its not exactly true
ethereum and ripple werent the best in 2017.. there were like 30 altcoins which were a great investment in 2017
and the whole market is in bearish 2018/2019
i believe that in 2020 there are many good projects to invest in including ethereum and ripple
ADA ETC ZEC QTUM are good choices too

No doubt Binance coin BNB is going to be super successful next year. BNB is one of the most profitable altcoins this year 2019 also and I think it has a huge chance of growing bigger in the year 2020 because it is backed by the Binance.com, the world's biggest cryptocurrency exchange and all it assets.

I would recommend you look at Tomochain. Their CEO if a former founder of NEM and this is interesting coin with a lot of usefull options. May be this will be new Ethereum. Tomo coin is listed on Binance.

I'd say that despite the fact that I don't believe in XRP in the long run, it's going to be a good bet for 2020.

The fact that institutional investors are likely going to be the driving fundamentals that supports the bull run upcoming is a signal that tokens that involve themselves with financial intermediaries are likely going to prosper. And that includes XRP. Even though they are centralised, there will be still significant demand.

Also, I'm long on IOTA. I believe that they've done a lot in terms of evolving their product and partnerships, and time will show.

Ethereum again for me. I don't have anything to say about the other altcoins but it's what I think to be the most preferred altcoin for this year. BCH and Ripple is a no for me and for obvious reasons, I think everyone is very aware of that.

There are so many altcoins competing to each other my opinion is that, the top 100 altcoins will be good and they will give you an opportunity to earn money either small or big profit. ETH and BNB has a better chance to be on top again and this time i will stick with my ETH because of the future update, it will become big again.

If next year or 2020 is true there will be bullish until it reaches the next ATH then the best altcoins are still for ethereum and a few coins below that are indeed very promising a higher increase. I personally see from the side where ethereum is able to stagnate even though it is worrying about a deeper decline, but what we get is that prices can be maintained and then survive in the same range as before. So it seems very likely that ethereum will be able to surge further next year.

I don't know if there would be the best altcoins again in 2020 since all I've read almost a year is the beating of altcoins. People keep trying to invest in some altcoins but at the end none of them are seems so happy. This is maybe the result of too much bearish of the market that most investors are losing patience to hodl and eventually end up selling them.

of course all will think the best coin is a coin that has a large volume in each exchange Coin it is a coin that is ranked one to five CMC as the best coin and my investment now until in year 2020, I choose bitcoin and ethereum although both coins require large capital for investment at least the coin is guaranteed in all respects

As of now, altcoins was unpredictable because of bearish market that kept making it harder to recover. Bloodbath is fearing to happen at any moment, so every situation was crucial to see particular on a specific altcoins. In 2020 I can't finally give my full analysis on which of those promising coins, could really be the best if any of them will have the fame. First and foremost BNB has been showing more consistent market ever since were at falling moments of crypto. However, I am always looking forward for ethereum to have the best potential followed by BNB and XRP.

all top 10 coinmarketcap would be bright IMO, i have no doubt with them if altseason already happened

even shitcoin would be pump if altseason begins, altseason may start from 2020. i prepare myself so i dont lag behind

for this time i prefer to bitcoin only, it shows me good movement (more than 40%)

what is to look up for XRP, they've been there for too long but the value isn't really making a big jump. i'm not investing more of the ETH but i do have which i think this is really going to be worth investing when they finally release the eth2.0. staking will be a fun thing to do with eth. there at lots of altcoins to watch out, there is Chainlink and EOS, not very cheap but worth investing.

I'm not shilling any of the coins I own, but I'll agree with you on Eth. I'm pretty excited about it becoming proof of stake, even tho I don't *yet* own the 32 Eth required in order to stake it. Gives me something to shoot for, and its cheaper than a dash masternode at least. I do also think Eth is undervalued at the moment especially considering where it used to be (tho that's true of most coins now).

Seeing as how most coins can be gotten relatively cheaply, you probably can't go wrong if you just pick a few from the top 50 on coinmarketcap. I'm not sure about ripple but no doubt you could at least make a short term profit if you bought it now.

I still hold that ethereum still has a chance to shine, especially if their 2.0 upgrade is successful, for the real ripple it can but because ripple doesn't have a big break in 2020 I think he will still survive, oh yes for bnb itself seems to also shine first At the end of the 2019 quarter, BNB has experienced a pretty decent decline here. CZ might have a good idea for BNB.

XRP is still profitable, BNB has appeal because of its exchanger platform. BCH has a good potential to be invested, then there is USDT with the concept of stable coin which is a conversation about the right alternative payment. Actually when talking about the popularity of many altcoins, especially BNB, while for the best altcoins I think XRP.

In my opinion, you are asking for too much. There were enough threads at the beginning of 2018 predicting that ETH will overcome BTC. We all know what happened next, but to be fair, I hope that 2020 will be the year of all altcoins in general.

Keep an eye to ETH and XRP. Those both coins are the highest altcoin capitalization. Those coin will probably go rampage in next year. I'm sure we will see a momentum play in both coins.
