i think its pure gambling and nothing else it does not require any skills as it is just guessing the outcome of the game so i believe its nothing too much different from ordinary gambling on dice and so on

Nothing could be more far from the truth.

There are professional analysts for any kind of betting; you do think they don't require any skills to do their job? Betting takes knowledge of why you're betting on who/what. It's a lot more complex than a few guesses on who's going to win and that nonsense.

Yes I think it is gambling because you are basing it on odds and probability. And honestly I think alot of the biggest sporting events seem to be rigged.

I think this would fall under the category i call "informed gambling". There is pure gambling where it's just raw luck, % against % without anything else but chances where you can't think about a logic outcome. With betting, you can research and choose your pic based on evidence (a team or boxer performance or whatnot).

Professional Betting.. or Betting with high winnigs do require quite some "skill".
At least a lot of informations about the scene / insider informations.

If you haven't got any skill... And you don't have a guaranteed strategy that'll keep you winning forever (e.g. arbitrage), then it is gambling. It's the same as any other gambling activities.

Betting on sport = gambling?
Please write your mind.

Anytime you bet on something and you have a chance to lose your money it is gambling whether that be on sports or the stock market.  With sports you have a better chance at winning similar to stocks because you can do you research and crunch the numbers.  Politicians will have you believe that investing in the stock market is not "gambling" but it is all just symantecs.  It is all gambling, but again you have better odds when doing certain types of gambling.

It is sort of like gambling as you can win or lose. Other than that, it is just betting.

There is no sort of about it. It is gambling 100% and you can lose just as much getting carried away 'betting' as you can gambling in a casino. All in all it is the lesser of two evils should you know a thing or two about the sports your betting on. Oh yeh btw betting is gambling. Professional gambling is not a myth I know a few winners its just I know a lot more losers.

more user forum associated the betting sport to gambling and i don't understand why.
For me is 2 separate world, gambling (casino, dice ecc) have house edge , betting sport no.

Betting sport is 50% lucky and 50% strategy, gambling is only lucky

The same way you think gambling in casino is all luck, there will be people that will say the same thing about sports betting. At the end of the day it's all
luck, because even when you factor in all statistical info, there's always things that you can't predict. btw i believe most of the sports is rigged anyways,
atleast with better casino's you get provably fair chances..

cheers

Every bet is actually a 50/50 chance, because there are only 2 outputs, win or lose.
And obvious sport betting is gambling. U don't know the outcome yet so it is gambling.

i really think its gambling because of the house edge that will make you loose in the long run even though if you have a lot of experience on betting in sports and know a lot about the teams or players history

If you're making guaranteed bets, then no.

But that's called arbitrage.

of course its gambling even though it involves a little bit of knowledge it is still just a game of luck and you can possibly always loose because the matches might be unpredictable
