I'm not very focused right now, but I think I didn't find a topic about this. Forgive me if it was already posted. Binance announced on Twitter that they're donating $10 million to express their support with Ukraine. They are now gathering donations for the Ukraine Emergency Relief Fund here. The usage of cryptocurrencies and crypto businesses are starting to become relevant in the ongoing Russian invasion. Fewer and fewer areas are holding their apolitical stance, even if they used to be apolitical before. I wonder who will be next. It's interesting how Buterin will react, given that he's originally from Russia.

I wish others can follow suit then the world would see the relevance of blockchain in times like this. Such donation should show how important and transformational it is in life and to humanity at large.

Russian people do not want war.
Ukranian people do not want war.
People from Belarus do not want war.
Therefore at the end of the day we have to understand that it's the sick political situation that makes everything worse for people that they end up in a horrible situation. I had to run from Ukraine 3 days back from Ivano frankivsk and stand on the border for hours before they let me in with my 2 cats. What Russia is doing is horrible. All my savings, my house that I rent everything is now gone. I do hope people continue to make sure gracious donations because Ukraine does need it. NATO is not going to help and WW3 can be there any moment, I literally do not know what's going to happen now.

Good that crypto businesses have the initiative to do these. I think Buterin already reacted and oppose Putin's action which he said ETH is neutral but he is not. He should be donating his money to Ukraine for aid to the civilians.

Not sure if donating to government officials will be good though because the money might be used to buy ingredients to make Molotov cocktails. By donating I hope the money goes to the supplies to the people who will be isolated and will have food and basic supplies to survive.

I would have taken this as something part of their cooperate responsibility but this is not it...this has to be something which falls in the bracket of humanitarian efforts and this could not have happened at a better time than this... Binance you efforts are well appreciated, keep leaving your mark on the world map to let people know of crypto world.

$10 million not a small amount, so far binance has always tried to be involved in many charitable activities, especially when covid is at its peak, they donate a lot. CZ is very generous, it's nice to hear that there are many people in crypto who care about the plight of the Ukrainian people.

I do hope that this makes it even more to news outlets and be seen as "how?" or "what is Binance?" then people would be exposed to cryptocurrencies now and that's a great thing to have. I think that's a great thing for sure. I really hope that they manage to go to the right people and make sure that it helps the right people.

I have seen people from Russia posting that they are against what is happening, do you think that it's the same for Buterin?

Such a huge gesture from the CEO of one of the top exchanges, it feels relieved to see crypto is a saving grace in a time where people's hope has been dashed, my respect for crypto has grown more, those who constantly speak against this technology are not fully aware of its various capabilities. I like this humanitarian aspect of binance, I sincerely hope all the donations are channeled to the right recipients.

It doesn’t surprise me, Binance has always been a very trustworthy, noble exchange. Obviously this is great publicity for them but also it will go down as a tax write off so it’s win win for them. Regardless though kudos to Binance, also let’s pray for people there.

Crypto shows humanity this is the reason the existence of crypto is very important for the world, the CEO of Binance has done the best thing in his life, anything related to war will always be sacrificed especially civilians. I hope this war ends soon. I'm proud to be a member of the Binance community. Great

It's a good example but again the fund is central and people can't check how the donation money is used, I was expecting a multi-signature address but what is done is the database management by binance.charity/

Cryptocurrencies have many uses, and it is good that helping people is one of them. times is changing.

Didn't you see the tweet about donating to Ukraine earlier than him?
Just ten minutes after the official Ukrainian release,AOM, a Defi application token, also donated 1,000 tokens to Ukraine
