Betting on a sport site for me is gambling, You are risking your money to earn your odds on the opposing team.

anything that has risks involved is considered gambling. and those risks are not normal usual risks but some special form of risks. the risks that you can not predict, like when you roll a dice you don't know the result of in sports betting you don't know what can happen sometimes the other team pulls something off and wins against the odds so it is gambling.

It's definitely gambling because in Sports there's also house edge. In fantasy leagues like Draftkings (especially on Baseball) there are a couple of mathematicians that work full time and earn a living and then some as far as I know. It's all based on player stats so they know which lineup will have the best % to win that day. Most don't even know how the sport is played and can substitute players for potatoes, it's all about numbers and percentages.
Really? Like they compare stats of the two teams across all players that will go against each other and then can predict the result to a pretty good assumption? That doesn't really sound like gambling, that sounds like math. And of course they also take into consideration emotions and home field advantage etc...

I think betting and gambling are two different things .Completely.Here's why.

Betting : Is completely based on some logical aspects .Always ! For example consider two friends betting weather it will rain today. Now if one friend is thoroughly watching news, weather man's report,NASA's climate analysis and analyzing all other relevant data regrading to today's weather, he is more likely to win the bet as he has some kind of background study  or patterns .Same goes for sports and other stuff. If someone has great knowledge in football, they are most likely to guess if tonight's match between Manu vs Everton will be won by whom.

Gambling:Based on random events.Completely random. If you have 50 years of expertise playing poker but you still get some shitty cards you are likely to lose. Ofcourse they're always some shady strategies like understand the opponents reactions and stuff but still luck is all you need.Gambling works because people want it to be random, had it never been random we would never call it gambling.
Really good description I like it... but I think you overestimating betting a lot here, from what you said it looks like betting is the process where you could 'learn' the patterns and pick a winner, a stronger (on paper, by statistics etc.) team which always gonna win. And we all know that this is not working all the time, upsets are happening, heck if it was working 70% of times I would be professional bettor myself.

Yes of course as long as you putting your money at stake and hoping to wager a bigger amount to win whatever kind of game is it, then it is still called gambling.

Betting on sport are still gambling as you are still hoping to win money with the use of money that are on stake.

Well it certainly is gambling. Say you bet on a team which is 50 times favorite to win but the team is not able to score and end as a draw or the other team just manages to score, then you lose your bet. So its a gamble. But if you are able to make good choices on games, then you can increase your odds. But it will still be gambling.

Well I think it's still gambling, as my definition of gambling is when you risk something to try to profit from it. But I do agree with your statement that professional betting is not a myth. Same thing goes for sports trading, that is still sports betting but with a slightly different approach, and professional poker.

According to me both are same Betting on sport = gambling. Yes in both case casino betting and sport betting we use our coins to bet but in sport betting we can assume that game in casino it is depend on luck that's it so here we are doing betting only. So betting on anything is equal to gambling only so i don't find any difference.

off course you just saying it if there is a worth that used like betting off course it is a gamble. If you put money on a team who needs to win but also can lose  its 50/50 but still is a gamble.

Betting on sport is gambling and that is because you are hoping that you can earn some money with it if that will win and that is also the most risky thing of gambling.
So that have to change and many people thinks also that they can earn a lot of money in fast way but that is impossible.

off course betting on sport is gambling because you invest money before a game and wait till the end and watch witch team has won. So gambling in sport calls also gambling for sure.

sports betting is one part of gambling mate as long that you are placing your money at risk it is already a gambling, no assurance that you can earn just a pure luck from it.
Yes sports betting is kind of gambling but the main difference between sports betting and gambling is sports betting is highly knowledge-based. We can win in sports betting any previous experience or with knowledge on sports.

Well, it is true that betting on sports are actually a lot less chance based than playing a dice game. However, it doesn't mean that it's completely skill based and ranking based. Players fail time to time.

So yes, I think betting on sports is gambling.
