I understand that mining will be available on November 1? Or October 25? Or I do not understand something?

Clueless!

It's just a scam coin trying to get some free advertisement and exposure by being a fork of BTC instead of doing an ICO.

Unfortunately, imho, this will be the new method to make ALT coins now. Especially, with ICO’s
now being outlawed. I expect dozens of dubious forks off btc as a result. 😔

I think futures' trading is establishing a value before the official release in November.  Hopefully they will have an official wallet by then which is a must in my opinion.  I think it is as legitimate as BCH, but going in the same direction of confusion of naming like bitcoin cash (BCC, BCH, BitcoinABC, "the real BTC"---soon) did by using the BCC ticker which an easy search reveals is bitconnect.  BTG (bitcoin gold/gpu) is listed right now on coinmarketcap ranked 940 @ $250 as is BTG (bitgem) ranked 970 @ $6.54.

To really take this coin seriously, the naming needs to be established and consistent.  For example:[ANN] BitcoinGPU (BTCGPU) - forked spinoff, new PoW, adjusting size cap, segwit  should be the main thread, but all the chatter is in here: Bitcoin Gold (BTG) : [ANN] Bitcoin Gold : Make Bitcoin Decentralized Again  https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.23181773

I'm sure bitgem users won't complain because of the confusion boost, just as bitconnect went from ~$60 to ~$200 since august 1st

The price will certainly dip more before the coin distribution and right after. I don't think it will hold up like BCH, but that's just my opinion. Not many people are going to hold the coin, but who knows how the whales want to play it.

right now as i can see bitcoingold lost his value. 200 usd now and i believe it will go down below 100 usd.
Honestly, I see it on 10$ in few weeks, maybe even in few days. I would love to be wrong, since if BTG remain over 100$ , it would attract some GPU miners which now mine zCash and Ethereum, so difficulty would decrease on those two, but IMHO BTG is not worth more than 10$. I wouldn't pay even 10$ for it. And everything because of greedy developers with their pre-mine "get rich quickly scheme"

So is BTG tied to actual gold? or is it just the name?

It's tied to the stuff you wipe off your ass with toilet paper.

Bitcoin Gold? What the heck is that? I've never heard of it before. Btw, on marketcoincap, BTG is assigned to Bitgem.

bitcoingold would be the split coin of the bitcoin fork today. Just like bitcoin cash
another free altcoin if you have available bitcoin balance in your bitcoin wallet
After the split, bitcoin owners stand to receive one bitcoin gold for each bitcoin, assuming their wallets or exchanges support the new creation.
But i think bitcoin gold value is not that much when we compare it to bitcoin. But bitcoin gold release maybe have a little dumb on bitcoin price.

What do you mean by BITCOIN GOLD how it is differ from the regular bitcoin and if you're going to invest which would prefer and which has the best rate of return.
I am a newbie please let me know about BITCOIN GOLD if there is any scope or it have a good future in terms of profit.

Right now, Bitcoin Gold, will just become another altcoin, where it will only be pump and dump. But, if and when, Bitcoin Gold, create their infrastracture, their coin application is really material. That's the time, it will become a legit coin such as Bitcoin. Enjoy the new coin.

i see that bitcoingold is very akin to bitcore, they both have 1:1 swap with bitcoin and they are both minable with gpu, but bitcore use a different name and didn't get a good traction, bitcoin gold will be more scammy i think

yes... i think so.

How can btcgpu.org be off-line in the fork day... really?

Any signs of wallets for it yet?
What if it's just a hoax? Several exchanges are now "trading" something that doesn't even have a wallet, only based on an anonymous promise. If they never release a wallet, the exchanges are the ones who created a fork on their system, which will slowly be forgotten. That would definitely be the joke of the year in crypto!

Bitcore didn't fork anything.

Bitfinex, binance, yobit, hitbtc - BTC holders in these exchanges received BTG after the fork was initiated and the trading started in respective exchanges right? Wallets not active for deposit / withdraw.
The holders who had BTC in private wallets will transfer BTG to these exchanges once the wallets are active for trading.
or are these speculative tradings?
Please comment....

Yes. Yobit and HitBTC already giving out BTG to users and trading has started a few hours ago. These markets are not real BTG, instead these are futures trading (speculative, as you say). I've dumped my BTG on HitBTC as soon as I received it Cheesy

Exactly, people who hold BTC in their own wallet cannot send/receive BTG yet because the network is not launched yet. Expect some movement in BTG prices (most likely go down though) when people actually be able to make transactions on BTG chain.

I also sold all BTG as soon as I received because I do not have any information about this altcoin and I am sure the price of BTG will drop very quickly and may become the 2nd BCH and will not attract investor
