I can't help but feel horrible taking Gabriel out for Robertson, he's got a goal, most likely a cleansheet and extra 3 points too would be on the horizon for him, the numbers would have been enough to make up for whatever he does in the next 2-3 game weeks that I was afraid of initially.
Gabriel was the MOTM, well deserved; he did not just help us get the goal he was very good defensively and did not get booked.

Our midfield was not as it used to be; we really missed the presence of especially Odegaard. His absence totally made Saka not very functional, and Martinelli on the other side was again wasteful.

Proud of Arsenal, we found a way to win even from our disadvantaged position, and that is how big teams do. Next game against Manchester City, not sure we will be very lucky.
Gabriel coming in clutch for me to negate that 15 points icopress got from Sanches. Could have been catastrophic week for me but in the end it was ok. Even small green arrow to brag about Smiley

This GW winner should be icopress with 68 points. Results will be official tomorrow when official page calculates everything but I think 3rd party sites have caught up with BPS changes and should be accurate once again.

I get your point but don't really agree with it. I am missing proper strikers in modern football. Coaches make them play everything and in the process they loose on finishing in general and on concentration when that big chance happens. In the end it all about scoring goals and if you have as much creativity as you have in the City, you just need the guy to put all those chances away.

I always hated them Grin
I agree about the City comment, said it here myself:

Don't get me wrong BTW, I think Haaland is perfect for City. I just don't feel that his numbers are *that* great.

He regularly outscores his xG though, meaning that he's elite in what he does best - although it doesn't always look like that.

From a guy who supports Liverpool; it was supposed to be a Haaland vs Nunez debate, both players came in right about the same window If I recall correctly and it was as though Nunez is going to be the real deal from watch the Liverpool vs Man City community shield match that season, all that is history now. After 4 games there is no premier league team with more goals than Haaland  Cheesy

In such situations, you'd argue whether 27 in 29 is actually that great. A 20-goal striker that gets you 7-10 assists, leads the press and helps in creative part of the game would maybe be a better choice.

It is super interesting when people say Haaland under performed last season. He scored 27 goals in 31 matches he played. Keep in mind also that 2 of those matches were just cameo subs after getting back from injury so 27 goals from 29 matches. I think there is a lot of top players that would kill to under perform in that fashion. Problem is people expect him to score hat-trick at least twice per month  Grin

The 'problem' is that he only scores goals. He doesn't get assists, he doesn't contribute to build-up play, he doesn't track back..
He plays in a team that has the best creators in the world and doesn't really tire himself with defensive effort. He is fresh all game, waiting for that one chance to score.

In such situations, you'd argue whether 27 in 29 is actually that great. A 20-goal striker that gets you 7-10 assists, leads the press and helps in creative part of the game would maybe be a better choice.

The EPL is a league that humbles strikers, one of the most if not the most difficult league out there and Haaland coming down here to do what his doing, he deserves all the credits he gets. There isn’t much need to give us one od Zlatan’s line on this, come on.

Man is a beast in his own world, and Man City are the one playing to his strength not the other way round, in a world where the likes of Nunez and Nicolas Jackson's numbers are what to expect of your centre strikers, I think Haaland in his own right should be worshipped.
We’ve got yo acknowledge Manchester City too for their style of play in this and the tactics of Pep.

Where Haaland is, Jackson and Nunez don’t count as strikers, let’s not bring them in here. It’s just Haaland through his seasons.

The most annoying part for me is that people undermine his work and prowess simply by saying he's lucky to playing for Man City and that's why he's scoring tons of goal, taking away his killer instinct and making every touch count simply because he doesn't keep possession and play one-two buildup short passes as they'd have wanted.

Last season was Haaland and he seems fired up as it is this season.

Eventually, it’s the bar we’ve unconsciously risen for him. For a player of his quality and the team he plays in, I mean, what his been about doing in the few games his played this season is exactly the expectation on him. 27 goals is a lot but, didn’t measure up to the season before last. Maybe I just expect him to better his previous season. It’s an equating him to himself.

Watkins did help to reduce the deficit for not captaining the guy the whole world captained today.
My point exactly: If you did not have Watkins, you would have been thinking of vacating the 9th position already.

@Icopress, Sanchez in goal with that penalty save was the hit for you. Big points for him and Onana.
Onana saving penalty mid game and keeping a clean sheet, that was something. Sanchez did it for Icopress, that’s one way to claim the top this GW.

I agree with you; I think he would have been the one to score or maybe make a run that leads to a goal, Brighton coach made a bad decision not including him in the team if the only reason was that he returned late from international duties. If he had played just 20 minutes, it would have meant something.

