I don't know about New York school that they are accepting bitcoins are not. but in India what he mentioned Dharwad International school is accepting bitcoins it is false news. They are not accepting any bitcoins in fact that school teachers don't know what is bitcoin. I think some people are spreading false news.

Impressed, I know for a fact that NY is on the fore front of bit coin adoption. A lot of shops, delis etc accept bitcoin as payment. I think they are also the State with the highest number of bitcoin ATMs, or thereabout. This is positive news for bitcoins, and BBC is usually wide read and a reliable source.

This is amazing if this is really true. Another accomplishment for bitcoin, it is like publictizing the coin. Very nice to know that even in school they make this an option to use bitcoin it is like bitcoin is upgrading not only in market but in schools too. I think now it is time to realize the importance of this currecny. Soon there will be bitcoin acceptaed everywhere and we will realize we are in a truly digital world.

Exactly, next generation is a faster when it comes to the capturing or absorbing new technology and Bitcoin is not an exception, I am sure in next 5 years we will see many users will be from the age group of 18 to 24 years old. School is a very friendly place to explain about such new technology to the kids and it will make them familiar with the concept. It is also important to implement as we are heading towards cashless society and crypto currencies will play a key role in the process.

I don't know how to react on this news. From the one side it's good for bitcoin mass adoption, but from the other side the head of the school makes parents to choose: pay with cash all in once or pay with bitcoin, I know the education in the USA in not cheap and not everybody got the idea of bitcoin yet, so, I suppose people will chose another school or will have to get what digital currencies are in a short period. Am I wrong?

Well, if the tuition that is offered at that school is really good, like above and beyond every other school then i really see no reason why they don't want to accept credit card payments because there is going to be a predominantly rich parents funding the student's school fees.

The biggest concern though is that although they said that they like bitcoin and have invested in it, they are essentially taking no risk by accepting bitcoin. Because they're simply going through a payment processor such as Bitpay and this simply doesn't have any difference at all when compared to accepting credit cards, because in the end you're still guaranteed a USD sum.

To achieve stability, btc needs to have merchants accepting bitcoin value instead of accepting bitcoin for its usd value.

Yes I agree that this news can make bitcoin more popular among the people. If i were in New York, i will definitely send my children to that school because i can easily provide education to my children by just paying bitcoin which is already being convenient for me because it is an advantage of me because i purchased a lot of bitcoins a few years ago and now i can enjoy it and i will start from paying the school expenses of my children via bitcoin.
