You're probably right about stability, but I've chosen a more balanced squad at the moment, hopefully three cheaper players will bring in a similar amount of points than Haaland + Salah + just a slot player for 4 million. However, if Haaland and Salah will score points + captain's bonuses, then my strategy will be wrong.
Captain band is why we pay premium for Salah and Haaland. there isn't a player in the game that will deliver with that kind of consistency. Yes balanced squad will score maybe even more points over 10GWs but you will loose on captains. You have to pick one every GW and chances that you will pick wrong are much higher.

Also FOMO, imagine following, Haaland scores a brace against Chelsea and Ipswich looses 4:0 against Liverpool in a game where Nunez could have scored 3 more goals in last 20 minutes he got. Next GW, Haaland plays against Ipswich at home and everyone is captaining him. How do you feel? And he is so expensive that you probably need 3 transfers to bring him in.

Yes, I understand how it works. But if you want to beat the crowd in one move (and not go along with everyone else and hope for randomness) then betting against Haaland/Salah is the right choice. Because if the bet wins you will be higher than everyone else who bet on them. In this sense, betting on them and betting against them are very similar. The risk/reward ratio is the same. You can say that those who bet on them play with odds of 1.1 and those who bet against them 5.0 haha. The only imbalance that may distort the balance in this scheme is the bonus points for captaincy. Something to think about here.

When i saw the lineup and didnt see Garnacho in the starting lineup was really shocked. First round and already a player gets benched was wierd for me. Could have been epic if he scored the goal but sadly that didnt happen. This start could have been really good but what can you do,the season is still really long. I can already see Zirkzee in the first 11 but cant say that for Garnacho honestly.

I want to believe he was rested for some reasons best known to the Manager, he's been the club best attacker since last season and deserve to always start.

And Yes while you're focus on 38 GWs there are managers playing for weekly and monthly prizes. This dude triple captain Zirkzee. FPL is for everyone  Grin

That Garnacho miss will already hunt me in the first match of the fantasy pool. Im still shocked that someone can miss an empty net on 1-0 on such a big level of football. Really a shame plus Bruno with so many missed opportunties its a shame

Bruno up front? Idk about that one chief, glad I dodged that bullet (had him on my team right until an hour before deadline)

You didn't come back to say thank you on the Garnacho tip hahaha he almost gave you a perfect start, was very close. He needs to start next game ahead of either Admad or Rashford ( those two are pricks)

Fernandez looks more sharp and dangerous up front, he's going to cook more points for us, I can feel it in my balls.

I hope we don't have any Alts bastards among us this season.

...
I don't see any point in taking Salah at all, I think he's overrated, 12.5 million is not serious
...

Agreed if you're looking long-term. Short-term he's a great option because he's a guaranteed starter and LFC has a great opening schedule.
Saka has tough games, Foden won't be playing the first few games, Palmer is way too expensive this season, Son is decent but I want to see how him and Maddison play around Solanke now.

Salah is really expensive but offers stability, especially during times in which there is value to be found in relatively cheap mids like Doku, Garnacho, Jota and many more. Nkunku is a steal, but I'll take him a bit later.

EDIT: here's my team BTW:

Ehhh...  Cry i didn't know about Foden. That's 100%?

Spurs to obliterate Leicester to get to the top.

You really might be asking for way too much with this one right here, I mean looking at how they ended last season, I don't expect drastic difference just yet, Leicester wouldn't seem like a walk in the part for any team in the league rn, imo.
But one thing is certain right now, Leicester has a list of injuries for its attacker's which means they are likely to do more of the defending than attack to keep Spurs at bay..but like you said it won't be a walk in the park and this could mean a low scoring game or the foxes 🦊 get a beating of their life...

My prediction 5 nil win in favour of Spurs 🤡 Tongue

I hope the dream doesn't end up as a nightmare, the problem won't be Leicester City, it's going to be Tottenham just being as awfully pathetic as usual, but I guess we'll see, right ?

I'll go with Tottenham not to score 2 goals  Tongue
Spurs are usually good for goals, problem is they are good for goals in both ends of the pitch. Will be interesting to see how they will look this season with Solanke up front. He isn't Kane but he should be just what they were missing in the attack to connect all the good players they already have. If they only sold Richarlison.....

I need a Liverpool clean sheet today and for Spurs to obliterate Leicester to get to the top.

And of course, Isak has to return.

Everything else will more or less balance out.

And I for one might pick up Bruno very soon if he's stuck up front, I'd agree he best more deadly behind the striker and not having the CBs keeping him at bay, but he's got a great sight for goal imo, and if the supply line can be good, then I'll be a fan of having him for a few a run, that's if Palmer still remains out of reach and Saka turnout to be a bad investment..

Dude, nothing personal, but I didn't include you because you don't have any Liverpool assets considering their schedule.
I have Liverpool assets, but I don't see my name there lol Grin So I am not to be feared? wow! wow! wow! Cheesy

Zirkzee rescued them, but I am sure no one had him. Maguire too, was a really solid pick for the GW1.

How can we rate EMS performance for Fulham?

Rashford has to take some blame from that miss. He held onto the ball for long only to give a half baked pass. Rashford was just shit all game and he had just one job to redeem himself and gave a shitty pass to Garnacho. When I saw that chance, I was very delighted and was willing to let go of the fact that Garnacho started from the bench instead of making the starting line up.

That missed goal chance would have forgiven all. But it's past now. I only had Garnacho for today. Looking forward to my Liverpool trio to garner me enough points.

I cant agree with you. From my point of view you must score,he tried with his left leg to score and missed the ball if he went with his right this wouldnt happen and this are the little things in football you learn as a child. Rashfords ball was precise even tho he played the game badly overall.

I was on a 1-0 correct score for this game, and with a goal already on the scorecard when that opportunity presented itself I was 101% certainly that my prediction was burst as that goal was clear as day..but they failed a seater.
I wonder what legendary Rud Vanestroy thinks about that miss because these professionals need to be better at finishing...Here we go, game one done and dusted we await for the real games to start.

He played a really good match honestly he deserved at least an assist. He missed two big goal chances but still how he played i have high hopes from him. First two players 7 points total solid start so hopefully i get more from the rest of the team.
