That  file is not in that location.  In fact, there isn't even an Appdata folder in my user file.

you have to
enable viewing hidden files
google that.

Ok.  That has been accomplished. same error messages already running through, though.

You did the whole fix? or just got to view the app data?
Not being a snit, but please be more specific. Mainly defining "that" "it", "this" etc. We're not mind readers here, son!

My apologies.  Lack of sleep setting in (not that you would know what THAT's like.  lol)

I deleted the files on both machines, restarted, resynched, and they are both now up and running again.   Error messages returned at the beginning but have since seemed to have disappeared.

is the current height 4807?

Note that I ^ corrected "normal" (typo) to "abnormal."

I have 4808, but being one block off is not abnormal....slight latency between seed nodes and such across the internet.

It's if you're 5, 10, 65 blocks off, like that pool was, THAT is bad, and means "wrong blockchain."

Man that guy meant well but that really screwed up everyone. Like hundreds of people. Our team has been mopping that up non-stop for two days.

so do you think there's some way to have ccminer solo mine?

There is a forked ccminer that works on cryptoknight but its not worth it. Not only is it no more efficient than cpu mining, it also hogs the machine making it practically unusable.

Thanks! good to know.

Dunno the stats of it. I really think most any newish Windows or Linux 64-bit computer should be able to solo mine BipCoin at this point.
Try it and let us know.

edit: I see you already know this, its not your question. disregard

If it works similarly to other coins, then you should be able to mine to 127.0.0.1 instead of pool ip, on the port that is open for mining on your machine.
On bitcoin clones there is a server=1 option in the conf along with a specific port. There must be an equivalent for monero clones but I haven't searched. Try googling something along those lines

need new miner  CryptoNote GTX 1070 gtx 1080  Grin Grin Grin   NO people up NV GPUS

MurderDawg, go to %appdata%\bipcoin and delete all the files in that folder (when the bipcoin wallet/client is off). Reopen bipcoind and let it redownload the blockchain.
If you can't get %appdata% to work, the full path should be something like this: C:\Users\Yourusername\AppData\Roaming\bipcoin\...

yeah, AFAIK, there are no ASICs for CryptoNote. I think that's a good thing.

How about GPU? Is this coin mineable with GPU's? maybe even FPGA's?

Hey rock, you got a minute to walk MurderDawg through the reset? I'm writing tutorials for the GUI wallet.

There's a ccminer release which supports cryptonote coins, although it is fairly old (2 years). It gets 250 h/s on a gtx 750 ti so definitely not bad, but I have no idea how to make that work solo, not in a pool. If you know that, do tell me. I would love to see what my card can do.

Been trying to ask a question about that but it wouldn't let me.

What is the "it" in that sentence? "it wouldn't let me"
I don't understand.

The "it" was this site.  Kept refusing to let me post a reply.

I haven't tried either, but I do know that GPUs should work, but don't have the huge advantage with CryptoNote-based coins that they do with Bitcoin and Bitcoin-based coins.

If you try it, please let me know.

I think the ideal BipCoin solo miner would be a crapload of powerful regular Desktop computers ganged together with the sides open and cheap box fans blowing in them.

yeah, stopped the daemon, exited wallet, deleted the chain, started daemon, waited till sync, opened wallet. Since I started mining again, the looping error stopped. Those errors must come from my own wallet but I'm on the correct chain, we tested transactions so...I'm off to chill, setting goddamn miner rigs for 12hours now.

Okay.  Noob here.  Trying to figure out why i still can't land any blocks.  Was told that even with a lower hashrate (26-28) it should still be possible.  Currently running two laptops (fully cooled) at about the same rate but nothing for hours (and hours and hours).

Anyone want to help the moron?

I have about 100h and didn't mine any block for 20hours, so..yeah, if you see in bipcoind your hashrate, just wait and pray Cheesy

Thanks.  Prayer seems to be all i have left.   Tongue

Welcome to the party, MurderDawg.

See my comment one post above.
