Here in forum there is no accurate information specially when based on personal experiences and opinions. If you want reliable sources of information, try to seek from the internet but always look for the certificates, licenses and most specially the credibility of the author. I recommend the google scholar as it has trusted authors and great articles about almost on everything.

Yes, I agree that social media could be one of the fastest way to share info. But sometimes there are informations that goes out differently as a fake news. Even google had its share of spreading erroneous information due to posting wrong idea. I think for me combining both sources could be a better idea.

There are a ton of ways to keep up with latest crypto news, trends, or information in general. Forums like this one or Reddit can be really useful, as well as bigger sites like Coindesk or Bitcoin.org. Also, feel free to check out some of our blog posts like this one: http://bit.ly/BTCvsBCH

Amalgamation of different sources including BCT, Youtube, Medium, and Discord. The best out of those is BCT but that is because every coin is discussed here whereas those other mediums you are generally looking into specific coins.

What kind of information are you telling? Information about crypto currency? ICOs or airdrops? Because, all of this, you can found it in social media. Crypto currency advertisements entered even the social media because they are many users of it and many people will know. Or you can google every updated news about crypto currency.

I check out coinmarketcap every day to get the coin prices. Then I look at various YouTube videos to get current news on cryptocurrencies. There are a few really good youtubers that do videos on a relatively consistent basis that kind of helps keep me up to date on news relative to cryptocurrencies. or you can go to some websites like coindesk, cointelegraph, bitcoin magazine to get some news.

Glad people are interested in finding informations.
Depensa on what type of information you are looking for, for example about some news/reviews like blockchain news, opinions of famous people about bitcoin/crypto and etc, mostly interesting and a little bit entertaining, you can find on coindesk.
But informations from exchangers, about wallets, updates, forks and etc, you can find here.

You may use social media to get some information, youtube and twitter but make sure that all the information you've get was legit and true, because sometime some people post false news or negative news regarding bitcoin and other altcoin, If good source of information pertaining to bitcoin and other altcoin, ill suggest that you spend time to read here in bitcointalk, because i think all you need to know was already here in bitcointalk org.

If you want detailed information new features related to bitcoins or any other alt coin, Reddit and this forum is good source of information. For latest news related to bitcoins, you can use Twitter. however, I advise you to stay away from spammers who keep spreading false news and information so as to manipulate the prices. Only follow accounts with good number of real and engaging followers. You can check the genuine followers of a Twitter account by using online audit websites.
