For unknown reason topic https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bfl-board-project-cointamination-eu-facility-orders-opened-for-chili-267649 was locked... Or someone with power hate that we took the lead... So for now I'm waiting to get answer why but it looks like they have changed some polices (see warning next to my PGP key signature)
I saw your post on the other thread. Yeah it seems that they don't like the shortened url's anymore. Same thing happened to my PGP key link.

Nice to see a BFL chip in action. Can't wait to see all 8 hashing away!

Busy day today...
Got it managed to get the board mining.
This first chip has not all internal engines available, so it is slower than normal. But it seems some of them will re-activate when increasing core-voltage.
I have to experiment with that later...

Scope: SPI decoding
Left meter: Chip-current in 100 mV per Ampere
Right meter: Core voltage

I believe we have first hashing board... And COINADO takes the lead... Smiley

I knew it was a good idea to transfer my chips to you. Smiley

I'm impressed with the pace of the board development.

Well boards will be ready long before your order arrives and I think that we will be able at that time mount 100+ chips per day... We wil have 300+ chips experiences if you count only GB...

So if you are interested you can read first post(I hope everything is up to date I will clean it in next days since now everything is crazy...):

I was just asking to see if is worth it to gamble with BFL again (yeah I know, but bitfurys chips aren't that cheap either). I'm lucky enough I got my Jalepenos somewhat early. If they could deliver 100 chips in 100 days and have them mounted into boards by November it would still have a ROI of 55 days with 40% difficulty raises. It would still consider almost every ASIC company is weeks, months, and in BFL's case a whole year behind on their production schedules, with the exception of the DIY crowd.

Has anyones experiences doing a bulk 100 chip order been better than their regular miner orders? I wouldn't have the tools around, nor the hardware to mount them to test them, but if I do make an order for 100 chips. I could possibly send them to the developers who need them most and hope a DIY BFL solution can actually happen.

No he is talking about "2 weeks" BFL is using all the time... Or with other words delays...

You are right about "2 weeks." However, it is true that they said "2 weeks" for delivery of sample chips and were only a little late that time.  Also they have a financial incentive to deliver chips since 50% of payment is due on delivery, and the chips will probably come directly from Globalfoundries which should avoid the other supply chain issues.  I assume you agree since you are on schedule to have boards ready by September...

I think he is talking about the sample chips they said they would ship out in 2 weeks which they shipped out after about 4 weeks.

Has anyone here with BFL bulk chip orders have an estimate/update on when they should be getting their chips? I know BFL said '100 days' but they also said '2 weeks'. I 'm just wondering if its worth it to get 100 of their chips + these boards, or upgrade my KNC Saturn...
There is no way they could get a batch of chips in 2weeks, it takes 2months just to make wafers, then they have to be cut up and packaged into chips by another company. 100days sounds reasonable.

Yes but I don't think that "2 weeks" was because of chips... Personally I would not put all eggs in one basket but it is your call... And Saturn might end up being "2 weeks"...

Upgrade the Saturn.  If you purchase chips now from BFL the earliest they will come will be mid November (optimistic) and then you will still need to have them installed, etc.

Well it was never done with this in mind... You also need to know that 8 board unit uses 100+W and 16 200+W... So cooling elements will not be small... And you need to make it rack compatible... And first test that I made with Jala and see how it is put together I would say I was right about the way chip cool it self... And that complicates things even more... It looks like you will need a heatsink below chips as well... But then again it might be Just the case that Jala had heatsink put on really poorly... That would explain 4% HW errors...

But since this is just a test board production can be made to fit...
