win either
16.08. 16:00 Beerschot VA - Waregem 1
this is a good value quote for a home win, @2.35 it is a good pick, and Beerschot made a good start last week, they are in good form and believe that they will win first match at home, even without audience
16.08. 16:00 Eupen - Club Brugge KV X
this should come, but Eupen has a good goalkeeper, and i would skip betting on Brugge
16.08. 18:15 Anderlecht - St. Truiden 1
St. Truiden won first match at home, but this is to big for them, and i believe that Anderlecht will be back this season, after miserable last season, so this should be home win
17.08. 19:00 Waasland-Beveren - St. Liege 1x
Beveren stayed in the league after appeal and league increased number to 18, which is decreasing TV rights money for all other teams, but they had a good start in Kortrijk, and believe that they will not lost this one

I agree with most of your predictions but I do think that Standard and Antwerp will win their matches. Waasland Beveren and Cercle Brugge are the teams that will end in the lower regions and both Standard and Antwerp have much more quality in their teams, so should easily win.
I am also avoiding betting on Club Brugge, they are too unpredictable at this moment.

I don't follow Belgian league much, but I watch some games. It's quite interesting and unpredictable league because they don't have 1-2 teams which dominate all time. And it reminds me Eredivisie a bit, because there is lot of young talents playing there.
First round started with quite many surprising results. But in second round I don't see something interesting because mainly obvious favorites will play against underdogs.
By the way, I'm the only one who always confuse Genk and Gent Cheesy?
P.S. @casperBGD, can you give more details about Sorare.com? As I understand, this is fantasy where you pick players from multiple leagues? Sounds interesting, but a bit complicated.

yeah, it is confusing to have Genk and Gent in the same league

regarding sorare.com, it is a bit of off-topic, but do not know where to put it elsewhere, this is an interesting article reviewing the game
https://medium.com/@blockchainYNWA/sorare-beta-review-part-3-gameplay-5276a379c113

basically, when you sign-in for the game, you will get ten common players, that have no value, expect to play the game, and you can form teams in rookie competitions with them
next step is to buy player cards, that have three different levels:
- rare (100 cards of each player)
- super rare (10 cards of each player)
- unique - each player has one card

there are different competitions, where you assign your team of five players (goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, forward, and extra player that could be either defender, midfielder or forward) and those players receiving points based on their performance in real world matches

up to now, there is all Jupiler league, but also football giants Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Napoli, Lazio, Betis, Valencia, Lyon in the game, and they are adding new leagues (up to now Jupiler, MLS, K1 korea) and teams every now and then
