Absolutely right mate. Bitcoin has no competitor but it is such a shame when i see members in this forum comparing ethereum to bitcoin and even making claims that ethereum has the potential of overtaking bitcoin. Well they would always be wrong because bitcoin is the King of cryptocurrencies.

In terms of decentralization + technology i agree on this, but bitcoin has sme other competitors on the market that are going well too, i am not trying to create fud or try to create a discussion, but bitcoin has some other competitors on the game at the moment.
Of course Bitcoin has stayed on the number one position since its inception and appears to have no tight competitor on the market. With Ethereum which shows a direct competition with Bitcoin, it has to achieve another same market volume before it catches up with Bitcoin, thus, Bitcoin's market cap is twice more than that of Ethereum.
yes that is a fact that there is no competition of bitcoin, bitcoin is increasing day by day, all the people are going to use bitcoin instead of fiat currency in their local markets.

I explained it in many threads that Bitcoin is unbeatable. There is no comparison in real between bitcoin with other coins. I Can't think to compare others coin with bitcoin. Undoubtely you're right. Bitcoin is a model for cryptocurrencies and others only try to make it look like it, because the whole world realizes that Bitcoin is the original and the leader among cryptocurrencies. Its thriving development and refined structure in which almost every detail has been taken care of makes it unsurpassed by other cryptocurrencies, and although there is now a terrible decline in the popularity of cryptocurrencies and reduced demand, Bitcoin still maintains a good level.

For me, though, new coins with many new and modern features, I still think Bitcoin has the advantage that new altcoins can not. Bitcoin still holds the top spot in the cryptocurrency market and leads the trend and directly affects the remaining altcoin.
Well it depends on what you're comparing really. If you talk in terms of use case and everyday usability bitcoin's main competition is Ethereum purely do the fact a high percentage of alts (tokens) are built on it, therefore its use case is much you real whereas bitcoin's use case IMO is sort of lost. If we are comparing in terms of value, of course bitcoin has no competition for now because it acts as the standard bearer for crypto. Its all too evident in the recent bear market, when bitcoins falls, it drags everything with it. I suppose to factually say bitcoin has competition, alts have to become independent of bitcoin.
actually bitcoin has a competition. by today mining process is more popular and profitable therefor mining rate is high. because of that reason we can't show the competition. but in the future mining process will be more difficult and people will go away from mining. in that position bitcoin has high competition and we will be able to show that.

Altcoin to me is just a way to multiply my bitcoins, sometimes all my bitcoins are invested in a few altcoins but in the end i sell all of them for more bitcoins.
I also do the same thing with you .. Bitcoin has been more popularity and familiar to people, many are investing in Bitcoin because it is the one of the highest currency and well reliable. There is no other Altcoins to compete with Bitcoin. Though ETH prince now in the marketcap is trying to meet Bitcoin price but the price is far below in the Bitcoin price. Therefore is no Altcoins to compete Bitcoin.

Yes, I think bitcoin will be finally replaced by another cryptocurrency. I don't mean bitcoin will die. I mean another cryptocurrency can have more market capitalization. Bitcoin is now the first coin just because of its popularity.

That's one of the reasons as to why the market is slow in growth, BTC is comfortably seated at the top of the crypto market and there seem to be no competition at all from any coin giving it reasonable challenge. It was foretold that ETH would mount a serious challenge to BTC's position uptop, but the coin has not lived up to its expectations just yet, letting BTC dominate the market comfortably