This round was a total bust for many teams. Killing my squad to get Salah in really paid off  Grin Also FPL has super stupid rules about changes. Today Jota, Dias and McAlister went out at the same time. Jota was the first off the pitch and that resulted in 1 pointer for him while other two guys got 3 points.

Most likely a result of him returning late from the international break.
Saw that on the news field but, didn’t want to believe that’s all to it given how fantastic his been for the team since the start of the season and can see how this might be an easy decision with IPS on the side but, not the best time to share points and J. Pedro could have made a difference.

Cryptofrka is lucky to have Watkins; big consolation for missing out on captaining Haaland.

Not really lucky, I planned to take him for this patch of games. He was a top pick last season and his slow start means nothing - he'll be one of my key players this season again.
That’s some strong belief in Watkins, I’m not so much in on him this season. It’s not uncommon for players to underperform after an interesting season and this looks like it for Watkins. Last season was Haaland and he seems fired up as it is this season.

What’s the news on J. Pedro, not finding nothing on the thread.

Most likely a result of him returning late from the international break.

Brighton were forced to make a significant change for their Premier League game against Ipswich with Joao Pedro unavailable.

The 22-year-old has made an excellent start to the new season, scoring two goals in three games, and had been rewarded with a call-up to the Brazil squad.

Pedro played the second half of Brazil’s midweek defeat against Paraguay and Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler had been optimistic that his No.9 would be able to feature against the Tractor Boys having arrived back late from international duty.

————————

I didn’t watch Brighton vs Ipswich match if my source is correct, Brighton did had 21 goal attempts and 6+ shots on target, If those numbers are correct then It’s surprising that they couldn’t get all 3 points from the match as they’ve done about enough to have secured the W.

I'm really furious because I had 3 captain doubts - Trofo can confirm. I told him Haaland was the obvious choice but that I liked Watkins too, and ended up captaining Salah who's the only one with no contributions.

Shame but it is what it is - you win some, you lose some. Watkins did help to reduce the deficit for not captaining the guy the whole world captained today.

Watkins scores again for Aston Villa, and there is still enough time for him to get a hattrick on his return to scoring. Everton is about to lose two consecutive games after leading by two goals.

Cryptofrka is lucky to have Watkins; big consolation for missing out on captaining Haaland.
I couldn’t believe the brace he got but, he got it anyways and such a come back they archived after letting Everton lead them by 2 goals to nothing early in the first half. That first goal by a combination of Digne and Watkins in the first half did set the pace for a recovery in the second half. Watkins did me dirty though and had to send him right back to the market.
A huge faith by Cryptofrka on Watkins, it did pay off.

Well guys close this game, or change the name to Fantasy Haaland, is imposible to battle for anything without him.

And for worst City dominance in the league seems like is gonna still again in this season, Liverpool? What are you doing? Im starting to doubt about Arne, is like a diet Liverpool compared with the Kloop one.

About Joao Pedro WHY he isnt in the bench at least? He play only 30 minutes the other day with Brazil so.....

I dont know what happen.

I need Salah to get more than 4 points than Saka and Isak combined in second half just to break even.
Salah was completed disconnected today, Moreno made sure that Salah did not have the chance and space. Really poor and unexpected performance from Liverpool, who have not conceded any goal this season and then lost and conceded a goal in the same day, a home game. Good, I kept my captaincy option with Haaland, who I knew would channel his grief to get a good performance in his friend's honor.
I did my utmost in trying to get Salah in along with some of the leagues favorites over the course of the international break upon activating my WC but, it couldn’t go with the budget. Had to let Salah be in the market and ensured I had Haaland whom have been the cheat code for the beginning of this season and he didn’t disappoint me. Haaland goes on to score a brace while, M. Salah gets nothing. Something I ought to have done a long 2GWs ago.

Watkins finally finds the net, I doubt most of you would be getting the most of this from him. Jamie Vardy has been phenomenal for Leicester City, the old man just knows his job and doesn’t fail in getting the points and his priced good too.

Yay, please all idiots who thought Salah outscores Haaland this GW raise your hands.
Shit, nobody? Just me? Figures..

That's what you get if you go against a guy with consecutive hattricks. Today might be 3rd one in a row, while Salah hasn't done a thing so far.

Liverpool with the complete let down for me too, I would have been happy had they kept their cleansheet even if Salah didn't do nothing offensively, I anticipated that the attacking returns from Jota/Diaz would reduce so I switched to a double at the back with Trent-Arnold and Robertson, with the intention of saving a few millions off having Jota/Diaz but in the ended, still looks good going forward anyways.

Aside the two first games that Ipswich played in the EPL against two big teams, I feel they have a pretty good defensive line. Last GW3 draw to Fulham and today's draw to Brighton are proof of it. None of their defenders picked up a card, even in the game against Fulham too.
