Why are you comparing the power usage of an existing device against the bullshit number that BFL have posted with any sort of confidence? They received eng. sample chip a couple weeks back and they still haven't posted any test results. The last time this happened for BFL their >1W/GH turned into 6W/GH.

Bitmain doesn't do pre-sales and have proven to be quite tight lipped on their development strategies. Did look into Bitmain. Current products don't go past 200GH. Do have a good GH/$ ratio NOW, but hindsight is always 20:20. And they are SOLD OUT, have been for weeks now... Worse yet: no new & improved products coming up... next please...

I am definitely willing to make the distinction between the "get-rich-quick-generation" (or as I described them: the "spoiled brats") and the "old timers" (hey, YOUR words)...

And while the former tend to be a bit "spoiled" in their view of the world, the latter tend to be a bit too "idealistic" (nothing wrong with idealism, but Hardware Manufacturers ARE businesses, right?).

As I said before: I'm open to suggestions, if someone knows of a manufacturer who's offering better GH/$ I would be glad to look into them...

Too idealistic? Maybe, I'd suggest looking at the types of people that were involved/started the bitcoin experiment and that shed some light on their idealistic views.
