We all know that in recent years, the market value of bitcoin has been decreasing, but the price of bitcoin has been rising. I don't think bitcoin has strong competitors in the short term. If lightning network is implemented, bitcoin will be more powerful.
Couldn't agree less the technology behind Bitcoin is really cool and the Devs never stops working to keep Bitcoin at the epoch in the cryptospace, currently Bitcoin has no competitor although can't say for the future because a lot of project are coming up everyday and some of them are very good innovations.
I can agree with you on that right now that bitcoin is not having a serious and comparable competition, but it can be caused by its popularity and spreading around the world and we can just miss the potential coin.
Bitcoin is considered the second best in the digital money market after jumping from $ 1000 to $ 20,000 in December 2017 which makes us realize that bitcoin is the No. 1 in the digital market.
I am not using any other crypto currency at the moment, but I don't think any of them will ever overtake bitcoin. Its the standard of all, its like money now, do you see money competing with anything else? I really don't see that. So I feel bitcoin will hold it own in the market and would probably keep growing.
But you do see different currencies competing with each other. A century ago, British pound was the world currency. Now it's the USD. In the future it itself may be ousted by yen, or some other currency. It's true, no altcoin so far could provide decent competition to Bitcoin, but I don't think that the future appearance of such an altcoin is that impossible a scenario.

Over the last couple of years several of those competing cryptocurrencies were created. First litecoin, than several copies of litecoin, doge, dash, eth, copies of eth and dash, new coins with so many new features that would be “better” than bitcoin in some way and another. Still, bitcoin is the most valuable of them and the most widely used. Now you have Bitcoin Cash, which has the exact purpose of competing with bitcoin, even keeping it’s history as part of the blockchain. And bitcoin value is increasing.

There is no doubt that bitcoin has no competition because bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency and it is the best crypto among the rest so i believe that no one crypto can able to beat or overtake bitcoin as the number one coin, bitcoin value can definitely say that it is the most promising coin.
bitcoin survives at this time, survives the struggles and obstacles that come into its path and with this bitcoin is stronger than others. Improvements only prove that bitcoin really does its best to be on top and with this no one can beat it.
It did survive for a long time now, but there is much more time and oter coins can be at the top too after some time. Nobody know when or what coin it may be. But i can agree that it has no competition, for now that is.

The competition will always exist and is deliberately created in order to make the market move better and faster, some coins now look very have the potential to compete with bitcoin both about price movements and the level of confidence. Thus it is clear that bitcoin always has competition, although in the end it is seen that bitcoin still leads in cryptocurrency, but someday there will be another coin that beats bitcoin because it is like this which always will happen in investment, so that market becomes passionate and investor it is always increasing that in the end the world of crypto becomes the main choice of every investor in investing and cryptocurrency grows wider until one day will be able to control the world.
This is really a correct statement, bitcoin will continue to be the number one, no one can beat it and other coins can dream freely but that will be just imaginations. As we look back, bitcoin survived years as of this moment, it survives the struggles and hindrances that comes into its way and with this the bitcoin is more stronger than any other. no competition for now. When we look at the prices bitcoin is so far ahead of everybody for now atleast. I think in the next decade or two more coins will rise up there and co exist with bitcoin which will be goodnews for everyone when cryptos become more mainstream.

For me, bitcoin as of now has no competition, i mean no coin that has been like the value and popularity of bitcoin. But, if there is some changes in some other high valued coins like etherium then also the bitcoin lowers it value, then we can say that bitcoin can yave its match up or probably say its competition.

Bitcoin has many competitors nowadays. There altcoin that has big future and that keeps the users to invest in them beside bitcoin. They see that bitcoin value drops a lot. The drop of bitcoin shows its weakness.
