I believe that we should not be guided by the opinion of Bill Gates on cryptocurrencies, firstly because most cryptocurrencies, and bitcoin incl. - they are not anonymous, and secondly, Bill Gates - can deliberately misinform us all with some personal self-serving motives.
Bill gates comments about crypto currency is his own opinion, everybody has his or her own opinion, So Bill gates saying cryptos is bad doesn't make it to be bad, after all they have partnered with some blockchain project.
I think that cryptocurrencies at the moment are really used only as a means to make money, and although it seems logical to me, since cryptocurrencies are money, but still a large number of scammers and many other people turn this idea (technology) into garbage.
I am more than confident that Bill Gates himself bought for a substantial amount of some coins. And the fact that he says may be speculative tactics.
Maybe Bill Gates is right, but I still won't leave the cryptocurrency market because I still need to rely on it to make money for me, even if its risk is increasing!
I also believe that he is right, but to leave the cryptocurrency because of this will not, because I see that here I can make good money. For me, there are more pluses than minuses in cryptocurrency.
I guess it depends how people intend to use the cryptocurrency, as for me it does not harm as long as we use responsibly.

I'm a fan of Bill gates works when I was young and I just wanted to say that he just saying what he just wanted to express what is inside his mind. But all he says about Cryptocurrency for me is nothing because it is more different from what I experienced to what he is saying. I am disappointed on his arguments about Cryptocurrency but still I respect him on how he looked at it.
Lol the only thing he can say it's because of drugs, drugs are the problem!!!!!!!!! NOT!, since we all know, if a government would want to erase all those drugs, government would do it. But no it's the opposite, governments themselves are putting drugs into their countryes, so government can earn from drugs and kill most of the unwanted population. I can hear everything what's going on, specially in USA, there government is trafficking cocaine to their states, and DEA and other abc agencies are hunting only those who are not with government. Shitty governments are the problem and not the drugs.

How about reversing it's content and idea, you can use crypto currency for a good thing. We need to balance in every situation and look at the other side, any kind of currency looks bad if you use it to a bad thing, but also you can still use it for a good thing as well. If there is any new technology that will threaten Microsoft's status, I believe that Bill Gates will also think it is very bad. For Bill Gates, bad or not only depends on whether it is in his interest.

I do not intend to support bill gates, but maybe he is right if indeed today there are some who misuse cryptocurrency like he said, and maybe also the current market situation is cryptocurrency is also bad, unstable and uncertain conditions make it difficult to predict the fluctuation price of a cryptocurrency which also makes it now quite risky to trade crypto coins.
Maybe Bill Gates see lately that crypto currency is a threat to his business that is why he is saying those bad things to crypto. It hurts because when i joined Bitcoin by last year, i saw the interview in the youtube that he is supporting Bitcoin by saying no one can stop Bitcoin and now he is saying these bad words. Lets just ignore him as he might change his mind too like JP Morgan.
I see that talk as a way he understand and what he thinks, but before cryprocurrency there has been a drug trafficking , child abuse , terrorist and was finance by cash and till now was not able to trace or nail anyone or stop cash as means of payment but here come a new technology which is giving way to equity and those in power never want what will distruct their cheating plan by imposing tax and when the person lost in trading which is possible would government pay or share the lost with him, we need privacy and why the never want crypto to survive.

I think people are trying to understand now that we need government to clarify the issue surrounding tax in particular, the space is growing and they can't neglect this size of money flowing through the space..
Unfortunately, I do not trust to nobody and Bill is not an exception. You know knife from nearest store can be used against the people on the street. Did exist money laundering before cryptocurrency? What about terrorism? For me it is not more then just an opinion.
