This is great because this is a perfect example that people are now making action to finally show some signs that they are accepting bitcoin and bitcoin is a good way to pay something via making it as a payment option on their service. I'd like to see bitcoin is being accepted in malls so i can be easily purchase the things that i want with bitcoin.

You are right! Every time establishment will use bitcoin as a payment is a big step of our community, it means the more they use it then more people will be informed about bitcoin and rest will follow.

"The head of two Montessori schools in New York won't let parents pay by credit card - but he is accepting Bitcoin."

Bitcoin accepted at New York pre-school.

This is something really positive thing that bitcoin is being adopted where is a tech-savvy next generation. I am sure in next few years we are going to see such things happening in most of the countries.

There is a school in India which started accepting bitcoin way back in 2016.

This School Accepts Bitcoin !.

It is funny that the montessori schools in new your wont let parents pay by credit card but they are accepting bitcoin. Maybe because they want to invest on bitcoin too and they know that it has a lot of potential to grow.

Already a school in India has started accepting bitcoin, so a pre school accepting bitcoin in New York doesn't look to be big. The reason is that the city has got majority of people aware about bitcoin as well the virtual currency compared to India, so this can be appreciated but this will happen commonly over the years to come.

Yeah its a good start for bitcoin as being used in day to day life but have you thought that there can be some serious hiding of information about their real money earned. they can easily use those bitcoins to send to multiple accounts which don't even belong to them and hence money can be used for wrong things.

I think thing that is more important than accepting bitcoin itself is that he is actually a) a bitcoin investor himself and b) not accepting any form of credit card payments. Kudos to him, because bitcoin is designed to be the alternative to credit card payments which is so easily hacked and used for fraud. The fact that he doesn't accept credit cards at all mean sthat he really does believe in bitcoin, and not just using it just to gain publicity. It's more of a statement to me.

Though indeed, he is converting bitcoin into fiat as soon as he receives it which i'm strongly against. It might just be that he thinks bitcoin price is too high at the moment to be sustainable. Hopefully, he is able to accept bitcoin as is instead of just using it as a payment processor, or gateway.

I hate to be the party pooper but I don't think that this is great news at all. All it means is that the school wants some extra publicity and has done so by stating that they accept BTC. In reality, if a parent does end up paying in BTC then the school would cash it out for FIAT immediately. The school has bills to pay (electricity, equipments, salaries etc). Unless each link in the chain is prepared to accept BTC, there'll come a point where the BTC needs to be converted into old fashioned cash to pay said bills. My gut tells me that this link happens to be the very first one in the chain.
I'd be surprised and delighted to be proved wrong.

Don't know how much truth there is to this story, but if it is true that's amazing to see something like this happening. Though I'll have to say, not accepting credit card does seem like a pretty dumb thing to do given that you're going to need to hit the masses when you're running a school like this, so you're kinda making a horrible business decision by not allowing people to use major payment options. But if he can afford to do something like this and it's a helpful publicity stunt for Bitcoin then so be it.

I'm not going to be the one to complain much!
Dumb?  I'd say that's goddamn retardified!  If you're balling enough to pay for a kindergarten like that, you're rich enough to pay how you want.   You could pay with plebian ballsacks if you wanted to, nevermind bitcoin.  But it's good to see mass adoption however it manifests itself.   Teachers there probably suck though.
