competition might still arrived in future when someone create some things more different and easy than bitcoin, no one thought something can be created that overthrown the likes of paypal skrill etc.
Currently has no competition now but in future we shall be seeing a crypto coin that will compete hard with btc which will come with special unique technology and use case.
The best developers in crypto are working on bitcoin.
Any dev team claiming to launch a "better bitcoin" would struggle to convince every Bitcoin holder to trust their shiny new coin.
I totally disagree with that, Bitcoin was not in existence in some few years back. There are many crypto-currencies coming up i strongly feel that either one of the new up coming currencies will overtake Bitcoin or simply a new era of currency will over take cryptoworld.
I think its not all about competitions against different virtual coins. Bitcoin has it own. Regardless into its market's value and its strokes, figuring which better or not will always be depend in our own perception and for me its not a competition between bitcoin and altcoins but our choice. Yet both are still working perhaps has the same benefits gained.
Bitcoin is the first currency entered into a real-time environment with a lot of technology-oriented behind it, till now there is no competition to the Bitcoin and it will take some more years to get compete for Bitcoin because in some countries Bitcoin is already legalised.

Nah, they can compete with the technology and some new features of their coins or tokens or whatever but they will never stand a chance to dethrone Bitcoin on its position or if they have, it will only be 0.00001% chance and it looks pretty impossible to happen at this moment. I think you're wrong on what you see on ICO's(Initial Coin Offerings), they are not helping Bitcoin but they are using Bitcoin's name to promote their new currency and this is the reality. If they are brave enough they should pair their coins or tokens to fiat and don't pair it with BTC but they won't do that because pairing newly created coins or tokens to Bitcoin is a marketing strategy to make their ICO more fruitful to investors.
All I can say that bitcoin has no competition. Crypto being compete into bitcoin but still the best is bitcoin. Nowadays, bitcoin is leading in the market because of its price that no other can compete of because of its popularity and demand. Bitcoin is being on top nowadays...

I think it is true if we say bitcoin has no competition today but it's validity remains only for some extend because being first crypto currency in the world it has gained a great reputation around the world so if people talks cryptocurrency they refer to bitcoin but today many currencies are introduced claiming more features, qualities and better advantages so some day one of these will give a great competition for bitcoin because we cannot deny the fact that with these rapid technological advancement currencies made today and the future will be better and efficient that the one's made year ago

The competition will always exist and is deliberately created in order to make the market move better and faster, some coins now look very have the potential to compete with bitcoin both about price movements and the level of confidence. Thus it is clear that bitcoin always has competition, although in the end it is seen that bitcoin still leads in cryptocurrency, but someday there will be another coin that beats bitcoin because it is like this which always will happen in investment, so that market becomes passionate and investor it is always increasing that in the end the world of crypto becomes the main choice of every investor in investing and cryptocurrency grows wider until one day will be able to control the world.
Bitcoin is the top coin and will remain so as long as the powers that be want it there. It appears from recent events this entire space has been co-opted by some force. This may become the one world currency the that world government wants.
