Personally, offline wallets or cold storages does sound more secured to me as it runs directly through my device like a phone, tablet or my laptop. Access is mine solely.

i love it when i get stakes from any cryptocurrency i am holding. I consider this a good strategy to prevent massive dumping of the token. Say Bitcore for example, this token i had it for several months during their staking period, now iam into pundiX token where in you can get stakes till year 2021. It would be a win win for holders of BIDM tokens as i can assume a good chances of success of the token as the exchange and marketplace grows over time since BIDM would be a utility token of this platform.
