Today I login, and see this.

So the price is as stable as Preev? Exact rate?

And when I login

Since E-coin sell your bitcoins on exchange, there is a difference between the buy price (most companies show it on the main page) and the sell price (in your e-coin cabinet), called "spread".

I would call this robbery not spread.

E-COIN IS A COMPLETE SCAM.
DO NOT BUY UNTIL THIS IS RESOLVED
I REPEAT, DO NOT BUY.
THEY STOLE $20 WITHOUT A VALID EXPLANATION. JUST FUCKING RIPPED ME OFF AND GAVE BULLSHIT REASONS.

My story:

I bought a card a week or two ago. Was fine, charging in places, BTC>Card, all cool. Worked well.

Until I decided to make a purchase of $1k+
This was on a shopping site.

So I send 2.07 BTC, as I already had a bit.
At that time, the transaction was at "$949"
As soon as it arrived, it said "$924.11"
I made a ticket and the woman asked me for the TX Id.
I gave it to her and she said the "EXCHANGE RATE" which apparently was lesser according to her
So I said fine, fuck this.

Today I login, and see this.

Nice ripoff assholes.

Don't believe their no fees crap.
This is marketing, the price in the first picture is buy price and in the second screenshot it is the sell price which in every exchange is not the same.

E-coin has just launched and I guess they would need time.
They launched about a year ago if I'm not mistaken.

I don't think they are scam.
I also believe they're not scam. But when it comes to money you want to be 100% sure that your funds are safe. Can you even imagine a situation when you call your bank and they don't answer?

All in all I'm a bit disappointed with E-Coin. It started so well: good reviews, nice website, seamless order and the card arrived quickly. But I'm now a bit dubious about topping up my e-coin card at all. If a financial institution is not responding to customers' emails that's quite alarming and suspicious. What will happen in case there's some transaction issue?

I guess I'll have to go with Xapo or whatever it's called. Sad

Xapo is no good either as the fee will make you go crazy. Bit-x has a bit reasonable fees but still there hasn't been any good debit card compared to Visa. I heard of some anonymous debit cards with absolutely no fees but they too did not last long. E-coin has just launched and I guess they would need time. I don't think they are scam.

Xapo has the same type of card no?

Xapo use the same card issuer as E-coin. The main difference between them, that Xapo converts BTC to fiat money during purchase (on the fly) and with E-Coin you have to do it manually (that gives you opportunity to control/lock the exact converting price).

Ahh was wondering the difference between these.

I hope creating soon Bitcoin debit card available worldwide and with simple verification steps online
Most of the wallets offering Bitcoin's cards either not supporting many countries, or very hard to verify the account there

The verification process usually takes less than one week. But you should note, that providing incomplete documentation could result in processing delays.
Yes, it's exactly the experience we have with other companies - 3-4 days to verify (but no longer than a week). And please note we haven't received any response from them concerning incomplete documentation or something like that. We sent exactly what was requested - ID and proof of address. We would be happy to send any additional documents but they didn't respond and also never notified us on the progress/outcome.

I got an email that they were hiring and someone should be to help you.
Don't know yet if they have enabled getting phone calls but the best way is to contact them at least through emails.

Hey,

We ordered a card and after receiving it immediately started the verification process. It was like back in October and still no progress on that one. We contacted your support but no answer so far. When can we expect some news? How long does the verification take normally?
