I don't follow Belgian league much, but I watch some games. It's quite interesting and unpredictable league because they don't have 1-2 teams which dominate all time. And it reminds me Eredivisie a bit, because there is lot of young talents playing there.
First round started with quite many surprising results. But in second round I don't see something interesting because mainly obvious favorites will play against underdogs.
By the way, I'm the only one who always confuse Genk and Gent Cheesy?
P.S. @casperBGD, can you give more details about Sorare.com? As I understand, this is fantasy where you pick players from multiple leagues? Sounds interesting, but a bit complicated.

two matches played yesterday, with future relegation contenders, but Beerschot already proved that they will probably have easier task than other three

Leuven - Eupen 1:1
Oostende - Beerschot 1:2

it was a bit of a new season start for Oostende new goalkeeper Guillaume Hubert, with goal conceived in first minute

Nice to see a new topic about the Jupiler pro league  Smiley.
Indeed a surprising first round with AA Gent and Club Brugge loosing their matches. For Club, it was already the second setback as they lost the cup final against Antwerp.
But Club Brugge still has the best papers to win the competition as they didn't loose any good players. They could however use another striker.

I think that this is not the first time in such league and other leagues alike like Switzerland Superleague that surprises happen in the first week.It just shows that the biggest teams of the league like Club Brugge do not take it that seriously the first round.I think they will recover as they have the best players in the league.

remark: "i saw that there was one topic for Jupiler league, but it is more than two years without posts, so decided to make another one for this season"

it is not one of the top European leagues, but i started to follow it better, since all teams from Jupiler league are in sorare.com global fantasy soccer

last season title ended up in Brugge, with Club Brugge announced as champion due to 15 points difference when corona outbreak happened, and league did not resumed

season started during weekend, and seven matches are played, with two more to play today
league now has 18 clubs for next two seasons, due to Beveren complaint because the league was finished with 29 rounds, and then league accepted that Beveren should not be relegated, and beside Germinal Beerschot, Leuven is also promoted to Jupiler league, these two played play-off match for one spot, and Germinal took advantage, but in the end both teams are now part of Jupiler league, to have even number of teams

first round gave us a few surprises, biggest in Brugge, where Charleroi took all three points, but also in Kortrijk where Beveren won the match, and Antwerp, where Antwerp did not managed to win over Muscron, to confirm their good form after taking cup title last weekend over Brugge and fourth surprising result happened in St.Truiden, where Gent lost 2:1

on the other hand, Genk won in Waregem, with Dessers, maybe a biggest signing this year in Jupiler scored from penalty spot in a calm transfer season, where only Jonathan David from Gent, that will probably end up in Lille was a biggest news

first round results:
Club Brugge - Charleroi 0:1
Antwerp - Royal Mouscron 1:1
Standard Liege - Cercle Brugge 1:0
Sint Truiden - Gent 2:1
Zulte Waregem - Genk 1:2
Mechelen - Anderlecht 2:2
Kortrijk - Beveren 1:3

two more to play today:
Leuven - Eupen
Oostende - Beerschot

both matches between relegation candidates at the moment, and will skip them for betting at the moment
